Difficult customer service and tiles the wrong size

I wasn't sure if everything will go well after reading the reviews but I was nicely surprised.
Great company, very helpful staff, prompt delivery and what's the most important- beautiful tiles!

I am absolutely livid. I bought close to 800 euros of tiles from Best tile. I dealt with 2 different people in the shop. I asked expressly when purchasing the tiles about returning unused tiles and they duly informed that absolutely I could, that would be no problem. I even remember them expressly telling that I couldn't return any of the bags of adhesive, but the tiles were no problem. I picked up the tiles, the job has just been completed and I rang them up to return my unused tiles.
The first thing the voice on the other end of the phone says is; oh yes, as long as it's within 30 days. I immediately told him that I was in no way informed of that, and again reiterated that I was told it'd be no problem returning them with zero caveats. I was fobbed off to the warehouse when I got a bunch of excuses. We went in circles until i just hung up.

I've never had to buy tiles for a big job before, It was all new to me. I didn't know anything about the 30 day policy because they're bloody tiles. Provided they're undamaged and in their box, it's not like they're going to go off!
I'm now stuck with boxes of unused tiles I was assured I could return, and this all could have been avoided if I was informed before buying them of the 30 day policy. I'm not a complete idiot, I can count. Knowing the job was outside of 30 days I would have never have bought them then. I would have waited and come back in 2 weeks when it was within the 30 day window.
I'm never going near the place again, and i'll shout it from the rooftops. I feel absolutely screwed over.

Please, please avoid this company like the plague. If you are going to use them, read the terms and conditions very carefully, you will have to instruct your delivery driver to wait whilst you inspect every tile for damage, if not, then this company will not entertain exchanging your faulty goods or refunding. We have been left with tiles that are not fit for purpose. Mark O' Sullivan will no doubt respond to this review with outrageous claims, as he has other reviews.

Tiles faded after a month they came to buff them and there still the same calling my daughter pathetic and have no class is below the belt and it shows the con artist he is and has no respect for the customer

Great selection of tiles and bathrooms with really friendly staff who were very helpful throughout - would definitely shop here again.

Geraldine at 'Best Tile' is an absolute Gem!! It was refreshing to meet a sales person, that knew exactly what she was talking about. Indeed, she could certainly teach a lot of people in the service industry, on how to deal with customers. A friendly, informative, , and efficient professional, We were completely led by her knowledgeable advice on what tiles to pick and what a positive outcome!

As the previous reviewer said, very helpful until you send them your money, but then the problems start. The tiles I ordered were described as ‘rustic’ and fragile. They charged nearly £13 for postage and packing (16x6” tiles), so of coarse, they would pack them carefully? Not so.

Tiles chucked into an oversized old box with an assortment of bits and bobs of reused cardboard and polystyrene, resulting in chips to the face of the tiles. Many emails later, I am told this is how the tiles are and they would not even replace any of them.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. Buy from them at your peril.

Really disappointing. Ordered tiles, adhesive and grout for hall floor and they were all so helpful when taking our money. We used an experienced tiler, made sure we followed the advice of Best Tile when laying and less than 6 months later grout started to crack and tiles became loose. When we contacted Best Tile by email to query this on three separate occasions we received no response. We then rang and were told somebody would call back, waited a week and no response. We then rang again and were told to email again with a few pictures, which we did. We then got a response straight away saying the problem was nothing to do with the products, without ever one question from them. We pushed back a little but it was clear they were defensive immediately so gave up the ghost after a few emails back and forth. Appalling customer service. Seems great if everything goes right but they are incapable of dealing with any issues that arise and become defensive. Would not recommend if you want to keep your sanity. Lovely products which unfortunately are not backed up by any level of professionalism or customer service

Recently bought some tiles from Best Tile on 27/01/21 and due to the amount of tiles and the weight I decided to have them delivered and was quoted different rates by different staff it seemed that nobody knew the delivery policy. Because of differing scenarios they were unable to guarantee delivery until 05/02/21. Once the tiling was complete I had 3 boxes of wall tiles and 1 box of floor tiles left. Went into the shop on 01/03/21 and asked about returning the unused tiles in order to either receive a refund or credit note and was told that I had exceeded their 28 day returns policy, surely the returns policy should only start from the day of delivery which in this case was 24 days. Secondly, I also bought a bi-fold shower door from Best Tile which when I picked it up from their warehouse I was disturbed to find the box was heavily shrink wrapped, dirty and covered in mould, this should have started alarm bells, but instead I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. When taking the door out of the box I discovered it was covered in dust and generally dirty, it had obviously been removed at some time previously, there were no fixings in the box, because we had been without the shower for a little while I decided to fit the door (buying screws and caps), only when cleaning the door after fitting did I realise that the door itself was effectively broken. I immediately called Best Tile and sent pictures to their representative, who called and offered me a another new door which I gladly accepted. I was told that I could collect the door when it had arrived. At no time did Best Tile offer to deliver the new door, take out the damaged door, fit the new door and I was even told to return the damaged door to them in the new delivery box. All of the above was paid for by myself and added considerable cost. Ended up very disillusioned with Best Tile's attitude and quality control which seems non-existent

