Not a 5 star service

I really wanted to love them and leave them a 5 star review as they have asked. Just never got to doing that at the start of working with them, and then things started piling up.
I had a very low volume store, so they were probably not making much money with me and not super motivated, but still I don't think these things are acceptable in any business.
They have a portal and a dedicated slack chanel. What happened initially no one set me up with a portal and slack chanel took days to get someone to reply to messages. They have a Shopify integration and are supposed to pick up orders automatically. In reality I had to ping them for unfulfilled orders in slack (days to get reply=shipping delays).
I could never figure out the billing, sometimes I was billed for shipping more than I had orders (like I said very low volume).
There was another instance when my account got locked for no payment, but there wasn't any invoice or any way to pay sent to me and it took days to get them to look into the matter.
When we finally parted ways, it took them about a month to get my inventory sent out. And they only sent half of it, didn't include my branded packaging materials either.
So, that's the story. Sorry I can't make this 5-star, Atomix.

While I never had the opportunity to work with you or your brand, I can assure you that we strive to provide each of our clients, regardless of the size of their brand or order volume, with the best experience possible.

Atomix has and continues to rapidly grow and transform, and unfortunately that’s not without growing pains. Based on feedback from our clients, we have substantially invested in our customer service, communication, and billing teams. Sadly, we cannot go back and change your experience, but we can and will continue to learn and grow, and I greatly value your perspective and feedback.

Has a lot of issues to work through...

I am the owner of a small skincare brand, 2 SKUs. I interviewed several 3PLs because I needed batch management, and my old 3PL - a large outfit - does not yet offer FEFO. I went with Atomix because of the reviews, and because it seemed to offer both flexibility as well as the ability to scale, even though its pricing is premium compared to some of the other companies I spoke to.

Unfortunately, Atomix did not deliver. There were three major issues and a host of smaller ones.

1) Somehow, all major carriers with the exception of UPS do not have reliable service in the Milwaukee area. We cycled through USPS, DHL, and Fedex. There were lost packages, packages where the tracking did not appear for days on end, delayed packages, so customers were emailing our customer service pretty much every 2 or 3 days, at a rate I did not see with my old 3PL. We eventually had to shift to UPS because it was the only reliable service, and I needed to provide my customers with a good experience. Note that the pricing quoted during the pitch is USPS prices, so once you switch to UPS Ground, your shipping costs go up >2-3x the quoted shipping cost to approximately $12-$18 for a 4 ounce package with dimensions ~5x5x6 (and up to $80 for Hawaii). Of course, you can not switch and stick with USPS, but that means dealing with lost items and lost tracking ALL the time.

2) It did not have the technology / platform to automate most things, so a lot of things were still pretty manual and human-dependent. Atomix did not have enough staff to sufficiently and competently deliver on the more customized service it promised (and appear to charge for). Towards the end, I got a customer service rep who was great, but she isn't a system. She's just a human being, and she could not make up for the general lack of bodies. For example, whenever any of the key staff gets sick, things fall apart for a few days. They also don't have a customer service ticketing system, so requests (especially pre-this particular rep) often were lost, requiring following-up on your part.

And due to the manual aspect of their system, they could not keep track of inventory - leading to inventory levels dropping from >100 units to 0, which obviously created problems for me as I was under the impression I still had stock.

3) International shipping gets lost A LOT, and neither Atomix or the carrier they use tried to figure out what was going on. Atomix insisted they shipped out the packages, and the carrier insisted they didn't receive them at their facility...

With Atomix, I've experienced difficulties on an almost weekly basis - shipping being mapped to the wrong options, duplicate orders being sent out on a regular basis (which sucks because repeat customers no longer have to refill as quickly), pricing being 2x what was quoted because they forgot to sign me up for an international shipping service on their end, systematic lost packages, double charging on the bill, tracking issues, surprise charges that aren't in the contract. Though they've corrected some of these issues, it means that I take time out of my business to focus on logistics and comb through the invoice.

If I hadn't worked with my old 3PL in the past, I might have thought this was par-for-course for a 3PL, but I had. Yes, you get an anonymous customer service rep at my 3PL instead of a person you know, but you don't really need to chat with that anonymous rep, because their systems catch most errors or provide relatively simple remedies. Whereas you constantly have to reach out to your Atomix rep because something had gone wrong. I've since gone back to my old 3PL, but I wanted to leave this review because I think it's important to let other small business owners know.

Good idea, bad execution.

I’m sorry to hear that this was not your experience. I’d like to respond to the “three major issues” you mentioned.

1. We have strong partnerships with each of our shipping partners: USPS, DHL, UPS and FedEx. Across the board, our shipments are delivered over 99% on time. Many of our clients use a variety of carriers with great success. We also have custom address verification software built into our app, which reduces the number of Return To Sender and undeliverable packages, and allows our clients to review addresses that we flag as unverified.

