The service of the Physician was lousy
The service of the Physician was lousy. My asthma had flared up, I needed a work excuse to be able to start my prednisone and get my asthma under control. I called Amwell 3 times to get assistance with the matter and that didn’t work. I ended up having to go to work with a hard time breathing.
Waste of time with these Indian doctors…
Waste of time with these Indian doctors that only know how to say "No" and be judgmental with every inquiry or when asking for guidance. Worst Virtual Physician App Ever Used.

Had a decent visit
Had a decent visit, I picked my doctor, she was good. Sent medication to my pharmacy.
No, RX after two days…
I filled out the paperwork for my visit as stated on their site. I like the provider that I video chatted with, as a visit went well, and I thought things were going to be accomplished during my urgent care visit. However, the prescription was not sent over to the pharmacy until the pharmacy had closed. I called customer service and ask them to change The pharmacy to a different pharmacy, since it didn’t get done in time before they close. It was getting late, but they assured me it would. I went to the pharmacy and waited up until the time the pharmacy closed and they did not receive it. Another day without a prescription. I called customer service back and told them that the prescription was Never sent over, and they assured me that it would be done. I now had to give them a third pharmacy number due to the fact that the pharmacy was closed on Sunday. I waited all day for my prescription and no prescription was sent over. Two days later, I’m calling back the pharmacy of the original prescription and they had it. So I had to wait for them to fill the prescription. The other two pharmacies I called never received a prescription at all! I’ve lost two days of care due to the fact that customer service did not pass on the message or I fell through the cracks. Either way, very frustrating care!
Then, if that wasn’t enough, I look at my bank statement and I was charged three for my visit! When I called customer service again, she said “Oh, it’ll fall off in a couple of days in the quote. I asked her what to do if it doesn’t and she said to call back. Like that gives me any reassurance at all. I advise everyone whether you like this company or not to check your bank statements to make sure that you weren’t charged twice. My company uses this for their employees as a discount however, through all the trouble that I’ve been Through I would almost rather go through a walk-in clinic. Be very leery.

I had to stop treatment in the middle of my recovery because they stopped taking my insurance.
HORRIBLE
HORRIBLE. Avoid this service like the plague. I was desperate for a psychiatric visit for my daughter and tried this, thinking I’d be in touch with a board certified capable psychiatrist, and they make a great big deal about which pharmacy they could use. The tech connection was terrible, the dr was horrendous, one of the doctors cancelled and would not talk. Then the one who did disappeared IN THE MIDDLE OF THE VISIT while my daughter was crying in pain. Then poof. Then he came back on to say their service is not able to prescribe or treat… What is the point then? I easily can imagine someone calling this service and being so turned off that they commit suicide. These people should not be licensed, should not practice and should not be in this business. Do I even need to add that each doctor was crappy? Because they were. I wish I’d seen these reviews before setting the call. THE WORST. I guarantee you I will be on with customer service to get a full refund. It’s just shocking that these companies can falsely advertise services like this. I’m disgusted.

I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received. The doctors were unhelpful, unable to prescribe even basic medication, and claimed there was no history about me in their records. Of course, they wouldn’t have a detailed history since I’m not a regular patient. I came in for urgent care, expecting quick and simple assistance. Instead, they were unable to provide anything meaningful, and it felt like a complete waste of my time. If all they could offer was an aspirin, I could have simply walked into Walgreens for that. Overall, I’m far from satisfied with the quality of care provided.

