Adventure Base made our adventure not only possible but flawless! Our TMB itinerary was on target with nightly reservations and luggage drop offs daily on time. Beth was so personable and made her accessible to any questions we had. Don’t hesitate to plan your tour de Mont Blanc with AB! We highly recommend the process from start to the finish line!!

I recently went on an Adventure Base Gran Paradiso & Mont Blanc trip. Our Guide, Miha, was absolutely amazing and gave us an incredible week in the mountains even if we weren’t able to summit MB. His experience, expertise, warm nature, and genuine care to support us was incredible and I’d love to climb with him again in the future. We managed to summit Gran Paradsio but due to poor weather and rockfall conditions in the colouir, we didn’t attempt a summit of MB. Instead we spent the rest of the week doing a technical ridge one day, Allalinhorn in Switzerland another, and indoor climbing the last morning as the rain was really coming down. Given the situation, Miha did his very best to accommodate an alternative itinerary and we all really appreciate the efforts he put in.

The Base Camp experience was a little bizarre with 1 dinner and two breakfasts provided. The fridge was kept completely full for these few meals and so it was difficult to source and keep our own goods for our own meals during the week, we were also forbidden from using the stock! This necessitated the need to eat out for every evening meal which made the trip a little more expensive than I was initially hoping. Further, because we didn’t attempt Mont Blanc we spent a lot more time in the apartment than we expected and this compounded this issue further - it was generally impossible to do anything ourselves in the apartment apart from simple breakfasts - toast and cereal etc.

It was only during the trip that it became apparent that summiting MB during July and August is becoming increasingly unlikely due to the changing climate in Chamonix and how unstable the colouir is during these months. It would have been nice if Adventure Base made this more clear during the booking process and gave stats on summit success rates during each month. If you are going to book, as far as I understand, the best chance of summiting is in early June, or September.

In summary, the on mountain experience was amazing but I felt that we payed quite a high premium for access to the base camp apartment but didn’t get much value out of it.

I participated in Adventure Base's 11-day, guided version of the Tour de Mont Blanc. Overall, the experience was extremely memorable thanks to the good weather and our fantastic guide, Sole. She did a wonderful job of encouraging everyone through the trek and adapting the pace of each day to fit the group's mood. She also shared many interesting stories and facts about the area, including the best places to find yummy food! With respect to the tour itself, I appreciated the diversity of the routes and the different types of accommodations we stayed in as these two things made each day fresh and exciting. The only negative aspects were (a) I wasn't made aware of some additional costs beforehand (e.g., lunch and transport fees); and (b) it didn't seem like Adventure Base thoroughly screened group members with respect to their fitness for the trek (though I understand that is a difficult thing to do on paper). The latter point put a bit of damper on the trip when some people had to drop out. For this reason, I rated my experience with Adventure Base a 4 out of 5.

There aren’t really enough superlatives for this trip. The scenery is gorgeous, the climbing is tough and exhilarating, choice of refugi and hotels/hostels spot on. Fellow hikers were a great bunch and the star was really Marta, our smart, kind and fun guide. 6/5 from me and I’m coming back for more!

Great hosts (Calvin & Lucy) and centralised accommodation in Chamonix.
Very experienced and knowledgeable guides (Fabio and Tom) who made me feel safe at all times.
My only complaint is the established deviations from the itinerary which led to unexpected events and misunderstandings; this could be avoided by providing an up-to-date itinerary.

What an amazing experience with Adventure Base. We were welcomed at the base camp apartment by Calvin and Lucy who looked after us while in Chamonix. The food was amazing and they were so helpful!

We climbed Gran Paradiso in the first part of the week with our excellent guide Lars. He had a wealth of knowledge and helped us reach the summit with some amazing weather! After a days rest, we then started the ascent of Mont Blanc. We were then joined by a second guide Mikel who again was very experienced and aided us in reaching the summit. He had our safety as paramount at all times and was always on hand to answer our questions. The summit experience is something that I will never forget and our guides Lars and Mikel did everything they could to get us there so thank you!

After speaking to others in the mountain huts, it’s clear to see that Adventure base has thought a lot about the trip itinerary and has fine tuned it to give you the best chance of summit success on Mont Blanc.

Great company, great guides. Very well organised and laid out trip where we bagged not just one summit (Mont Blanc) but two in the same week with Gran Paradiso as well! Good job all around.

