Over priced for the lack of experience and service provided.

I was not going to submit a review because I wouldn't recommend them to anyone I know, but this company was overtly persistent in this review submission. So here it is....

I do not place blame on any individual or this company as a whole. I believe they are inexperienced and lacked knowledge on how to communicate efficiently what information they needed (and in what formatting) or how the overall process was going to go. Yet, there are deficiencies that are in-excusable as a professional company at the price-point they are expecting.

I initially wanted a re-design of my existing website, but was talked into moving my website to Wordpress, specifically because it comes without a monthly subscription fee. --- This is a misleading statement used as a predatory tactic by this company to obtain additional money from you throughout this process. Shame on me for believing without researching. Fees and subscriptions they do not disclose: Wordpress Hosting Subscription, Domain Name, Ecommerce Payment / Point of Sale terminals and subscriptions that come along with those, additionally, any-other plugin accessory you WANT (because you can get free ones).

I went from an all-in-one website package with Shopify, to Wordpress (no fault of theirs) and I probably will be paying at least the same if not more for my first year with this website as I did with Shopify. Solely because I paid for additional "help me" plugins to teach myself and save me time until I can manage this new system entirely.

I refused all of the extra items they wanted to charge me. For example, to add in my instagram feed, they priced it around $250. I used a free plugin and added it myself within an hour.

Their communication is subpar. In the beginning I assumed that the lack of professionalism was due to the fact that they are better website builders than they are on the customer service side. I am an idiot for assuming this. A few examples include using terminology specific to website building and coding, without the means of being able to "dumb it down" or answer any questions that aren't surface level. Additionally, on the website I paid for and had admin rights on, I make them a user account were they also had admin rights and they remove my account and take away my admin rights without notice or explanation.

Another noteworthy interaction: A paid plugin was needed to send emails after receiving orders, and I was told I needed to contact Wordpress to ask for it for free. Only until I got irritated and stated that I was no longer admin to the website and that I paid them for these tasks did they do it themselves.

Website building: I was only given the instruction to email them images (on a word document) and my products. I decided to send them a csv file with images embedded as hyperlinks instead. They couldn't figure out the hyperlinks (I didn't press enter after each one, allowing them to be clickable, yet they were all still valid urls). The company did complain about having to convert my image files from iphones format to a jpeg, but I would've sent jpeg's if they had specified any format.

Lastly, before giving my back my website, they wanted a signed contract stating I am unable to process any disputes and that everything was completed in finality blah blah blah. I refused to sign until they gave me back my admin rights. I removed their access and cut ties....

I am not redoing my website with the shell of the information they uploaded onto wordpress. Was the website they provided workable, yes. Was it worth the price I paid for it, no. Was any of this worth the amount of time it took from me to pay them for the work, no.

I can't get my money or my time back from this experience... but I can help you decide. Unless your website is a landing page and you're completely helpless with a endless pocket full of cash, Do not even waste your breath.

I was looking for a website designer and they contacted me. They were able to address all my needs for my site and created a very professional website that has been very easy to navigate.

John was absolutely amazing. He was extremely patient, and very thorough. I didn’t have much knowledge on websites. He explained everything to me. It was always accessible. He made his self unavailable for every question every concern. His professional professionalism was top-notch and I’m looking forward to working with him

The team was very responsive with the creation and corrections to our the newly built site. The price AWG charged was phenomenal and unchallenged. So far so good. We are very thankful and appreciate the work and attention that was put into our website. I am in hopes that the attention will remain the same post the building of our site.

Team was very awesome and professional. Everything I asked for was changed and was done in a timely manner. If something was wrong they fixed the issue and they even tested the issue before letting me know the issue was fixed. My website is great. There are many options for the website if you choose to buy them highly recommend them to build your website. Great customer service very prompt very willing to get things done easy to work with.

Very patient with us. We are new to this and they walked us through it so easily. Great people, great performance, very pleasant to talk to. I am very satisfied.

They got my website up and running in very fast timing after it was hacked. Also hooked up my email very quickly so I can work again. Thank you. I am grateful.

After taking my money for developing a website, they sent a quick mockup that could have been done in a half an hour on Canva. They then said they couldn't start development until I signed up for their hosting plan, which they offered at twice the price I was quoted. I then requested to have my money returned, which they finally did months later after I filed a dispute with my credit card company.

I would not recommend using them.

Some additional information that might be helpful. There appear to be multiple web development companies (American Web Geeks, American Web Designers, All Branding Solutions, and possibly some others) all having the same address of 5301 Alpha Road - Suite 80 - Dallas, TX 75240, which appears to be a virtual office. These companies appear to have multiple bad reviews, with customers citing similar experiences.

Update: While American Web Geeks claims that American Web Designers is located in St. Louis, there are multiple web references to them being located at the same address.

