Scammers!!!
A guy so called Peter called to purchase my car asked all the right questions about the car then asked my address and arranged a time. alarm bells started when he said he was a genuine buyer and was happy with the car price and would buy on the day if I do the car history check as he was worried about purchasing without it, then sent me a link! Being suspicious about the link I went on a website I know and did the check myself and sent him a screen shot to say it had passed, he then became adamant he wanted it from THIS website only, so I told him either pay himself or don’t bother he texted a few times saying he was genuine so I blocked him.
Do not use this site it’s a scam.

I wish I had checked the number before parting with my money, £29.99 for a report!!!!

There’s another one under name checkautos now the number I was contacted from was ‪+44 7552 989266‬ where he asked me run checks on my car they actually sent me a report on my car too which I shared with the guy he seemed very genuine to buy the car be careful!! £29.99 so they make you think it’s not a large number hence easy to fall in the trap

Scam website, they tried it on facebook for me to input my motorbike details so i can get a check on its Mots for them, truth be known bike is less than a year old, so doesn't need MOT. the site is currently checkautos a uk web address, and the person was freya on facebook.
Scem works like this
1. They say they are interested in your vehicle
2. they ask questions and say an you show me MOT and UKIV report and give a website link checkautos
3. You put in reg, and then card details
Boom they got ya.

Did they get me? Nope.

Scam please be aware

Obviously a scam. A prospective buyer text me on marketplace and asking to purchase a specific car check on this website before arranging a viewing. Nice try!

Yes I had the same issue , the potential buyer forced me to pay for HP history twice £7.99 and £18.99 still no order through I paid through worldpay, its a very big scam , do not ever use .Both mobiles are scams . I reported to Action Fraud also to paypal and credit card provider etc

Scam website - "buyer" texted me after advertising my car and asked me to get a report from a website "autochecks.co.uk" - I said he could get one from the registration and he insisted I did it and he would reimburse me... made the point of saying I had to use this website... and nothing similar - which set alarm bells ringing and obviously as scam as domain has only been registered 250 days. Scam website used to collect personal and credit card details, got a text message from 07441916029 showing genuine interest in purchasing car then got sent an email and asked to do a car check via website before he can complete the car sale? And would be happy to transfer me the full fund after he got the car report? Not even seen the car Who buys a car base on a report?? Total scam best thing to do is delete the message and block the mobile number!!

Scammers did the same as all the other reviews below wanted my information and then to use the specific website I called them out on their con by using scam doctor and then I came here to post my reply The number they used +44 7441 915952

Scam website do not use! Seemed like a genuine interest in purchasing my car via text from number +44 7441 916029. After a few back and forth with the usual questions any genuine buyer would ask, they then requested me to run car history check through 2 potential websites. I responded by saying I was happy to run a report via RAC or AA for them, with it being a reputable company however they insisted that they do not trust both of these companies and wanted me to use autochecks.co.uk or historyreport.co.uk. I was fortunate enough to not fall for their scam, please be aware not to part way with any of your personal information!

Knew it didn’t feel right as the “buyer” was asking questions about my car that were in the advert, so didn’t feel right

Offered to pay cash for a £40k car 🤣

same report as the other people. the person had interest to buy the car no name mentioned but same number you think they be smart enough to change the number 07440500165 it was the same number as others and send me the autochecks.co.uk . didnt buy anything thank god used another password than usual smelt a rat . thank you guys saved me using my card.

I can also confirm its a scam. Really nicely pit together website. i actually fell for it.

A guy named Alan, showed interest in my vehicle and ask for a report from autochecks.co.uk, but I already had one from a trusted company so I send it to him, he kept telling to do from this one. All sound a bit phishing so i came here to check, thankfully I didn't fell for this scam, the phone number used is +447445004165. Be careful.

I am always sceptical, so when I got some guy asking me for a report from this company only and that he would reimburse me (but not pay beforehand), I knew it was fishy. The number used +447445004165 is documented on another site (pistonheads) which was the number used.
Do not use ever use this site, they are using spam/scam tactics.
