Utter rubbish
Within 1 hour of receiving this phone the clip holding the SD card broke off. A call was made to Amplified Hearing and the person who answered the phone couldn't help. After trying to replace the clip for a while we gave up.
Then after 3 days the phone wouldn't charge so the phone was useless and returned.
Amplified hearing said we had damaged to SD card clip!! They also said the phone was in working order. They couldn't sell it on due to the damage so offered to dispose of it. Didn't believe them so asked for it to be returned.
We had to pay £8 to get the phone back - still waiting for it's return.
Wouldn't touch this company again.
The phone appears to be very old technology.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your frustration, but we would like to clarify the findings of our technical inspection for the benefit of transparency.
When the handset was returned to our warehouse, our team conducted a thorough assessment of both the physical condition and the internal hardware of the device.
During this inspection, the SD card clip was found to be physically bent out of shape. As this specific component does not fail or bend under normal operation, such finding is consistent with physical force or accidental damage rather than a manufacturing defect. Unfortunately, such damage voids the possibility of a refund and prevents the item from being resold.
Furthermore, regarding the operational issues reported, the device powered up immediately during our testing. We monitored the handset for a full 24-hour period, during which the battery maintained its charge and functioned exactly as expected, confirming that the phone is in full working order.
Regarding the return costs, please note these costs simply cover the postage used, that being the initial pre-paid label for the return to us and the tracked delivery to get the handset back to you. Your device has been dispatched and is currently on its way to your address.

Service from the company was good but the telephone didn’t meet needs
The service from the company was good, but the telephone did not meet my dad’s needs. He is elderly, with poor hearing and some cognitive impairment. The phone had very loud ringers, although none of them sounded like a phone and more like alarms. However the volume of the person on the call was no better than his current phone unless you press the boost button while on a call. He would not be able to remember to do that and I was told that it is not possible for the boost button to be turned on constantly. The phone therefore wasn’t appropriate for someone with cognitive impairment. The returns process was very quick and smooth.

I am sorry to learn that the phone you have recently purchased was not the right solution for your father. You have highlighted a very important point: for users with cognitive impairment, remembering to press the boost button during a call is often not practical.
While many amplified phones use this as a safety feature to protect other users in the household, we understand it can be a significant hurdle for someone who needs that volume automatically.
For future reference or for other customers in a similar situation, we often recommend the Amplicomms BigTel or Doro ranges, which features in many cases an Audio Boost Lock. This allows the extra amplification to stay on permanently, removing the need for the user to remember to press a button.
We are glad we were able to handle your return quickly, and we wish you and your father the best in finding the right solution for his needs.

Unhappy purchase
I found the instructions to install the handset extremely confusing and still don't know what TAM means. The voice on handset is barely audible until the audio boost is on which is most annoying as I'm only slightly deaf and shouldn't need the boost. Not terribly happy with the purchase I'm afraid.

To clarify the instructions, TAM stands for Telephone Answering Machine as in the voicemail feature. Regarding the volume, this specific model is designed with a very high ceiling for profound hearing loss, which is why the audio boost is a dedicated trigger. However, we understand that having to press it every time can be frustrating if you only require a moderate increase in volume.
Since you only purchased this phone earlier this month, we would be more than happy to help you with a returns authorisation as well as suggesting alternative models that offer a higher volume.

The perfect telephone for the elderly with great amplification, large buttons and a very clear backlit display. Having read the reviews I downloaded the full manual before setting up and wojuld advise others to do likewise as the Quick Start guide is a little short on detail. Great value for money

Please note that, when a telephone provides high levels of amplification, it increases the volume of the incoming voice along with all frequencies on the line. At very high volumes, this can sometimes make standard line noise more audible than on a non-amplified device.

Loud ring and buttons that tell you the number you press as you dial, excellent
Bought for a 95 y/o with macular degeneration and they are delighted with it, particularly as the buttons speak the number aloud as they are dialling
Havent had a chance to set up the other functions yet but recepient is very happy so far.

Good but could be better
Considering these phones are designed for people with hearing issues and sight problems they are good but there are a few things which could be MUCH better.
1) The replay message button is TINY and does not light up or flash if there is a message. Also it's right next to the turn off answer phone button!
2) Answer phone messages are only played through the base station (not the handset or any of the extra handsets)
3) The amplifier BOOST button only works on the corded handset not when playing answerphone messages.
4) The announcement recorded by the microphone on the base station is muffled and lacks clarity when played to a caller. The message left by callers are unclear and difficult to hear when replayed as they are replayed by the speaker on the base station and doesn't benefit from the boost button. We would expect this to be much better on a phone such as this.
Good features include:

We got this phone for my 96 year old mother - not as easy to use as it seems and unless she was calling via whatsapp no-one could hear her. We sent it back for testing and they said it was fine and £8 to return to us. We previously had samsungs for her and regret swapping to this inferior phone - lesson learnt