2. Atomix uses a sophisticated, custom built WMS that provides a high level of automation, and dedicated account managers to provide a customized experience for all of our brands. We use a ticketing system in Slack, and have made significant investments in our CX team and client management software in the past few months.

3. The specific issue you described with an international carrier going back and forth was resolved by Atomix. Our CX team tracked down the shipment in question, which was with the carrier, and recovered the shipment. This is one example of the team going above and beyond the service provided by many 3PLs.

So far so good with Atomix Logistics

So far so good with Atomix Logistics. We just started up service with them just in time for the Black Friday rush and while we have a few wrinkles to work out they have good systems in place and very good support.

Communication is constant with our Micro Pod team. Having a dedicated team works really well so you are always working with the same core group and not having to re-educate new people about your specific needs for your products or issues that need to be fixed.

At this point we would definitely recommend Atomix if you are looking to scale your ecommerce fulfillment.

We love Atomix

We have been using Atomix as a third party logistics company for almost a year now, and I have been consistently impressed with their level of service. They have always been prompt to respond to our requests and have been very effective at managing our inventory. Their team is professional and friendly, and they have helped us to streamline our parcels. I would highly recommend Atomix to anyone looking for a reliable and effective third party logistics company. They have been an integral part of our business, and we look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.

Overall an effective system designed to help you as you scale

Atomix Logistics has in place a very effective system - inventory, packaging, fulfilment. With Slack channels for quick communication and a seamless connection between the online inventory system (their new app is about to be launched) and my Shopify store, it has been a pleasure working with their team. The pricing is also reasonable. Do reach out to see if you are a good fit with Atomix Logistics particularly if you are looking to scale your start-up.

Great communication

As a small start-up, I highly recommend Atomix Logistics.

I'm the owner of a small children's toy start-up brand. When I started looking for a fulfillment partner I was really worried I would not be able to find anybody who would want to take on a tiny brand like mine. I have to say finding Austin and Atomix Logistics has been the best thing that could have happened to me and my brand. Austin has been treating my brand like we are a huge multi-million dollar business already. The orders come in and go out what feels like minutes. Any questions or concerns I have, get answered at lightning speed. I feel incredibly well taken care of and know with Atomix I can grow in peace because they will make us feel at home no matter what size we are. As a small start-up, I highly recommend Atomix Logistics.

So grateful for the Atomix team!

Austin and the Atomix team made finding a 3PL partner seamless and easy…and dare I say enjoyable? Atomix feels like an extension of my own small team — everyone is extremely hardworking and responsive (no sending emails into the abyss), orders are received and packed in a timely manner, and they are able to accommodate many special requests and packaging details.

As a small business owner finding a fulfillment partner and giving up control of that part of my business (although necessary), was incredibly scary to me. I have read and heard countless horror experiences with other well known companies that made me put off finding a partner for so long. However I can confidently say my products and customer experience are in good hands with Atomix, and I am so grateful to have this responsibility lifted off my shoulders and gain time back in my life to focus on other parts of the business!

As a business owner, having control is important. The pod and warehouse manager concept is brilliant and they treat us like we’re on their team. They helped us launch with fast and affordable shipping. Now, as we scale we can focus more on growth. We tell every brand about them!

I Do Not Usually Write Reviews, but They are Completely Worth It!!!!

I have used other fulfillment centers in the past, and by far, Atomix Logistics has been phenomenal. They are organized, approachable, and flexible. They have great response times to requests, and are open to special requests. They have helped me with many special requests, and that is why I am grateful to them. They are always accommodating and listening to my needs. I appreciated that Austin the owner, was interested to fully understand my business so they could provide my business with a customized fulfillment solution. I am a small but growing business, and Atomix Logistics has the infrastructure in place to “scale up, ” when the time comes. What I like the most, unlike other fulfillment centers I have tried, is that they were very patient in trying to sort and organize my fulfillment needs, as the online world changes rapidly. I am very thankful to them, for taking care of my requirements, so I can concentrate on growing my business. Thank you so much!!!!

Professional and supportive

I was looking for a 3PL and found Atomix. The team was very supportive and professional. I had a lot of questions when starting and the team was patient and provided me answers I needed.

The onboarding process was smooth and the interface is awesome!

They are very transparent about the fees. I think they're doing a great business.

I don't usually write reviews

I don't usually write reviews, but after a long struggle to find a fulfillment company, I've been blown away by Atomix. They were much quicker and more thorough than any other company. I liked they're approach with warehouse managers, because they always responded immediately and pricing was easy to understand. 100% would recommend.
