Beware - Possible fraudelant activities from company
I created a new account on Trustpilot specifically to warn people about this
I received a letter from HMRC mentioning i overpaid income tax and a cheque was being sent to brooksdale. I have no recollection of using this company or any other third party company at all.
On contacting the company many times and providing them with my details, they mentioned that the date of birth or name/address did not match my national insurance number and instead belonged to someone called "david" on the first phone call and then someone called "robert" on the second call
They requested that I sent them the P800 for them to chase it up, but not surprisingly, no response from them
I hence contacted HMRC and they mentioned they received TWO (yes two claims) from the company with my national insurance number but different dates of birth and address. Due to the national insurance number being mine, this is why HMRC sent me the letter by post mentioning I was due overpaid tax (when in fact I have not). They have since mentioned they will cancel the cheque to brooksdale and update their systems
Word of warning, This is either extreme incompetence from brooksdale sending in two claim forms with my national insurance number but different people, or fraudulent activity. If this review is deleted from Trustpilot, I will make sure I post it elsewhere for people to be aware. Also be aware that there have been some other people that have had a similar issue (read these on Trustpilot) - so its not a one off error

The possibility of fraud or extreme incompetence, as you mentioned, is something we take very seriously. UK took 35percent from my money that was given to me from tax return company 230poundes thay took 110pound I was left with 120poundes that I did not have a qlue it is not write for people like me I phone them thay told me next time you sign some letters to read it properly if I had new that they was going to take 35percent of my money you think I would have signed it thay should have gave me a cheque to me then give the cheque to the brook Dale company