Booking through Adventure Base was simple and informative. Opted for Gran Paradiso and Mont Blanc mountain climbs. Leading up to the trip Beth answered any queries I had regarding equipment in a timely manner. Once trip was confirmed we received more information regarding the itinerary and kit list. This made it very easy to ensure we had all relevant items before we arrived. Adventure Base provide an App for you to use to check off a kit list and also give you a full itinerary of each day your there.

When we arrived to the chalet we were greeted by Calvin & Lucy. Who were both very friendly and welcoming. We arrived early and they allowed us to leave our luggage in the chalet until it was check in time. Calvin & Lucy were great hosts and always made sure we were attended to during meals times. All the cakes that were baked were delicious! When we returned from Gran Paradiso we were greeted with a lemon drizzle cake! Just what we needed after a few days of mountaineering. The room we stayed in was clean and had space to move around.

Although we ended up opting out of the Mont Blanc climb, Fabio was quick to fill in our days with fun activities. We rock climbed, did a ridge walk and mountaineered around aiguille du midi. We learnt a lot on these 3 days and will return next year to attempt to climb Mont Blanc. Fabio helped us summit Gran Paradiso and I was never in doubt regarding my safety. Fabio has a wealth of knowledge and is a very very experienced guide. Fabio had many stories to tell and kept the mood of the group high.

Can’t fault the Adventure Base Team. They accommodated us at every step and made us feel welcome! I look forward to booking many trips through Adventure Base over the coming years.

I did the Grand Paradiso and Mont Blanc trip with Adventure Base and it has been an awesome adventure! Our basecamp legends (Lucy and Calvin) looked after us very well( those cakes were amazing) and our guides Fabio and David did their best to make sure we have an unforgettable experience!

I had a great experience with Adventure Base. The response quick to my question emails/texts and organised the TMB according to my needs. They went beyond in the expected service. Last day they even brought my luggage to my hotel. Those extra things made a difference.

Just back from Gran Paradiso and Mont Blanc trek. An absolutely incredible if brutal experience! Shout out to our guides Alessandro on Gran Paradiso, David and Nacho on Mont Blanc - without whose knowledge, experience and encouragement we never would have made it to the summit. Smooth organisation with Adventure Base, would definitely recommend.

Our TMB experience was incredible and the staff at Adventure Base did an excellent job arranging the whole thing. We found their app to be a very useful tool both before and during the trip. The suggested kit list was spot on - we felt very prepared for all that we encountered. The suggested amount of time spent on the trail was somewhat ambitious for our group, as we stopped often for pictures and coffees, but we quickly were able to gauge what our actual expected travel time would be each day. Our evening accommodations were superb and we woke each day refreshed and ready to hit the trail again. The only suggestion I have is that people (especially those who move a bit on the slower side) might want to pack a lunch, or at least a somewhat substantial snack, every day. We were unable to get lunch at the refuges on 2 separate occasions, once because we hadn’t made a reservation (we didn’t know we needed one), and once because we arrived a short while after the kitchen had closed. Overall we had an amazing experience, and would recommend this tour, booked through Adventure Base, to anyone. Thanks!

I signed up for the Mont Blanc trip with Adventure Base, it was great, lots of information was shared before hand with a clear itinerary and great guides. It was hard work and you need to be physically very fit but saying that no previous mountaineering experience required is perhaps a little misleading.

Just back from a TMB highlights trek. It was honestly one of the best things I have ever done. Our guide Marta was exceptional. Full of energy with excellent knowledge of the trail. She did a great job leading our group.

The accomodation was excellent both in Chamonix and on the trail. Communication before the trip was great too.

The only thing I would say is that when I booked the trip it was for a group of 10 and on arrival the group was only 5 people. I wasn't expecting the numbers to be this small. But came away from the trip absolutely buzzing. I would highly recommend 👍

I have just come back from my trip where I summitted Gran Paradiso and Mont Blanc. Everything was great and would highly recommend Adventure Base. Our guides (David & Felix) for the week were really good, great guys and kept us very safe throughout. They showed great communication the whole time. We staying in the Pointe Isabelle hotel, 4 of us sharing a 2 bedroom suite. The hotel was really nice.

Amazing experience start to finish. All information provided made things super easy, the food and accommodation was really good. The guides Fabio and Catalin were great guys with plenty of experience. You are in safe hands comfortably with those two. Met some amazing people had a blast. The only negative thing is that it had to come to an end.
