My book was published, but they got all the money!
I paid $3,000 to have my book published through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and about 30 other retailers. However, a year and a half later, I still haven’t received any royalties. The publisher has been collecting all the revenue without passing any of it on to me. To make matters worse, I now have to hire an attorney to have the book removed from these platforms and republish it myself so I can receive the royalties instead of America’s Book Writing company.
Travis Denzel (Senior Marketing and…
Travis Denzel (Senior Marketing and Distribution) is very good, from my experience at taking my money. When it comes to deliver what I wanted and promised that's a totally different story. He would never give me a straight and honest answer. Sorry thats just the way I see it. The company should give me back some of my money. The company has no integrety.
This company operates like a scam
This company operates like a scam. They begin by pitching impressive ideas for your book and the publishing process, but once it’s time to deliver, the communication stops. They stop calling, they ignore your calls, and they fail to respond to emails. On the rare occasions they do reply, the information is misleading or outright false. They consistently fail to follow through on their promises. They even guaranteed they would sell 3,000–3,500 copies of my book or refund my money — another empty promise.
The company does NOT deliver on its…
The company does NOT deliver on its promises nor does it keep their contractual obligations. They keep wanting more money and deliver a fat goose egg as the results. Their representatives string you along with one false promise and statement after another.
For example, this is straight out of the contract:
C. NUMBER OF COPIES
This Agreement for the distribution of 1,750 – 1,999 paperback copies.
Nope, never happened and never will.
G. ROYALTIES
The total amount to be paid to the author is $28,000, payable by the distributors
Never happened

Never happened.
Bottom line, they are a scam so save your money. I spent my hard-earned money for nothing.
scam artists and losers
never give a dime to these scam artists. They are nothing but con-artists. They promise you the moon and stars and after paying thousands for marketing, they will do literally nothing. They offer a money back guarantee which is total bs. beware of these fake marketing companies esp this one. They take advantage of authors and everyone tries to sound professional etc. It's part of their scam.
SCAM SCAM SCAM
SCAM SCAM SCAM
They offer 2 services -- one to ghostwrite books and another to help with publishing and marketing.
I was suckered into the latter -- marketing the book I'd already written. At the time, their trustpilot score was really good... but apparently, no one had yet run full circle with them to discover they never finish, never complete their commitments and don't deliver or honor the guarantee.
I wrote my own book and they were going to market it. They guaranteed that I would have "n"+ sales.
In fairness, they did create content (though I had to do the website myself, since they never completed it). They also supplied an editor who really did do a full run of the book.
But they never ran their social media campaign. They never ran the advertising campaign. I did all the finalization work on the book including publishing since their book formatter consistently made errors and corrected only half when I'd review while also introducing more.
My liaison, Travis, is a charming guy, but in the end, a snake oil salesman. Lots of promises, no delivery and ultimately, ghosting.
I don't know how these people can live with themselves.
Untruthful and Deceptive
They took a large amount of money from me and promised a great marketing campaign and did virtually nothing they promised me. I was extremely disappointed in their services. Oh, then they ghosted me when I tried to follow-up.
I paid 5,000 to have my book published
I paid 5,000 to have my book published. They had a contract that says if they do not sell 1,000 books in 6 months you can get a full refund. Not even close. In fact my book is still selling and I believe they are stealing my royalties since I have a friend that bought one and also I have received no money in my bank account fore 3 or more months. The people there are either of Indian or Pakastan descent by the accent. Do not trust this company. Harvey Jones A Simple Kansas. I survived!
Americas Book Writing - DO NOT TRUST THEM
Americas Book Writing is a mixed bag of publishing packages. On the positive side, they did a good job on creating and hosting/supporting my author website. However, I invested $xx,xxx on what they called global distribution. I was promised that I would at least double my investment and that I would have been crazy to turn down this package. However, I have not seen a dime from it. I requested a "cash out" for the global distribution over a month ago and was told that I had $xx,xxx coming to me. An ABW rep had given their word that I would be getting the "cash out" on three occasions. Once I called them on it, I have been ghosted and have not heard from them.
DO NOT TRUST Americas Book Writing with this kind of publishing package.
A Scam Company With A Pretty Webpage
I hired Americas Book Writing at the Platinum Level to help market my new book which was just being published. My book received several excellent reviews on Amazon, but this company broke its promise to me of selling a guaranteed 6,000 books. In fact, they sold exactly ZERO books for me.
My contract stated that 40% of my investment would go directly to advertising. In my case, I paid $7,500.00, which calculates to a healthy $3,000.00. This was a lie, as not a penny of my investment was spent on advertising. They couldn't even put a keyword campaign together for me.
Following a request to my representative to assist me with a simple cover design on Lulu, they entirely botched the job. At this point, I requested a refund, to which they responded with a phony contract for 2,500 book sales in NYC. (The contract date passed, and they told me the deal had fallen through.)
As I persisted with a request to honor their contract and return my funds, they ceased communication with me. Even the homepage chat refused to answer my messages.
Upon investigation, I discovered that the two addresses of this company, (the one on the homepage and the other under the name Silicon Tech, were both fake.)
Fellow writer, there are other resources out there that are legit, but America's Book Writing is not one of them. Save yourself a world of hurt and avoid them like the plague.
Do not give them anything huge scam
They take advantage of people pretty badly. Never give them any money because once you do, they won’t do anything. They have a guarantee of sales but don’t fulfill this. They will constantly ask you to upgrade or pay thousands of dollars more. They handed my project off to someone else and he asked for another 1500 just for web hosting when Godaddy charges this for 100 dollars.
When I didn’t pay he didn’t do anything. I already paid 2000 for marketing and nothing was done. Once someone made a comment such as “we’re still doing this even though you already paid.” They’re a big scam and do not give them a dime.
Undeniably a Scam
Lots of false promises, and even though you sign a contract guaranteeing sales or your money back, they’ll ghost you after they make 0 sales and you will NOT get your money back. It’s a scam, please avoid. (Was with them for a year and no sales, but lots of attempts at upselling)
Beware
Beware! Beware!
Definitely avoid this company ABW
(American Bookwriting) that promises, but does not deliver. I paid a substantial amount of money to them …….and then I was ghosted. They went dark. No Communication. Jay Cooper, Ben Andrews, Michael Kenway, and Rachel Hayes are individuals who string you along, stall, delay, make more promises and then poof… they are gone. They completely failed the “Golden Rule” standard.
They showed a lack of integrity, honor, and professionalism. I lost the bulk of my money I sent to them. Do not be fooled. Avoid them. They are not trustworthy.
Michael Lee
Stay away from them
Stay away from them. Don’t be fooled. They have marketing packages yet are unable to market your books without you having to pay money for additional plug ins. They are a huge scam. They will keep asking for more money and it’s absurd. I paid for a package and it wasn’t enough. They want thousands more dollars and act like it’s no big deal.
Run around
It seems like their game is to mess up people’s book project and then when People try to cancel, they turn into Ghost.
They don’t even have a website, so you can download your manuscript. I told them that if you email the manuscript the margins and pictures will be off. Also, they stall your project and try to get more money out of you for a promotional campaign. They claim to have all these people that can help you with your illustrations, but they get the pictures from other people work.
When I went to their website, I could not find any of the books on their website or in stores. Check for yourself.

