Terrible customer service
The gear is great!
I live in the US, so when I placed my order, I checked to see if there would be any extra cost. The website mentions the extra shipping cost, a duty cost, and VAT charges under the shipping tab. At the time of my order, it displayed a shipping delay and an order before date for the holiday season. I ordered in January. No estimate of the true cost when the item gets to the states.
Gets to the US. I get an email requesting another $135!! I only ordered $350 worth of gear!
Emailed customer service a little back and forth for 2 days and they didn't want to do anything about it. He mentioned that the US removed the under $800 tariff exemption back in September 2025. Like this is something I should know but they didn't have it displayed anywhere on their website! I asked for a refund and nothing. No response for 5 days.
Feeling like I had no choice and would be out even more money because they only hold an item for 5 days before it gets returned. I had to pay the $135.
Get an email 2 days later saying they saw I paid it and that he was on vacation. Just stupid!
Honestly, I think it's ridiculous they don't have and inport estimate at the time of checkout. Just saying its verible is terrible and not keeping the customer in mind.
I noticed at the time of me writing this they removed the holiday-prompted warning and replaced it with a the customer is responsible for all tariffs warning. A little late guys

Our records show that you first contacted us on 29.01.2026, at which point an investigation was initiated.
The delay in subsequent communication occurred because the assigned representative was unexpectedly absent due to illness.
Upon their return, they were working through a backlog of correspondence.
We sincerely apologise for the delay and the inconvenience this caused.
Regarding the import duties applied to your order, it is important to note that the U.S. Federal Government has withdrawn the long‑standing de minimis exemption.
As of 29 August 2025, all imported goods entering the United States—regardless of their value—are now subject to applicable duties, taxes, and fees.
This change follows an Executive Order suspending duty‑free treatment for shipments valued at $800 or less, which had previously been permitted under the exemption.
Prior to this policy change, items valued below $800 could enter the U.S. without incurring import charges.
That is no longer the case, and all shipments, including low‑value parcels, must now clear customs under standard duty assessment procedures.
In your specific situation, the notification explaining the potential for import fees did not appear at checkout due to the use of a third‑party payment method.
We acknowledge that this contributed to the lack of clarity, and we are already seeking platform updates to ensure that duty‑related information is displayed consistently, regardless of the payment method selected.
We appreciate your feedback and are committed to improving transparency and communication for all customers moving forward.

Great gear but expensive with trump tariffs
Let me just say (and I probably can't do it again due to wife, eek), twice now I have paid the import fees for this quality gear. To the tune of +$125 each time, for the B310 smock and pant that are rain proof. You cant beat the Comb Arid pattern or the quality and fit of Arktis gear.

As of the the 1st September 2025, the US Federal Government removed the $800 Exemption from imports abroad where you would pay no duties on it.
It can be frustrating and we do understand this, however Arktis UK has not say on what t he Federal Government chooses to enact.
However, we do have a solution for this one. Recently in the last couple of weeks ARKTIS USA has relaunched with a limited range, and we have a distribution point in the US now.
So for any future purchases on the USA site it will not incur import fees. Also as of Early March 2026 we will have more items on the webstore matching our UK site for variety.

With the the $800 exemption for import fees removed by the US Federal Government as of September 2025, import fees were included regardless of the value either over that or under that.
Recently in the last couple of weeks Arktis USA website was relaunched with some of our items. We now currently have a distribution option from America, meaning you will no longer have to pay import taxes if you order from within the USA.
By the start of March 2026 we will have more of the items you see on the UK store within the US, so for future purchases, you can use that site.

I have a number of Arktis garments in…
I have a number of Arktis garments in Pencott Greenzone and found them to be excellent quality. Now they have moved to NI there's no EU import duty which makes their kit even more attractive and also makes it a viable option for sending gift vouchers to my teammates and friends. I would love to see more Greenzone kit and eventually Metropolis kit too would be the cherry on top.
