Steve Shaw provides a ton of educational material on his site, and his 2 quarterly live updates are invaluable in understanding how fixed income works, dispelling urban myths around bond investing, and building and maintaining a great bond portfolio that will provide more income than bond funds, and the opportunity for some additional profits thru occasional savvy trades.

Excellent guidance for active corporate bond investing. Provides in depth and ongoing follow up on investment recommendations. Analysis is timely and inciteful. Bondsavvy has helped me diversify into fixed income while maintaining reasonable investment returns in that market segment.

Regarding Larry G's review about our billing...

Like most subscription services, our subscriptions auto renew on their anniversary date. We make this clear to new subscribers when they sign up, and Larry agreed to the auto-renewal when he signed up. In addition, it is easy for subscribers to cancel their subscriptions within the Bondsavvy subscriber area.

Larry became a Bondsavvy subscriber April 29, 2022. His subscription first auto renewed on April 29, 2023 at the same $775 fee he initially paid. His subscription then renewed again April 29, 2024 at the same fee.

Then, eight days later, Larry emailed Bondsavvy to cancel his subscription. After we indicated that we could not do this, he wrote his Trustpilot review.

We are very clear on how our subscription policies work and provide easy ways for our subscribers to manage their accounts.

The service - well researched bond investment advice - is very good. But be aware of Bond Savvy’s “negative option” subscription renewal model. You do not receive a notification of any kind prior to the annual renewal charge to your credit card and there is a strict no refund policy once the charge is made. So, I recommend subscribers mark their digital calendar to send a reminder prior to renewal date so that if you are considering cancelling you can do so before the charge is made and you are stuck with a hefty ($850) charge for a service you no longer want. I personally feel that annual subscription services like this should provide subscribers with advance notification of renewal charges.

This practice is currently legal but, in my opinion, not ethical, and apparently the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) agrees.

The FTC defines negative option as “a provision of a contract under which the consumer's silence or failure to take affirmative action to reject a good or service or to cancel the agreement is interpreted by the negative option seller as acceptance or continuing acceptance of the offer”. The FTC has proposed regulations requiring negative option annual subscriptions such as the plan used by BondSavvy to provide notifications to subscribers prior to assessing a nonrefundable charge to your credit card.