It is a total scam
It is a total scam. Watch out for Lena, Travis, and Jack. They use a sophisticated scam technique where they seem to be honest and work in the beginning and then drag things out and give you a contract that looks real. They ask for money for things that seem legitimate. The contracts are fake, the things they say they do are mostly fake. They only do work in the beginning to hook you. They prey on authors. Stay away.
A COMPLETE SCAM
A COMPLETE SCAM! These people are reprehensible! Don’t go anywhere near them. They will outright lie, make promises they have no intention of keeping, and when it comes to marketing books they are beyond incompetent. I paid a sizable fee for ABW to market a kids book with outstanding reader reviews, but after eight months they hadn’t sold even a single copy. Not one! What’s more, the contract called for a full refund if the sales commitment wasn’t met, yet they refuse to honor that contract. They even issued a receipt claiming to have processed the refund when, in fact, the receipt was phony, like everything else about these people. I also paid additional fees for web services which (big surprise!) they refuse to honor or support as well. Furthermore, they don’t even respond to phone calls, texts, or emails. That is to say they are spineless as well as being consummate rip-off artists. Actions that are illegal, unethical, and highly unprofessional, all of which adds up to an F rating with BBB. Steer clear!
on November 23, 2024 I still have not heard anything from this company about returning my $8000 to my credit card for the best roadmap so plan that they could not and would not fulfill! And I'm very angry
still have not returned my $8000 to my credit card as they said they would do and also send me email confirmations. It was gonna get done!!!!!!! this company will improve and become better business people when they keep their word and don't lie to the customers just to get them to spend a hot earn money on something that they know they can't do! They truly suck at me as a blind man to make me think that I was gonna have
Urgent Complaint and Call for Investigation into Americas Writing Books
I am compelled to issue a grave warning regarding "Americas Writing Books." My experience indicates that this company operates as a predatory entity, exploiting inexperienced authors through deceitful business practices and unfulfilled promises. Initially, they entice authors with assurances of significant exposure through reputable media outlets, only to deliver content of questionable value, purportedly generated by artificial intelligence, and posted on obscure online platforms.
Further aggravating their unethical practices, Americas Writing Books pressures clients into additional financial commitments to gain access to more prestigious publications. This pattern of behavior is misleading and manipulative. Additionally, their advertised refund policy, which promises restitution should sales targets not be met, is blatantly disregarded and proves to be another facet of their deceptive operations.
Given these severe discrepancies and the potential for widespread harm to many aspiring writers, I am actively pursuing this matter with the California Attorney General’s Office. I believe that immediate action is required to investigate and potentially halt Americas Writing Books’ operations to prevent further exploitation.
I urge potential clients and relevant regulatory bodies to approach Americas Writing Books with extreme caution and to consider the significant evidence of their malpractices, which jeopardize not only financial investments but also the aspirations of novice authors.

Publishing with Americas was a great experience. Their thorough editing and beautiful design gave my book the professional finish I hoped for. It's now out there, reaching readers!
