The Amarok team have a wealth of knowledge with each adventure they take you on. I can’t imagine the amount of time and research that must go into each expedition before we even arrive. Within the first day you feel at home and safe with their ability. They are highly skilled and train regularly to keep their groups safe.
I have just finished my second trip with them. Because of Amarok I have found a passion for exploring and I know that with Amarok, when they say ‘expedition’ they mean blazing new trails that have never been done before. Literally. Awesome Amarok!

Our group of seven friends had the incredible opportunity to take a private two-day tour to the Highlands of Iceland with Amarok Adventures, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience!

From the moment we met our guide, Mónica, we knew we were in for an unforgettable journey. Her deep knowledge of the landscape, culture, and history of Iceland made each stop feel like a fascinating discovery. Mónica was not only an expert guide but also an easygoing and fun person to spend time with, making our trip feel both adventurous and relaxed.

On Day 1, we explored the stunning Landmannalaugar, a place like no other! The colorful rhyolite mountains, the vast lava fields, and the serene hot springs were breathtaking. Mónica took us on a hike that suited our group’s pace, and we were able to soak in the natural beauty at every turn. We were also lucky enough to have some quiet time in the hot springs, the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploration.

The next day, we ventured into the enchanting Thórsmörk. The hike through the valley, surrounded by glaciers and towering mountains, was absolutely magical. We crossed rivers, marveled at the unique landscapes, and even spotted some wildlife. Mónica's ability to share the stories behind the land made us appreciate the place even more. Her care for safety and the environment really stood out, and we felt at ease knowing we were in such capable hands.

The small group experience made it feel very personalized, and we appreciated that Mónica tailored the tour to our interests. We also loved the fact that the trip was off the beaten path, giving us a chance to see Iceland’s natural beauty without the crowds.

I did the Faroe Islands Hiking and Sailing trip with Alberto and Monica and it was awesome! Great itinerary, accommodations, food, leadership, and fun! I recommend Amarok and would certainly do another adventure with them!

We took the Hidden Trails backpacking tour with Amarok Adventures last August and it was simply amazing. Our guide, Monica, was incredibly knowledgable and caring and made the experience very enjoyable. She always put safety first and was very knowledgeable about the areas. I highly recommend this company and would definitely do other tours with them if I would come back to Iceland!
