Took the car to the garage and was told it was the purge valve
I was told to get a written quote which I did and sent it them
After chasing them for a decision they asked me if I knew why it had failed I said I didn't as I am not a mechanic they said OK we'll process the claim
The following morning they message me to say the claim had failed as the purge valve isn't covered,under my gold scheme
Why bother going through all this,also messing my garage about when they know the part isn't covered
Avoid this company they will waste you time cost you money and won't pay up

Very rapid response to my enquiry regarding a repair on my vehicle.

Their service was quick, polite and professional. I called them Thursday afternoon, I was booked into a local garage the next morning. After diagnostics revealed oil had been leaking onto my clutch mechanism, and my handbrake dash light was not working, they sanctioned the work be carried out immediately. They told the garage to replace the clutch plate, clutchplate cover and thrust race bearing, and also the handbrake as the sensor was an integral part of it. I half expected they would wriggle out of it saying the faults were due to natural wear and tear, but just said no problem, we will get this sorted for you. Best warranty service I ever needed to use.

Great service. I have used a few warranty companies over the years and these are by far the best. Would recommend to anyone.

by far the WORST WARRANTY COMPANY AROUND BEWARE!!!!! BUNCH OF SCAMMERS!!! Failed to cover on my car which should have been covered under the warranty! Left me with a 3k bill! This company is a joke honestly do your self a favour and walk away from these clowns would rate them Les then 1 star if I could!!

All my cars I’ve never bothered with the warranty as we all can agree 99% aren’t worth the paper they are wrote on. Black star however, this company is on a whole different level setting the standard which other need to take note!
Bought my Mercedes GLC and in a month had parking sensor issues as well as faulty NOX sensor. Blackstar and their staff are unbelievable all communication was done without me having to chase or take over, honestly luxury service I sat back and awaited the call from the garage to call stating repairs are complete email confirmation stating the claim has been approved. All in a matter of 24hrs! I can’t rate this company enough. I’m now back in love with my car and faith restored in warranty !

Terrible service car repair cost £3500 and only gave me a limit of £1000 expecting me to pay £2500 for the repair when the vehicle was bought with the faults from the start. Unacceptable!

If I could give minus stars I would.
Customer service staff rude. I had a problem with handbrake switch as it came off in my hand in car that I purchased a week earlier.
I was on holiday at the time towing a caravan I was told it would be fine to drive and tow the caravan without a handbrake.
So I had to pay the cost myself while away to be roadworthy.

I will never use this company again also would tell everyone to avoid at all costs !!!

Horrible service! Avoid this warranty company. The timing chain in my car was faulty which was clearly diagnosed by the garage. Further usage of the car could damage the engine! Everyone who knows a little about cars should know that. Faulty timing chain = broken engine!!! The timing chain was included in my warranty package. The claim was refused due to chain was not completely broken! Why on earth they included timing chain in the warranty package? Obviously if it breaks completely I would have to replace the whole engine! which is not worth it! My claim limit is £1500 so this would not cover the damage of the engine. I bought this warranty to have peace of mind that if something is faulty this can be claimed through warranty. Waste of money, never again!

Horrible customer service. Called to ask for a fault to be fixed under the warranty. will not confirm if the fault is covered or not until you have had the work done..... Need to know if its covered or not before going to a specific garage or if its not covered will have the work done elsewhere

Purchased a car December last year and I was back to the garage in January 🙄

From the start, I reported problems with the suspension, yet the issue was not properly investigated or repaired. The car has now failed its MOT due to faulty coil springs — exactly the problem I complained about months ago. To make matters worse, I was sent to a garage of your choosing, where the repairs were clearly not done correctly. I returned to the garage again in March and reported a knocking noise over speed bumps, the garage advised me that there was no issue and that the sound was nothing to worry about. The noise has continued since and I only do 5K miles per year so I relied on your professional assessment and had no reason to think otherwise.
At my recent MOT on 5th November, I was informed that both coil springs are snapped and that this fault was likely existed for some time. I was also advised that the broken springs would cause exactly the kind of noise I had previously reported — the same issue your garage dismissed months ago.
To make matters worse, your previous response mentioned brake pads, even though I never raised any concern about them and they have been checked and confirmed to be fine.

It is extremely disappointing that a serious fault such as broken coil springs was missed and dismissed, potentially compromising the safety of my vehicle.

TERRIBLE!!!
I bought a car, noticed some issues when I went to view it but Steve assured me that it would be resolved before delivery. Nothing was resolved on delivery. Several calls was made but I was directed to the warranty company (Blackstar Warranty). Blackstar is absolutely terrible or even worse, they sent me to their trusted garage who did a diagnostic on the car but refused to take responsibility, sending me back to Vortex car for a second opinion. After several calls and emails, with false claims by staff of Blackstar warranty, they decided they were only going to pay £192 out of £1260. It has been the most stressful one month of my life, visited several garages since the first day of receiving the car.

Bought a jaguar and almost 6 months later it had a gearbox fault, phoned Blackstar up as it was under warranty and sent details of the damage and estimates, basically everything they asked for.

Claim got rejected as it was fair wear and tear and corrosion just happe s (aluminum pipe under the gearbox, aluminium doesnt corrode)

Sent a detailed response explaining everything to them from a jaguar specialist and theg responded simply with 'Our initial decision stands'. No explanation, no reason, just an email which makes them act as judge and jury, despite evidence contradicting their judgement.

Scam of a company who have no idea what they are doing. Trading standards will be contacted.

With hindsight shouldn't have bought the car that was under Black Star warranty. Brakes down to the metal within a fortnight

Bought my car from a garage. Came with a Silver warranty. Developed a fault where the car is now in limp mode and unusable. Jumped through every hoop that was asked by these clowns. Then with no explanation told im not covered.
Avoid these absolute clowns. That warranty that you get with your car isnt worth the paper its printed on.
I will be contesting them and escalating accordingly.

I purchased a vehicle for £14,000 with a 12-month MOT and a Blackstar Warranty, expecting peace of mind — but the reality has been far from it.

Shortly after buying the car, faults started to appear. When I contacted the seller, they passed me on to Blackstar Warranty, who have now refused to cover the issue, claiming it falls outside of their terms — despite the fact I wasn’t properly informed of what is and isn’t included at the point of sale.

I’ve now booked the vehicle in for a full professional inspection in September and will be forwarding any findings to both the dealer and Blackstar. I’ve also involved my solicitor to pursue the matter further if needed.

This has been a shocking experience after spending such a large amount of money. Be warned: the MOT and warranty mean very little if you aren’t supported when problems arise.
