Wanted a meter to replace my favourite but old accu chek mobile. This seemed great and positive reviews.
This meter is a nightmare.
Out of 20odd tests only a couple seemed accurate.
Trying to discuss this with the company (wanting videos of blood drops on tape etc). The issue is, you need to use a lot of blood to make sure the test works. You have to be bang on the red dot and need to press down to make sure it's on the tape (if you are lucky). But even after this it's pot luck.
I have a dexicom sensor and use the meter to double check as I am hypo unaware. It's bad news when you feel you can't trust the meter.
I have been diabetic for around 20 years and have never had such a hard time with a meter. I am afraid it is going to early retirement (only had it a week).
It says it's had design awards. Hmmm... The built in lancer device is very poor.
Trying to keep the lancet in the machine while removing the cap is impossible. Trying to grab the eject switch is a nightmare (unless you have child fingers).

The test requires only a very small drop of blood. The area that needs to be covered is just 2.25mm x 2.0mm, and a red LED illuminates this zone to show exactly where to apply the blood. For most people, applying a drop of blood to the test area is not a problem. If someone finds it difficult—or as you say, “pot luck”—to apply blood to the illuminated area, then unfortunately this meter may not be suitable.
We are always happy to offer refunds without complication. However, in your case the meter was supplied free of charge under a special program, and the test cassettes were provided through the UK's NHS. For this reason, there was nothing further we could offer.
Our customer support team also suggested that you send a photo of a test zone with blood applied if you experienced questionable results, but we did not receive such a picture.
In your review (but not to our support team), you also mentioned difficulty removing the lancet cap without pulling the lancet out of the finger pricker. Please note that the cap must be twisted several times before pulling it off the lancet.
Finally, you mentioned that your finger could not fit in the area for the lancet ejector, suggesting it is only possible for “child fingers.” That is surprising, as our testing shows that a forefinger measuring up to 20mm across (large male) can comfortably operate the ejector.
I can confirm that the meter has received several awards, including an Innovation Award from the German Diabetes Association and a Good Design Award.
