Turnin them Bads
I have not had to claim anything so I don’t know how smoothly that process works but the app is easy and I have insurance so my kid can fish for the high school. I’m satisfied with what I have used so far.

Coverage made easy
Well, between my broker and the insurance company, finding and binding a policy, this was one of the fastest and easiest experiences Ive ever had in getting coverage.

Price and ease of finding insurance for older boats.
We had issues finding insurance for our boat. Former Insurance, Travelers after many years without claims cancelled our marine insurance because of one claim after many years with Travelers.

Ahoy Marine Insurance customer service folks were friendly, knowlegeable, and easy to work with. The Ahoy Staff, were especially helpful in asisting me with better understanding my Policy & the specifics of my Coverage.

Great Pricing, easy to use app!
After getting outrageous quotes from progressive, geico, and state farm. I decided to get a quote from Ahoy. What a difference in pricing. It was all done online, nice and easy to customize my coverage. It took about 10 minutes and had instant proof of coverage. Hopefully I don't have any claims but the app looks pretty to use to submit claims.

good price but hard to contact if there are any issues.
The insurance is good I think(I haven’t had to use it yet), the price is fair, the app is ok but there’s no way to renew the insurance anywhere through the app or the website that I could see. My insurance was not renewed because they needed paperwork from the DMV for my boat which is federally registered. So there’s no info at the DMV. The person I talked to was great but that was after a few weeks of trying to get ahold of someone via phone and by email(after my insurance had expired). The phone system is horrible. It puts you on hold for a few minutes then goes to voicemail but then you don’t get a callback. I would prefer to stay on hold until someone can answer the call.

It's been great so far but I didn't know I had towing available
I got a flat on the trailer and the AAA denied helping me.
So I called a tow truck and they charged me $135 to fix the flat
Would that have been covered with my Ahoy coverage?

Their application process was clear and straight forward and they answered any questions I had promptly. Which wasn't the case for a competitor.
They were also priced competitively which made the decision much easier.
