Boatshed is great - fast response (very important for me at this time). I'm in Brighton and my berthing contract is up so it is crucial to sell the boat quickly to save money! Very personable and they know their business. I recommend them.

If there was a way to give zero stars, I would. Read the other negative reviews of this company and pay attention, because I can verify that they are true.

Short version. I'm trying to buy a boat internationally from this so-called "international boat broker" because I currently live in Japan, but am a USA citizen and buying a boat before flying home. This should be a simple process: send money, get bill of sale, fly to Texas, swap title and pay taxes. Nope. Not with boatshed.

I contacted them three months ago and told them then that I was on a strict timeline and needed to complete the purchase asap or would need to renew my visa in Japan. E-mails went ignored for weeks, and I swear, I don't think one single "yes" or "no" question was ever answered, and no questions answered directly. Random ramblings to delay the process, to make excuses for not contacting back, and to hold out for higher commission. At one point I asked "is the engine operational". I couldn't get answers for nearly a week except vague "when I inspected it last it seemed to run fine". No information on age of engine, hours, nothing. Finally I demanded a video. No response for a week or so, then after many more e-mails "I couldn't get the engine to start". The broker then claimed that the delays in communications were because I hadn't signed the agreement. I reminded him that I had signed it a MONTH prior, and resent that document again and showed the e-mail date.

As far as all the information I finally found out about the boat, this came from the owner. Since "Steve" from Boatshed Texas would not answer any e-mails, I ordered a title search and tracked down the owner of the vessel. This person was a nice old man who answered every question I had about the vessel. So I decided to buy it, despite "Steve" being an incompetent clown. I haven't been able to do so, however, because of communication delays and overly complex and slow processes that are arbitrary features of Boatshed - and not required to purchase a boat.

Now, it's 3 weeks before my visa expires and although I've had the money ready for them for 3 months, I am unable to buy the boat of my dreams. At this point, I don't know if I'd buy it for 5 dollars, if I had to buy it through this brokerage.

Completely unprofessional, incompetent, and idiotic. Avoid this company at all costs. Do not purchase a boat from them, because they don't know anything about the boats they are selling, and they do not put customers first - only their commission.

Tryed to view a boat in France but no response a week later still not answering messages now I'm going to have to fly back to France to view that's if I ever get a response

I don't think that the wonderful Jason of Boatshed Plymouth could have been nicer or more helpful if he had tried! Thoroughly knowledgeable, professional and lovely, he was on hand throughout to help in any way he could. Nothing was too much trouble, and he was always happy to accommodate our needs. All communications were extremely prompt, courteous and clear. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jason and this company to anyone, and cannot wait to spend time on the beautiful boat that he helped facilitate our purchase of. Thank you :))

I’ve been looking for the right boat for a long while and found plenty only to be totally put off off purchasing by the attitude of the brokers. That’s till I found Boatshed Wales, what an absolute revelation, both Mike and James in Neyland offered a customer service second to none, they could not have been better, really interested in my business, answered all my questions ( I’m new to yachts and this is a first purchase) and sorted everything from initial viewing through to arranging lift out and loading. Cannot recommend highly enough, top lads

Andy Topham was really outstanding. He went above and beyond to help me during my virtual search and when I came to St Lucia to view two boats. Unfortunately neither boat worked out but that was no fault of Andy. He did everything right. I would highly recommend Andy and Boatshed to anyone shopping for a boat.

After 24 months of almost no interest in our boat we moved to Tim Kingston at Boatshed and within weeks our yacht was sold. The service Boatshed provided was professional and we were kept informed on the sales process at all times. Tim and Boatshed then excellently facilitated all the necessary sales documentation brilliantly and with no hassle.

I put down a deposit on a boat saying it was in Gilbrater and explained due to travel restrictions we could not travel to view the boat. On arrival, the boat was across the border from Gibraltar in the next mariner.
Upon viewing the boat it was not what was advertised it was badly maintained and needed a lot of work done on it including the engine taken out to be sandblasted. The survey indicated it was not fit to go in the water due to some issues, but the seller said it was fit for sailing, it had rusty keel bolts that were not mentioned either.
I made an offer on the boat the seller is refusing to answer my offer and keeps on saying due to conditions I shall not get my deposit back. Be aware of buying a boat from boatshed Gilbrata no deposit should be put down as the person running the sales refuses to pay back deposits.

Excellent personal service from Tim Kingston, sold our boat for us and was active from the start in getting the deal through. Overall very impressed.

Buying/selling a boat can be overwhelming but the Boatshed team guide/advise you with oodles of experience and expertise at their disposal - they are friendly, trustworthy, efficient and above all passionate about boats!
