They once were an awesome resource but it seems they lost their passion somewhere along the way. They need a makeover and new management.

Absolute scammers of the worst order. They fleece small business for money and then pretend to provide honest reviews when they're actually just extortionists.

I recently used the Better Business Bureau's resources to check out a company before making a purchase, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Their detailed business reviews and customer feedback were incredibly helpful and gave me the confidence I needed to move forward. The process was straightforward and reassuring, and I felt well-informed throughout. I will definitely turn to the BBB again for future decisions.

I went to the BBB website to find out about a collection agency that called me. I will enter another complaint about that.
I was going to file a complaint with the BBB.
Following are the two sets of questions that are asked with responses.

I called the BBB and I spoke to a young man. He said that all questions must be answered NO or it was not qualified as a complaint by the BBB.

Now, do you "see" what these questions are really asking you?
If you do "see" the real questions, I know you will never go anywhere near the BBB.
If you DO NOT "see" the real questions, then have an attorney "see" them for you and for your own well-being, do not go near the BBB unless you completely understand.

First off I talked to someone there on the phone who was absolutely amazing. She said you did all the work for us- which I did she gave me the best advice on how to share it with the company to make a difference... after that I couldn’t get a hold of any one competent to communicate with.

All I expected was for the BBB to do their job and protect consumers – which they refused to do. I worked with a contractor who has stolen from so many customers over and over again. And often destroying his customers property and runs away. The latest time he was kicked off thumbtack the problem is he keeps re-incorporated with a new name. I found 8 company names address and bad reviews for all. His current business partner is in jail. I wanted to protect other consumers and share all the data I have collected. The BBB only refused to even have a competent conversation about this with me instead I was blown off with incoherent crap. It’s just pathetic and a disgusting business practice to outsource everything to people who can’t comprehended anything more than a bot can. BBB is part of the problem. They are not here to protect consumers they are here to just make money not help.

First off, they sell the public a lie, as they say they do lots of research into companies. I had to tell them my basic business info (basically what google asked me for my biz profile) and give them money. never have they check in on me personally not to say they dont look at reviews... maybe... Reason im leaving this is when it was time to update my card info with them (i remembered about the subscription) they called me and said your card has expired we need a new one. I said no thanks i do not want your "services??...". they said ok and that was that. that happened in May. june comes around and they contact me via email talking about my account and how i need to update my card. so i think its them just trying to get me signed back up as it didnt look or sound like an invoice ( no bill or numbers). this month ive been getting a bunch of private numbers trying to call me. i dont pick them up ever. they finally left a voice mail today saying they are going to send me to collections unless i pay them. apparently they didnt get my first request to cancel and received only one mid month last month (the email). and they have a 30day cancellation but can still charge me even treating collections?... The BBB is the one the BBB should be looking out for the crooks. I was with them 4 years and they did absolutely nothing for me but make me poorer. Happy to take your money even when you dont want their "service". not sure what the "service " they provide other than lying to the public for you. I wouldn't recommend them if they paid me.

Absolutely useless. They closed my complain just because the company responded, they don't care that the issue is not resolved.

I recently had an appalling experience with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and I am convinced that this organization is nothing more than a scam that should be shut down immediately.

To begin with, the entire complaint process is a joke. The online submission form is confusing and unnecessarily complicated, clearly designed to discourage consumers from filing complaints. Even when you manage to navigate through their convoluted system, don't expect a prompt response. My complaint was met with silence for weeks, leaving me to wonder if anyone at the BBB even bothers to check the submissions.

When the BBB finally did respond, their so-called mediation efforts were laughable. They barely put any effort into holding the business accountable. It became clear that the BBB is more interested in protecting businesses than in advocating for consumers. The responses from the business I complained about were half-hearted at best, yet the BBB accepted them without question, showing a complete disregard for my concerns and a clear bias toward the business.

The most infuriating aspect of my experience is the BBB's rating system. It is utterly unreliable and misleading. I have seen businesses with numerous unresolved complaints still boasting high ratings, which makes me suspect that these ratings are influenced by factors other than actual customer satisfaction. It seems like businesses can buy their way into the BBB's good graces, further proving that this organization operates more like a pay-to-play scheme than a genuine consumer protection agency.

In conclusion, the Better Business Bureau is a scam that should be shut down. It fails to provide the consumer protection and advocacy it claims to offer. Instead, it protects businesses at the expense of consumers, with a rating system that cannot be trusted. Save yourself the frustration and avoid dealing with the BBB altogether.

Stay away from this company! They are a scam!

Dont ever sign up with the BBB if you own a business
They will take down real reviews but let fake 1 star reviews from people that have never ever worked with your company and I have proof!
we had someone spamming our BBB reviews, using a totally different companies name and they leave it up there
They will put the owners' personal names, cell phone, and even home address for the entire world to see;
We even changed and moved to an original state and yet they leave the ole incorrect information on our BBB pages
I have requested several times to fix the information and they do NOT!
Then I demanded they close our account and they do not. Instead the individuals listed below ignore me.

BBB are the biggest Crooks. Not to be trusted

Seems like a lot of dissatisfaction with the BBB recently. I filed a complaint and a couple of weeks later it was closed as "unresolved". If the details of my complaint aren't visible to those who may want to check out companies there is no motivation for them to be responsive.

Used bbb numerous times to handle complaints but if you use them too much they block you from being able to pull bbb up on your phone.

Don't waste your time, they don't due anything even about blatant fraud.

I filed a complaints. I did not hear back. I called bbb after not hearing from them. I was told they had not heard back. So nothing more they
Could do. I contacted the local office of the business I was complaining about. They told me they had bought this location. Any mail not for them had been returned.
After this I contacted the office that should hav had my case. I was told to submit to them. Two weeks later I received a letter that they got no response from the company and they were closing my case.

This is a crappy company, I have tried them twice with the same bad results. Don't waste your money. I was using them for 5 star reviews for my business. They have to verify reviews in order to post but told me they don't have time that I was not there only customer. They never followed thru w anything they promised. Bad company. 👎

I called to cancel my subscription with them a few months ago. I just found out they never canceled my subscription and it just renewed for another year at almost $1,000. We are reviewing the audio recordings where I specifically asked them to please do not renew my subscription. They make it near impossible to cancel, saying they will send you an email but the email is actually only in your BBB account email system (which you do not get notifications for). Their entire website and system feels like it hasn't been updated since 2005, it's basically useless. I now have no trust in BBB at all and their rating system means nothing to me if I see it on someone's business. What a shame

👎❌👎❌👎❌👎 One TRILLION PERCENT SCAM COMPANY.Basically Every single one of the better business bureaus are totally useless. All they do is make a paper trail to justify their jobs and that's it. They do nothing for the public and all they do is protect the companies that pay them their salary. I hope people know how it works. When you own a business you have to pay the better business bureau $1,000 a month to have them sponsor you or work with your business to cover up the dirty laundry that goes on in your company. They protect the business and the business pays The better Business bureau to protect them. It is the biggest sham in the world. Total sham, and the consumers get scammed , at least the companies get a little bit for their payment to the better business bureau. The consumer is getting nothing
