Poor Customer Service
I tried to arrange insurance for my son's car and got an excellent quote. For some reason they needed to know what course at University he was studying and Geography wasn't listed - not exactly an unusual subject. As a result had to call them and was told that "other" was OK but that it wasn't compulsory to answer - which it was.
Having now called I had to carry on with the quote on the phone not on line so spent a frustrating hour answering questions and listening to T&C's that I'd already done online.
The box needs to be installed within 15 days or 14 depending on whether you speak to someone or read the website. We are going on holiday in 10 days so may not be able to plug it in so politely asked if we could wait until we got back to plug it in or they could make sure it was dispatched early - neither of which are unreasonable options in a company that wants to deliver a decent customer service. After being put on hold twice I was told that wasn't possible and then got a long explanation about if it wasn't fitted it would result in the policy being cancelled. We aren't even taking that car on holiday so it will stuck on the drive!!
As per my title if you want a high quality service probably pay more - but if you want cheapest then Bell are probably Ok.

No respect for loyal customers or their time. You have to threaten to leave to get any kind of response from them. Used to have UK call centres now it seems it's all outsourced.
Complete scam.
Honestly they're a lucky to get one star. Appalling experience from start to finish. The plug and drive is a complete scam. No matter how well you drive the score always came back poor. I even decided to not use my car for a week to test the theory, and surprise surprise, when the weekly report came through it was still poor. This company sets you up to fail from the very beginning. I've told all my family and friends to stay well away from them. Worst car insurance experience I've ever had. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.
MISLEADING
MISLEADING ! DIFFERENT THINGS FROM DIFFERENT ADVISORS ! spoke to someone who told me one figure and spoke to someone else who has given me another figure. Poor customer service and very unhappy with the service provided. Even if this is the cheapest insurance quote, it would be beneficial for yourself if you still avoid.
Horrible experience
Horrible experience. Cancelled my insurance for absolutely no reason and blamed me for not plugging in my plug in device when it was plugged in the either time. I even received feedback emails showing how they were tracking my driving and how the device was working. Rang to sort the problem and their customer service was completely useless. Do not insure with bell.

I purchased insurance telematic box . The policy rules can only be obtained by logging into the Bell account and when you click download it doesn't download it says error! OK now let me advise you....the driving rules are not clear and I never was informed that you can not drive between 10pm & 4am. After 5weeks into my policy I received my drive status report which repeatedly said poor due to driving after 10pm. My job is shift work so this policy isn't suitable to my needs. I emailed the customer service 2nd week into my policy & 4th week and no response 😑. I then received notification my insurance would possibly be cancelled if my driving didn't improve... OK. so the only way out is to cancel the agreement !! Difficulty started here....no direct contact number & you can't cancel on the app!! 😡 I finally found a claims number which when listening to options I managed to speak to someone with broken English (Mumbai) 🤔 asking me lots of questions irrelevant to me wanting to cancel but after some forcefulness on my part we managed to agree on cancellation. Oh ...next thing they wanted £110 fee to cancel. I stressed it was sold to me without a policy term agreement & that the policy wouldn't download... the responce from the advisor was all of a sudden a language barrier!!
Ok... I paid to get out if this dreadful situation.... policy cancelled.
⚠️PLEASE UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SIGN UPTO BELL INSURANCE THEY ARE NOT TRUST WORTHY. THEY CLEARLY CHOOSE HOW THEY OPERATE TO GAIN FINANCIAL GAIN. ⚠️ BY FLEECING YOUNG INEXPERIENCED DRIVERS!!!
Absolute crooks
Absolute crooks. Cancelled my policy for no reason. Gave a bogus reason for doing so. Added charges on for the cancellation which I refused to pay. That was then passed to Ardent debt collectors. Complaint process is useless and they reject everything, provide the outcome on an email from a noreply@ address so you cant reply. Then you are only able to speak about the result with the person who made the decision, who never calls back. Completely stuck with the decision. Went to the Ombudsman who ruled in my favour. These crooks cancelled my policy in error and agreed with the Ombudsman to stop the debt collectors and remove any negative impact on my credit file. Subsequently they then refused to stop the debt collector and remove the mark on my credit file. Complained again and amazingly stated that acted accordingly by passing to a debt company. Refused the complaint and now forcing me to go back through the ombudsman to get them to do what they had previously agreed to do. This has been going on for 9 months now and this company is horrific. How they still operate when they blatantly lie to the Ombudsman is beyond me. They need shutting down.