Just a little footnote, (Waterford Branch) People are always too eager to complain about poor service and rarely recognise or commend great Service. I would just like to convey my greatest appreciation to your team and ease of doing business. Right from the first phone call Hannah was professional, really cared and couldn't do enough. Collection at the Airport Site was like taking a drink of water, smooth and refreshing... Keep it up Guys !!! Super Service

After having a problem with a large order of Morrocan tiles (see original review below), and getting the lacklustre response below, I was phoned by Hannah Whelton from best tile who was extremely friendly and helpful, and understood my point of view. She offered to send a further 200 handpicked colourful tiles if I covered shipping, which seemed like a good deal. I went ahead and placed the bigger order of quarry tiles that I had been intending to (but had put on hold until I worked out if best tile were a decent company or not) and she sorted out combining the shipping of this order and the replacement Morrocan tiles.

"Ordered nearly 400 morrocan encaustic cement tiles, advertised as 'random mix colourful' on the website, complete with copious photos of beautiful red, yellow, green and certainly extremely colourful examples of the tiles. Exactly what I've been looking for!
However when they arrived, although beautiful, I was very disappointed to find that the mix was in fact nearly 65% black/white/grey tiles, with around only 15% what I would describe as colourful. I emailed best tile but have received no reply. I hoped to order around 90sqm of large terracotta tiles imminently but looking a bit less likely now...
Are you interested in sorting this out best tile?

You sell 2 different random mixes, a black and white, and a colourful mix. It seems clear that you have sent me the black and white mix, not the colourful as ordered. I would not have ordered a black a white mix!"

I purchased a large tile order through Best Tile for a residential project and received first rate customer service from the team in Ireland. We had a accountancy issue with purchasing outside the UK and it was dealt with promptly and efficiently. We'll definitely buy through Best Tile in future.

I wonder if this company actually exists. Their website does not function properly, it can’t decide whether it’s Irish or British. The person on the British side makes all sorts of promises and doesn’t fulfil them. The only thing they are good at is taking your money. I’ve tried to get tiles for a little patio from them because no one else has the design. I had to prompt them on the samples after 5 weeks, then they came twice and within a day. I should have dropped out then. Having so far had positives in online order, I nevertheless decided to go on with an order. The website kept switching from Irish to British territories making the basket either disappear or multiply the amounts I intended to order. Thus, I did order over the phone. The money was taken immediately. When I followed up after hearing nothing about the promised quick delivery after the quoted 7-14 days, the person in the Bexhill shop could first not ascertain any information and needed chasing. Finally, after several days, it was resolved that, despite the website claiming more than the needed stock for a certain tile, the warehouse was supposed to not hold the required amount. After all this I asked for a refund, which, after the prospected 10! days had not been credited back. Contacting the accounts dpt, they claim the ‘processor‘ had declined refunding! They did not even think to contact me over their failure and still hold my money which I paid in good faith. Hopefully, after the current fad for tiles is over, the market will even out this utterly amateurish attempt of a business.

Ordered some beautiful Equipe Ceramicas tiles online, and they were timely delivered to London a week later by a very friendly driver. No breakages at all! Very happy with the service, but communication could have been better - I had to reach out to customer service to find out about the shipping status and delivery timeline of my order rather than them e-mailing me to keep me informed.

Very helpful and willing to pass on as much info as they can. My 3rd time dealing with the shop and always very welcoming

Excellent service and value, couldn’t be more helpful and quick to respond. Staff at the warehouse loaded the tiles into my mother’s car for me as I couldn’t make it before closing.

Website easy to navigate- descriptive and was contacted the day after by staff member who noted I made an omission on my order. Mark was polite , helpful and friendly. I would recommend the company.

Got my delivery of tiles, one in the centre was broken with a piece missing. Piece not in the box. Must have been put in there like that. Emailed customer service and they told me I should have ordered extra to allow for 'broken tiles'. So no replacement according to their T&Cs. Rubbish fob off service and wont be using them again. Project will need to be finished with other similar colour tiles. I understand the need to order extra, but what other service do their send faulty stuff out and then tell you that you should have ordered 'extra' to account for that? Best-Tile - dont put broken tiles in a box and blame it on delivery when the broken bit isnt to be found in the package! Wont be using you again.
