Easy t communicate through out the all process ‘

It was a dreadful and stressful going through the process. Having been through the process in the past this was almost as stressful as buying a new house. I hope to god we never have to engage with Optima Legal ever again. They oozed incompetence from the start to the finish.

The questionnaires are poorly worded and confusing and probably ended up costing an extra £500 in interest due to delayed completion. Even the completion statement they sent out at the end was conflicting within itself. (they used attached an old statement with different figures to the one in the same letter for example).

This process would put me off going with a company that use Optima to run their mortgages. I would urge Halifax to move their legal requirements elsewhere.

Everything was conducted via online portal, which when you live somewhere with not great internet is not ideal.
It took quite a while to complete which meant our mortgage was not completed in time and we incurred an extra months interest to pay on top.
A quick phone call would have solved this problem!

The company is very helpful gives you a clear picture of what to expect and makes communication very easy for you.

I wanted to take the time to acknowledge the excellent customer service I received from Chris Hartley at Optima Legal whilst setting up my remortgage. I had been stuck going back and forth over email, round in circles on some due diligence. I had been calling daily the week before completion and repeatedly explaining my situation over and over again to different people and had become very frustrated with the process and worried that the offer would fall through. Chris called me and talked me through the steps required. He made everything very clear and went out of his way to get everything lined up for my remortgage. He resolved the issue in 2 short phone calls. We went through my case from start to finish and he pointed out some information that I had missed that had confused me and created a misunderstanding. He was kindness personified. He treated me like a human being not an item on a checklist. He was pragmatic and could see that my situation didn’t fit exactly into the standard operating procedure, but he used his experience and found a way to work with me to move forward. I am so grateful for the help he gave me. There is absolutely nothing to take the place of a good man.

RE- MORTGAGE SERVICES COULDN'T BE SIMPLER

I received online communication throughout the whole process of remortgaging. At first I was a little weary as I’m not that savvy using computers,however once I followed the instructions on setting up on the portal everything just fell into place.

I definitely will sign ✍️ post friends and family to this company as the services provided is awesome 🙌 simply the best.

Stressful time made easy and seamless.

Went through Fairway Mortgage Advice to re-mortgage and Optima was appointed as the solicitors dealing with the case.

Optima were extremely poor with communication and took ages to progress the case, which ultimately ended up with me being out of pocket on wasted mortgage advisor and solicitor fees, and I just remortgaged with my existing provider on a higher rate. If only I had done this to begin with.

When I was first passed to Optima, I provided everything possible in a short time frame due to the the limited time between when my existing mortgage finished and my new one expiring.

I informed Optima a month before my mortgage expired that I had been able to pay off a sum early, and they could proceed with the remortgage as there were no longer any early settlement fees, meanwhile asking if anything else was required from me and I was informed everything was okay.

I chased Optima a couple times asking for updates, and I was told the case was progressing, but I only actually got an update 5 weeks later to inform me they had started to draft the letter to Help-to-Buy.
I chased to highlight my dissapointment and I was informed I would be provided consistent updates, but I never recieved any additional communications other than updates in their portal.

After they did reach out to H2B, they informed me there was an issue with a form and I reached out to H2B to resolve - this took me 2-3 days to resolve and I then informed Optima so they could proceed.

Three weeks later Optima informed me that they had contacted Help-to-Buy again, by this time my mortgage had expired and I had an extension. It turns out H2B informed of some wrong information and although I called H2B to resolve immediately, it was clear that if I informed Optima it would be another three weeks for the case to picked up again.

It was clear that this was a lost cause, so I gave up.

If you get requested to use Optima as your solicitors, do not make a payment unless you are willing to spend a couple of months waiting for things to progress.

They did a good job dealing with our conveyancing. They are not easy to get hold of on the phone which is challenging at the best of times.

Effortlessly done. All the hard work was done by the lawyers. After submitting the required documents at the onset. I didn’t do anything else until I was notified of the completion. Smooth and seamless.

Extremely disappointing experience with Optima Legal. I am now at the point where I need this matter urgently escalated and brought to completion.

Optima Legal was recommended by Barclays to handle my remortgage, so I expected a professional service and clear communication throughout the process. Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite.

The last update I received from Optima Legal was two weeks ago. Despite leaving message through the client portal since then, I have received no response and no meaningful update.

My existing mortgage expired on 31 July, and the continued delay is now causing me additional financial costs every single day. This is no longer simply frustrating or inconvenient — I am financially worse off because this matter has not been completed.

I am therefore asking Optima Legal to urgently escalate my case, provide a clear explanation of what remains outstanding, and confirm a firm remortgage completion date.

I would also expect Barclays, having recommended Optima Legal, to take an interest in how customers referred to this firm are being dealt with.

Optima Legal: please contact me urgently, take ownership of this matter, and confirm my completion date. Every further day of delay is costing me money.