Renewed my car insurance at the beginning of the year and couldn't believe how expensive it was going to be. Opted for black box insurance to keep it close to 1k per year. Missed an email about the box not working and then received another saying they were going to double my fees because I hadn't rectified the situation.
So I call and tell them I don't want it anymore and will find other insurance. We agreed that I'd send the device back and the policy would be cancelled on a set date. I send the device back, get alternative insurance, and said date passes.
The past two months I've been charged the increased sum by Bell who had agreed to cancel the policy. Bell now owe me over £360 (yes, for TWO months).
Calls and emails do absolutely nothing. They will take your money, even if you tell them the HMRC are chasing you for money you cannot afford to give them because the stupid insurance company took it first. The HMRC never did send me a fine because I had to take out a short term loan to cover the costs.
If you see this, Bell (not that you care), then I expect my refund plus interest for putting me in this situation. My life has suffered because of you. Directly.
Get your act together and give me my money back.

I took out the policy before I went away and was told I’d receive a device to put in the car. I come back from holiday after 3 weeks with car parked outside and unused I am being told I have broken the terms of insurance and have to pay additional premium. Customer service is shocking and had no understanding that even with proof they did not care to at least give us a chance to rectify the situation. Not sure how they expect people to plug a silly device in when you aren’t even in the country.
Policy cancelled and will never use them again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Absolutely ridiculous excuse for an insurance company. Will screw you over to profit themselves and avoid any work. Allow insurance fraud against you cause its easier than investigating it and throw the odd £50 at complaints rather than actually responding to you or dealing with them at all. Even sold my "uneconomical to fix" car on. Only knew when I received a PCN for someone else driving it a couple weeks after. The staff are lazy, useless, liars.

Atrocious experience. I have been locked out of my account and cannot reset my password. My policy autorenewed because I could not cancel it as I was locked out of the account. Cancelled my direct debit and am now being threatened by debt collection.
The worst service and horrible…
The worst service and horrible experience. They sent me a plug-and-drive that won't fit my car. When mentioned and send them emails. They said I need to modify the car? Wow. After asking to cancel, they want to charge me £262. For what I'm not sure. I will not pay and I will take it to small claim court. Please avoid. They are not worth the hassle.
Poor customer service
Took hours to cancel my insurance, as I had to repeat everything over and over again, through a very slow IM service. Couldn't find a phone number anywhere but they don't allow you to cancel through your online account. Just wish they had better customer service as I they company have provided good insurance rates for me over the years.

Honestly if you are even slightly considering using Bell for car insurance it’s honestly not worth it at all. First of all, the customer service is actually horrendous. They don’t care and they don’t want to help you. I asked to change my billing date and all of a sudden I have a DEFAULT NOTICE for a balance of £0.00. Yeah, how does that make sense? I doesn’t, but they didn’t care. They claimed to have sent me emails and letters stating everything and despite me literally screenshotting my emails and asking them to prove they have sent me anything I never got a reply back. Any chance they can charge you extra, they will. Want a question answered by them? Good luck.
I will never again use Bell insurance or Admiral insurance as in my 10 years of driving I have never experienced anything as bad as this. Honestly, DONT DO IT.

Poor customer service. They wouldn't give me a quote for a car insurance and were unable to tell me why? I'm a new driver but I have been able to get quotes with other providers. Avoid Bell, they'll just waste your time.

I was a customer for 11 years and wish I had left sooner. £60 cancellation fee on a monthly contract (for what!??). Each year my renewal price went up as they tried to sneakily add in additional cover that was completely irrelevant and not asked for. In 11 years my renewal price barely went down - will avoid bell and admiral like the plague with my next car!
