First contact with Zeitauktion was after a purchase of one watch from Chrono24, under warranty which had a small trouble. They have done all arrangements for repairs and after some time, received it back home in good condition, free of any charge from myself. Next time I was in doubt to make or not a trade-in with them but finally I've decided to try with one watch. Everything went very smoothly and unexpected fast. So, after that I've trade-in other two watches, same, as fast as possible. They offered fair prices, even tough bit low than a private sale but as I said, fair. Watches received from them were as described on site and plus 2 years warranty and certification, which is important for an expensive watch. So, appreciate their feedback and behaviour. Most likely, if I will decide to renew my collection, I will do it again with them.

I purchased a watch from Zeitauktion which arrived with a noticeable defect that was not disclosed and not visible in the product photos.

For a company specializing in pre-owned luxury watches, accuracy and transparency are supposed to be the foundation of trust. In this case, that trust was broken from the start.

Zeitauktion did offer to take the watch back, which may be acceptable for some buyers. However, returning an expensive watch is not a trivial matter. It requires arranging insured shipping, paperwork, and time (and for many luxury watch buyers who are often busy people, this is a significant inconvenience and cost).

When I explained that sending it back was not practical for me, the compensation offered was, in my view, unreasonably low compared to the defect.
After investing additional time to resolve the matter, I asked a partial reimbursement through my credit card provider — but due to how the credit card system processed it, the full amount was refunded. I then transferred the purchase amount back to Zeitauktion minus what I believed to be a fair and proportional deduction for the undisclosed defect and the time spent.

At that point, me as business owner myself I'd have apologized and offered a voucher to rebuild goodwill and potentially keep a customer for the long-term.
Rather than working toward a reasonable resolution — which would have been beneficial for them long-term— the company chose to escalate the situation through attorneys and a debt collection firm.
I was away for months when the debt collection started sending letters and by the time I got back, my letterbox filled with mail, it had already escalated.
I should have fought in court to show what truly happened, but fortunately for me and for them I have a busy life with better things to do.

But this has resulted in more wasted time, money, and an overall unnecessarily negative experience.

In the time since, I have purchased two additional watches, both from other sellers. That business could have gone to Zeitauktion. Instead, I am leaving this review and advising others to take my experience into account when considering a purchase.

Additional note:
After further use I also discovered that the watch loses several minutes per day, which is a major functional defect that was likewise not disclosed. For a retailer whose core business is evaluating and reselling pre-owned watches, this is difficult to excuse.

The watch broke down within a year

Very problematic stock management. I bought a watch and next morning received a message it is not in stocks. They refund the amount but it will take 10 business days. Risky to shop.

Ich habe eine meiner Uhren in Zahlung gegeben, da ich meine Sammlung verändern wollte. Das Ankaufangebot war für einen Händler wirklich gut. Noch am Tag des Eintreffens wurde die Uhr überprüft und am nächsten Tag hatte ich schon die neue Uhr.

Die bestellte Panerai war in perfektem Zustand.

Ho ricevuto oggi un fantastico Rolex Daytona 116519 del 2004.Sono estremamente soddisfatto sia dell’acquisto sia del servizio ricevuto dall’azienda. Una volta effettuato il pagamento tramite Chrono 24,l’orologio è arrivato in perfette condizioni,come da descrizione e addirittura un giorno in anticipo rispetto al previsto. Aggiungo che il venditore ha risposto in maniera esaustiva a tutte le mie domande in fase di trattativa,concludo consigliando caldamente questo negozio.

Refuse que l'avance 10 sec. / jour soit réglé hors de leur atelier. Je récupère l'objet et je ne parviens plus à régler la date comme avant...
Je la confie à mon horloger qui la transmet au SAV du fabricant Jaeger LeCoultre pour analyse : résultat révision complète plus changement de pièces dont... la couronne. Une facture de 1 360€ en plus pour avoir une montre vraiment garantie... Contacté ce "commerçant" incompétent, il n'a pas voulu m'indemniser prétendant que l'objet était d'occasion "En très bon état". Le seule proposition la reprise...
Passez votre chemin, l'atelier est incompétent contrairement à la publicité abusive.

Fast shipping ! Watch as described. Customer service accurate and quick. What can we ask more ?

Purchased Tag Carrera with blue leather alligator strap (shown as actual image on seller’s site). Promptly received watch shipped from Germany to US. Received watch with what appears to be cheap, synthetic strap. Seller apparently communicated such in shipping detail email post purchase that I missed. So after $375 in shipping & customs, I have a watch with a band that I would not have ordered if it was shown in the images on the site. Seller offered to refund a portion of cost for Tag strap in the photo- guess I’m on the hook to source and pay the difference, pay to ship and pay to change out straps.

Punch line, disregard photos and look for the fine print to determine how likely you may be to receive the item in the photos. Or, simply find another seller - I won’t purchase here again.
