The scarifier delivered was an older…
The scarifier delivered was an older machine. The adjustment on it was almost impossible to alter. The machine was a push scarifer, unlike the self drive machine we had from the Canterbury branch, which was excellent.
Ashford did not collect the machine when they said they would. We kept having to lock it up each evening and put it out for collection during the day. Lots of calls backwards and forwards. When I said we couldn't adjust the machine as the blades were not set low enough, we couldn't use the machine. We were told we could have some money back but nothing further said. In future I will use the Canterbury branch. Better equipment and well managed customer service.

Always check the equipment is correct
We ordered a augar drill to help with some
Landscaping. Struggled to get away where with it. It would not drill any holes and this was soft soil as well. Spoke to the chap who picked it up and turns out the cutting blade was missing from the drill piece. The gentlemen collecting the equipment stated it’s not fit for purpose and will speak to his manger to get in touch. Called two days later no notes on the systems and the manager will be in touch. Several weeks later still no word/call from the manager and hence my 1star review.

Hired equipment for the weekend
Hired equipment for the weekend, not serviced or checked, could not complain until the Monday, was told to inform the driver when collected - he was not interested, rang for refund, ( head office) was told would get this within 7 days, 20 days still waiting, was then asked to ring depot (Ashford), still no refund - don't bother with these amateurs

We hired a floor sander which we picked…
We hired a floor sander which we picked up, all good. But when it stopped working and I called, nobody rang back as promised. Rang again next morning, again no one rang back after they said they would. However, when I called again two hours later another machine was on its way to us. A little more communication would help.

Absolute shambles of a company.
Absolute shambles of a company.
Looked to hire some heaters for my business. Called up was told someone would call me back… nobody did throughout the day. Called end of day was told I would get quote across the next day…. Never did. Called them again the next day was told they would get back to me with the quote never did… rinse and repeat. Clearly didn’t need the business so went elsewhere.

As a returning customer we hired a cement mixer this time. What I like about this company is the fact that you can order an item and then due to circumstances delay the item a week etc at no extra cost. The cement mixer was great and we kept it for two weeks to complete the job. There were a few things with the paperwork that didn’t go smoothly due to hiring the item longer but when you give them a call it’s sorted.