EDIT AFTER RESPONSE BY COMPANY: 3:30PM DALLAS TIME - MARCH 19, 2025
I phoned this company two hours ago and reached a man claiming to be "Peter". When I asked for his full name he was reluctant, then said, "Thompson". I asked if that was his real name and he said he was "Canadian". (His accent was not Canadian: French or English or otherwise.)
I asked him if they had offices at their Dallas, Texas location they list on their website. He said they did. I asked him if he was at that location and he said, "Not right now." I again asked, "But you have offices and personnel at that location?" He again said yes they did. I then told him that a colleague was going to stop by and meet with someone there this afternoon and who would he be meeting with? The man didn't want to answer the question and finally said, "The front Desk."
WE HAVE ALREADY CONFIRMED THAT THIS COMPANY HAS NO OFFICES OR ANY OFFICERS OR ANYTHING ELSE AT THIS FALSE LOCATION. WE HAVE INTERVIEWED OTHER BUSINESSES AND TENANTS OF THAT BUILDING/ COMPLEX. WE HAVE ALSO DISCUSSED WITH THE BUILDING OWNER/ MANAGER. EVERYTHING THIS MAN SAID - FAKE NAMED PETER THOMPSON - WAS/IS A LIE.
This company's response is quite sad, as they are indeed committing fraud. They do not even put a name to their response. If they did, it would be a fake name.
The are not licensed to conduct business anywhere in the U.S. and if they had a license they would place it here to prove it in their response. But lets ask them here to provide that license they claim, as they must do so upon request and it should also name the officers of the company and provide their contact info, also required by law and public knowledge.
Lets see if they do it.
They are claiming "Defamation" and as we continue to try to educate TrustPilot Staff on the topic: ONE CAN NOT DEFAME A FAKE COMPANY, NOR A PERSON USING A FAKE NAME.
Read on folks, and ask yourselves why this company would have to lie about their names, their location, etc. etc,?? Unless it is in order to fool and to steal.
They were right, it does not say they have 450 Reviews on Trustpilot - 450 total - BUT THEY ONLY HAVE TWO FAKE ONES ON THEIR WEBSITE AND AS YOU SCROLL EITHER WAY THATS ALL YOU SEE! AND PLEASE VIEW THEIR FIVE STAR REVIEWS HERE - TRY TO LOCATE THOSE PEOPLE AS THOSE ALSO APPEAR TO BE FAKE. (But the REAL, TRUTHFUL REVIEWS tell what this fake company is up to. Read those please.)

Beware of this company - they have a forwarded VOIP phone number that they don't answer when eastern Europe and Asia are sleeping. These people ARE NOT in the U.S. and they have no license to conduct business here, anywhere.
They claim they have 450 reviews on Trustpilot when they have only 28. (All five star reviews here appear to be fake.) They claim to have been in business for many years, but their website was actually built this year - 2025. They have no offices or personnel at their fake Dallas Texas office they list on their website. They have no license in Texas to conduct business and we have not been able to locate any license for them, anywhere.)
These people appear to be the same as several of those we have reviewed here. (American Web Design Studio stole $6500 from us, cost us a year and over $40K, then destroyed our five websites and reregistered the domains that we have owned for over a decade in Pakistan, after we refused topay more extortion money.)
These are the same people. Read all of our reviews here regarding fake web design companies.
Their websites are all almost identical. They all boast web design services that they do not provide, with fake testimonials on their website. They also place fake five star reviews here that Trust Pilot allows. They also allow any negative reviews to be flagged and removed, so these proven fraudulent companies can continue to fool and steal.
DON'T BE FOOLED - BEFORE EVER GIVING ANY COMPANY ANY MONEY, CONFIRM THEIR REAL NAMES WITH IDENTIFICATIONS AND MAKE THEM PROVDE THEIR REGISTERED BUSINESS LICENSE - IF THEY REFUSE OR CAN NOT DO SO - DO NOT TRUST AND DO NOT PAY.

Everyone jumped on board and got us running looking GREAT! Saif, Peter and the whole team were attentive and reacted promptly to any "tweaks" we needed made. Really helpful in getting our "Donations" links set up with Stripe, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, etc. We are already talking to them about another website (or maybe 2!!) We had tried a couple other "value" companies who turned out to be less than competent, But American Web Geeks were very affordable and produced an excellent result for us.

If I could do less than 1- Star, then I would!! Peter and Zach were "helping" me establish a site. I've never been able to use and they stopped reaching out...... I'd either like a refund or extend my service and do right by our "contract". SO FAR, BAD FOR BUSINESS...... THIEVES........ SCAMMERS..... FRAUDS

I recently worked with Saif on updating my website and am very pleased. He was easy to reach and get the changes made we would discuss. I think he went above and beyond what he could have easily dismissed but did not. Thank you for helping me.

They did not follow through on what was promised. Paid for 4 weeks of posts and only received 3. Their posts were garbage, they used the free templates on Canvas. Very disappointed. Their “top” content only reached 100 accounts. Thought I was working with Professionals…

So far so good. Quick and went with my ideas. Awaiting my end result design.
