Berkshire's insurance arm is completely unreasonable, and impossible to work with.

Berkshire's insurance arm is completely unreasonable. They had provided me a bid for insurance. Then did not provide the process on how to bind. I followed up with by broker, who followed up. I called them about 5 times myself. I could never get a straight answer. My previous insurance expired during all of the delays. Then they said the quote was no longer valid because it had been too long. They then rebid the policy at 10% more because there was a lapse in coverage. So they are now charging me more because of their lack of processes. Once this policy year is over we will never be working with Birkshire again.

wish i would have read this page ahead…

wish i would have read this page ahead of time, they are the WORST realtor company i have ever dealt with, my 'person' was sick, went on vacation, after she put my house on the market, tried to reach out several times for help, got NOTHING, they care about Berkshire, NOT about the client, would not advise anyone to use them, and i will never again

Over and over again

Over and over again, no matter what broker is used no matter what product is purchased these people exploit businesses. I have carried three different insurance policies three different brokers under three different Berkshire Hathaway umbrellas and every single time they have robbed me. This company is absolutely 100% exploitative and disgusting. Do not use a Berkshire Hathaway company unless you like being scammed and robbed.

I would give them no stars

I would give them no stars. Don't count on anything timely from them. If you have an agreement with them don't expect them to hold up their end of the agreement. They don't care about time frames or anything else. Plan on waiting a long time for anything from them. I would not use them go elsewhere you will get better service and feel like you matter.

Nightmare on Helen Street

This review is about our experience with Berkshire Hathaway's Rental Home Division. My mother moved in with me in 02/2020 because of COVID-19. In 2021, she went into hospice care, still living with me. I researched two companies to rent her home and went with Berkshire Hathaway for a one-year lease. Mother died in December 2021. A few months before the lease was up, I notified Berkshire Hathaway that we would sell the house. I requested an inspection, which BH did. The verbal inspection report was terrible, citing several undetermined damages to the hardwood floors, walls, and stairs. Additional communications from BH revealed that the family was upset they had to move again, though they signed a one-year lease. I was told the family would have to make this right, but soon after, BH admitted they had rented another home to the family and would not require additional funds from them to repair the damage they had made. I requested that they inform the new homeowners of what the family did to Mother's house. They refused, "We can't be sure they will do this to the new owners." At this point, the lease had expired, the family had not moved, but the house ownership had moved to probate court. I still had not viewed the damage. BH could not explain what caused it. BH said they couldn't talk to the family anymore because they were claiming harassment. There was nothing else they would do. I was the personal rep, but there were other heirs. Fortunately, the house was insured. The family left, and I let myself in to see the home my parents built in 1963 and lovingly maintained. The undetermined damage was all over the parquet flooring, in several rooms. It looked like a caustic chemical was applied to make burn marks. The insurance company said the floor had been burned many times in several rooms. We settled with them and eventually sold the house for less than expected. Our group voted to clean the house, throw out the stairs carpet, but not to repair the sloppily applied purple paint in the MBR or the destroyed floors. Only the den was carpeted. In one year, the renters had not changed the AC filter or cleaned the downstairs shower. Dust and dirt covered the walls because it was being blown out of the AC vents. Like Berkshire Hathaway, the insurance company had no interest in pursuing the renters to recover their money. It has taken me years to be able to speak about this. More than the 12-month timeline.

The lettings manager of Hyde Park

The lettings manager of Hyde Park, Samuel Manley, used to work for barnard marcus, he was accused of fraud and drugging and SA'ing a young colleague before he was quickly let go, a disgraceful man who has a lot to answer for.
