When I contacted 1gas I was immediately put at ease by being told all the facts and possible hurdles that applied to my situation.
National grids unwillingness to accept that a gas supply existed because out of date records did not show it,unwillingness to dig test holes.long time delays in getting replies to communications.confusion at national grids office and a long period of disruption to both myself and my neighbours when work finally comenced meant that it took 8 months to connect my house to the mains supply.Many a man would have turned around at several points and said sorry I cannot help you but Richard Hearne did not and thanks to his belief in my case,perseverance and at times very hard work I now owe him a large debt for getting the job done.

I can't fault 1Gas to be honest, and my point of contact Beverley was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

I would happily recommend them to anyone thinking about connecting to gas.

I would have scored this company a lot less had it not been for one employee; Leah Gaughran who really went the "extra mile" to make this connection happen, we had issues where the original request for the quote was lost / delayed, then the installers were given the wrong address the gas main then could not be located which resulted in the meter installer arriving before the gas connection was made, all of these issues were resolved by Leah very quickly and efficiently, she is a real asset to 1Gas and I do hope the management realise that.

I can honestly say that this company offered the best service I have ever received. Both Richard and Leah were great on the phone, gave me regular updates and chased the process for me. Add to that their contract and payment is all online, delays are kept to a minimum.

I had no gas connection at my home and needed one quickly because our old oil boiler was beyond repair and my family without heating and hot water. Richard promised to get things moving as quickly as possible - and we had a gas connection in two weeks at a competitive price! My gas boiler installer could not believe it.

As a comparison, the best British Gas could offer was 'send us a cheque, we'll come back to you in 3 weeks and we might connect you within 3 months'. No competition!

Many thanks to Richard and all at 1Gas; you really excelled and made a difference. If you need a gas connection; don't look anywhere else, just make 1Gas your first choice. Now, why can't all companies be this good?
