I found the hackathon to be very well planned.
A lot of thought had gone into designing the smart city scenario and much hard work must have gone into the varied challenges that were set and the way they functioned in a browser-friendly web application.
The difficulty level was a bit beyond me as a beginning level coder, but thankfully others on my team picked up the slack.
I had lots of fun and it was a great experience, but since the event was promoted in first-year university lectures, it would have nice either to have had a few tasks that were within the reach of computer science freshers, or a debriefing afterwards to explain how some of the tasks could have been completed.
Nonetheless, the event still definitely deserved 5 stars.

aql hosted an exceptional hackathon on our campus at the University of Huddersfield. Our undergraduate students completed a series of challenges increasing in difficulty, and had to work together using the skills they have developed on their Computing and Computer Science degrees to solve these real-world problems. The aql team were incredibly supportive, professional and friendly with all the students, and I would recommend this as a brilliant activity to engage students in developing their skills beyond their course in preparation for the workplace.

We worked with aql to deliver a joint event with one of our clients and the marketing team was genuinely lovely to work with and so accommodating. The event was a great success and looking to do a repeat - albeit bigger and better - next year!

Recently worked with the aql team on an event for the Leeds Digital Festival. It was great working with the marketing team, really approachable and enthusiastic team, plus we got to work with Melvin, the AI robot!

I'm a tottering old priest working with victims of trafficking in Eastern Europe. When I first began requiring internet and support services I first went to AQL. And two decades on, I cannot imagine a more professional, supportive, and client focused business. During the past three years I've had to depend even further on AQL to assist me as I move between the Moldovan and Ukrainian borders, moving child victims of Russia's relentless assault upon the innocent children and elderly in Ukraine. I lack the vocabulary to describe how grateful we are for the continued support provided by the staff of AQL and those who have volunteered their time and expertise, as well as compassion, as we provide safe-harbour and new life starts away from the relentless bombing, destruction and torture from Russian troops.

Reliable and not expensive.
Rather slow to forward emails to my domain on to my inbox, however.

I have dealt with this company over many years and always found them to be innovative and helpful.

Do yourself a favour and block ALL aql numbers. Aql are giving out telephone numbers to scammers and spammers (edit for trust pilot rules). I opt to block ALL your numbers as I can’t trust ANY of them. These scammers need to be STOPPED and aql has the power to do so for some of them, so DO IT. Enough excuses, stop these scammer/spammer companies, instead of flagging genuine reviews on trustpilot. (Factual as it happened to this one). I have yet to receive a legittimate call from an aql number despite the 7+ calls a day I’m getting from them. Blocklist getting pretty full tbh. Yes there not the only one - I’ll be submitting reviews to each of the relevant companies on trustpilot.

Thank you for the response. Do you seriously expect someone to post every single scam number being used with that link? I personally have been called from nearly 50 different numbers. It is not practical to post them 1 by 1. Provide a more meaningful method of posting the numbers and I’ll do it.

*EDIT* now aql are again trying to have my review removed by complaining that it might be for another domain - it is not.

Aql you are the ones hosting these numbers which makes you responsible at least in part, so my review stands. I’m annoyed at the spammers and scammers using your numbers, yes, but you are the company who can do something about this yet you choose to try and get my little review removed again?

As before I’m still waiting for the message inviting me to provide these number ranges instead of doing them one by one, so when your serious about getting rid of them message me through this.

I have located the email link on your site and will use it at a time suitable to myself, or alternatively you can use the updated email address in my profile.

I believe that this is a genuine company, with many genuine customers. However it would seem that it is an easy way for scammers and fraudsters to access multiple numbers with a view to conning or annoying as many people as possible. Here is a list and dates of a variety of caller ID's:-

I sincerely hope that something is done about this. I checked out most of the numbers and all but a few rated as cons were AQL. None of these were recognised numbers, nor were they expected or solicited calls. By the very fact of not answering these calls, I may miss one of vital importance to me.

Don’t know why a company such as AQL can lease numbers to third party companies, it’s like simply handing criminals the tools to scam

Wonderful support team. I've raised multiple tickets for various reasons and they’ve always been pleasant and helpful with supporting my pharmacy. Would recommend to any other individuals wants to send text messages using their service.

AQL - loads of experience and technical knowledge, but always willing to break it down for me. They've helped me when I've needed changes done and they've always been great value for money.