After being shafted by two…
After being shafted by two psychiatrists in one night who both canceled 10 plus minutes into the appointments, I called customer service and told them to delete everything. Disgusting, maybe don't even offer mental health services if you can't even honor appointments that your patients have been anxiously awaiting for a week straight only to have them canceled in the middle of the appointment time. If the provider wanted a Friday night off so bad, perhaps she could have just canceled the appointment ahead of time or not even had it available as an option because her convenience created major problems for her patient. You've lost me as a patient completely, I want nothing to do with Amwell, and I highly suggest this company and any other virtual telehealth does not do business with Rozy Aurora, don't believe me? Check her Google reviews.
Don’t waste your money if it’s a health visit
Paid for a 3 minute appointment, strep is spreading in my household so I figured with them offering the service it would be something they’d be willing to prescribe meds for. They said to go in person to see a Dr.
If I could give this company 0 stars I…
If I could give this company 0 stars I definitely would. My recommendation to all is to run screaming as fast as you can from this place. They rob people of their money and don't provide services as promised. I scheduled a telehealth appointment w/a psychologist to obtain an ESA letter and to hopefully have a few future therapy appointments. The psychologist I met with told me he is not able to write ESA letters as Amwell does not allow their providers to do so and told me to pull his clinical note from the system and give it to my apartment complex. After literally 5 hours of speaking w/various customer service representatives trying to get someone to help me access the clinical note I gave up as no one could help me and each rep I spoke w/stated "Our providers are allowed and able to issue ESA letters and message the provider and ask him to write an ESA letter", the provider kept insisting he wasn't allowed to do so. After all the time I wasted trying to get a "clinical note" I requested they refund my $100 because no customer should have to pay to do the job of a company's employee let alone waste 5 hours of their life trying to get a letter. Amwell denied my refund request so now I am out of $100 and have no ESA letter and have to start from scratch. Amwell is a giant thief and has no respect for their customers.
To say I'm dissatisfied is an understatement
To say I'm dissatisfied with the time it took to resolve a simple billing issue is an understatement.
My original email to Amwell support about the issue was on April 14, 2024. I was then informed that it could take 4–6 weeks for investigation. After 6 weeks of silence, I sent a follow-up email in the support thread on June 4, 2024 asking for an update. No response. I then called Amwell customer support, and they said they would escalate the ticket. Still no response after several more weeks. I sent yet another email in the support thread on June 24, 2024. Still nothing. I called Amwell customer support again, and they said they simply weren't sure why it was taking so long, but that they would try to escalate it again. I basically banged my head against the wall for over THREE MONTHS just to get any sort of response. All of this for a simple refund request for errant charges!
I'm pissed off as a customer and will not be using LiveHealth Online anymore. This, combined with the awful changes to the telehealth portal for virtual visits, has left a sour taste in my mouth as a consumer. I RARELY complain or leave bad reviews about companies, but Amwell has absolutely earned it.
Beware, not convenient or easy
I paid for this service to go along with my short term medical coverage. I used it back in Feb and it took hours and several phone calls to finally get to "see" a doctor. I would be put in queue, kicked out, transferred to a new doctor all of the sudden, told I was next, told my appointment had started, etc and then be kicked back out to the queue again. It was absolutely ridiculous.
So here I am again in July, trying to see a doctor, and it's been an hour. Website said I was next, I waited almost 25 minutes and was kicked out. I called and was set up a phone call appointment but at the same time was able to get back into the queue for the doctor who had "no wait time".
It's been another 30 minutes and I have not received a phone call nor has the doctor with no wait come online but I did get a text saying they were ready to see me almost 15 minutes ago and to return to my computer (which I had never left). Nada. Nothing. No change. Still just waiting. Their system is completely screwed up and it makes no sense to do this to paying customers.
It would be easier to go to the Urgent Care and pay $75 but they're not open right now. I will never pay for this service again and I suggest you don't either.
ETA: I did end up getting a call from a doctor and spent about 1 hour and 15 minutes total making calls and scheduling appointments and thinking I was "next in line" which was far less than last time.
Untimely mental health services, untransparent
Amwell fails to provide timely mental health services. I had a family crisis and was given an appointment two weeks out.
Are clients who use Amwell for physical health concerns - upset stomachs and the like - given appointments two weeks out? How could that even work? Is it legal for Amwell to provide separate levels of care like this?
Amwell has changed its platform and no longer lists all available providers and their specialties so the client can choose their own provider. Instead, Amwell assigns them to one. Amwell today told me that provider information is now hidden from consumers, and only Amwell employees can see it.
Amwell customer support is terrible, which falls directly at the feet of Amwell's failure to train. Customer support is a skill with real techniques to ascertain client needs, stay calm, and be familiar with their business's resources.
My insurance company needs to team with a better telehealth service.
5 Star Therapist
I highly recommend Margarita Jimenez, MA- LPC from Texas!! She is extremely kind, caring, and an overall wonderful therapist! If you have the opportunity to have her as your counselor, you won’t regret it!!
They'll just lie to you and have no mechanisms to amend it
When confirming coverage, they informed me they had a data breach and couldn't verify any insurance information, so all visits were charged up front, but claims would be submitted automatically. This was a lie. You have to manually call in and tell them to submit the claim. You could submit it yourself... if your company accepts patient-submitted claims, which mine does not. The timeline then is 45-60 days *just to submit the claim* (you have the documentation, how exactly does it take 45-60 days to transmit it?). Then it is 4-6 weeks for the company to process it. Then there is no timeline whatsoever given for Amwell to process reimbursement. Meanwhile this $300 charge for a 3-minute Rx renewal is sitting on a credit card accumulating interest, and there is no way to escalate the situation. Super ethical business.

This morning was my 3rd time using them in 4 years. Last two times I was prescribed an antibiotic and today otc because they think it’s on its way out. I’m grateful for the fast, thorough service I received and that there was a doctor ready at 3:15 am when I couldn’t bear it anymore.
I have used Amwell in the past and…
I have used Amwell in the past and every time I have been disappointed. I explain to the doctors what my symptoms are and it seems that they always tell me to use over the counter medications. I wouldn’t me reaching out to a doctor if it was that simple. People go see a doctor because usually they have tried everything that is over the counter and they would like a professional opinion. Extremely disappointed. I can not recommend Amwell at all to anyone. Save your money and go see your primary. I figured I would save some time since I was too sick to drive by doing Amwell.
Don’t waste your money
Don’t waste your money. These people shouldn’t even be licensed to practice medicine. You will be paying for nothing but for them to tell you that you need to go somewhere. My son is very sick needed an anabiotic and a steroid and they refused to prescribe anything. After arguing, this hippie doctor finally prescribed a steroid. Once we got to the pharmacist they had never even seen a prescription written the way it was. It was one single dose. We were out of town and trying to figure out how to get him the care he needed. These people need to be ashamed of themselves.

Amwell is a decent app however for the past 2 appointments I’ve had they keep charging me the non covered insurance cost for my appointments. I literally had to cancel an appointment today because of their system issue. Like i don’t know what is going on but I have another appointment this upcoming Saturday and im hoping it’s fixed by then. This is really unacceptable
