About Us
Alloway Timber & Builders Merchants was founded in 1971 by Joe Alloway (senior). He started the business from the back garden of his parents’ house in Fulham and in 1973 he expanded by opening our Putney Branch, where we still trade from today.
Our Purpose
We offer an impressive range covering softwoods, MDF, hardwoods, skirtings, and architraves, to aggregates, blocks, bricks, and lintels. In essence, all the materials you need for your construction project from start to finish, delivered via our extensive fleet including crane lorries.

"A Grade" timber products
Have been using Alloway for over 15 years. They have always been great on getting and delivering timber products for jobs and their timber is A grade timber. Their shop has a great selection of quality locks handles, screws and good pricing too plus the staff are always helpful.

Alloway Timber
We have been using Alloway Timber for a while now, they always do their best price, their products are excellent quality and their customer service is brilliant. Charlotte in the Sutton branch is helpful, professional and will always call back if needed (which is not often, she knows her stuff!) being honest, they are a great company and very personable, they get to know you and make you feel comfortable - so much better than the big chain companies out there.

Outstanding Service
This is the first job that Alloway have provide timber for our company. And they have proved very reliable. Incredible service, led by Catherine (Sales manager), and backed up by Drew in the branch that we are using. Since then Alloway are now providing timber to several of our other projects. Very professional, proactive and a pleasure to work with.

Alloway is an excellent wood merchant. Its stock is extensive and well organised. Its people are helpful, friendly and efficient. The delivery was perfect - and free!. Peter the driver and delivery person called in advance, was very friendly, and carried the wood to the location I wanted. Altogether great service.

Very good service, timer is in very good condition and nice and straight.
The delivery driver Peter was over and above helpful and helped me load the order into the property!
