If I could give 0 stars I would. Purchased a Nissan juke 71 plate 33,000 miles almost £300 per mth 11 month ago and had nothing but problems.
The car leaps forward and almost causing me to crash needing to slam the breaks on, had the gearbox reset multiple times to be told it is a fault off this model (Red flag)
Anti breaking system came on constantly needing a new camera/sensor.
We had to MOT the car 6 months after purchase. Advised tyre canister expired and would be replaced both times it was not replaced until i personally requested in person whilst it was in for one of many repairs.
Broke down 9 wks ago Alternator issue ( advised socket would be replaced not Alternator in full)
12th of July broke down yet again same issue Alternator!!!
We took out 2 year warranty at extra cost. both times broken down RAC has no record of my reg and had to use the AA at a cost to us.
We have now been informed 11 month of having the car only doing 2500 miles max that the break discs and pads are urgently needing done and a service at a cost of £784.
Then today we were informed when the alternator is replaced we will have to pay for the belt.
The manager Offered to buy the car from us £4000 cheaper than we paid and we would owe thr finance company £2000.
The Sales people will be lovely when trying to secure a sale however the after care is atrocious for example calling the service team 47 times with no answer is blatantly ignorant, No update or communication however as the customer we should understand how short staffed and busy they are.
DO NOT buy from Lookers Newcastle it will negatively effect your mental health, physical health and financially you will be destroyed as no offer of replacement unless you take out yet another agreement with them which means your locked in to 4 years of misery.
All of this is no lie or me being dramatic this is 11 month of hell and I’m warning others so you don’t have the issues we have had.
Left with no car and no clue when I will have.
My car went into Limp mode called the AA out they told me to take it to their preferred garage which i did as they said possible EGR issue.the EGR.
BMW had a recall on my car for a new EGR some 2 yrs previous and since then my turbos went BMW said it had nothing to do with them changing the EGR so i paid for new turbo's, well they told me if it was the EG~R they would do it FOC but somehow my car ended up costing me just shy of 9K BMW said it was the DPF then the EGR and god knows what else the car was with BMW more last year than i had it they fitted 4 or 5 faulty EGR's 4 turbo's between June 2025 and April 2026 i feel they werent sure what was wrong so they changed one thing to find out it wasnt that so then tried something else but charged me for everything i feel they were second guessing the issues the car has come out with faults it didnt have before that they say its nothing to do with them and the engine is noisy as hell i dont know what the hell they have done but the car is worse than it was before it went in. I no longer trust the car so feel ill just trade it in or sell it now its a 2015 X5 with 66K genuine miles but BMW have put me off my car altogether and maybe off BMWs forever. would never take my car to them again they gave me my car back 3 or 4 times saying it was fine but it had exhaust fumes coming in the car while you drove it BMW said oh its just the smell of the air fresheners they ended up changing faulty turbos or EGR's just terrible experience

Save your hard earned money for VW directly - quick to take your money and provide poor customer service after.
I bought a polo gti ‘approved used’ last summer.
Within a few weeks I had issues with the infotainment system. They said nothing was wrong.
Within a few months, the car left me stranded, unable to start it, in the middle of a roundabout with moving traffic. This happened consistently over several days and when I called Lookers, they said they were ‘too busy to see the car’ and to book in for over a month’s time. It was a safety concern which they did not care about. They told me if I wanted it seen quicker, I needed to call out roadside assistance which I did.
Into the garage it went and they suddenly said it needed a new turbo. Bear in mind this car had done just under 10,000 miles and supposedly gone through its 141 point check.
I was due to move house and they made it exceptionally hard to finish in time to move. They refused to deliver the vehicle to me so I had to wait, and move into other accommodation to pick up the car.
I stated the car was clearly sold with defects - the sales manager laughed in my face and said ‘absolutely not’. I wanted to sell it back for the price I paid, which they said they wouldn’t do.
Months later, still with severe infotainment issues, an oil leak was found at another Lookers garage. At this point it was time to sell it back.
They offered below market value and still stated nothing was wrong with the car. They said that the issues I’d consistently logged with them were nowhere to be seen. Done with the stress, I agreed to the sale.
Before collection, I was given written confirmation that payment would be made on the next working day following collection. I relied on this when agreeing to hand the vehicle over.
The vehicle was collected, I completed the DVLA transfer to them online at the point of collection, and handed over the V5C, keys and vehicle exactly as requested.
The agreed payment date then passed without payment. Instead of receiving the funds as promised, I had to repeatedly chase for updates. After this, I was informed there was an issue with the V5C and was later told that I should have “put the vehicle into trade - despite that being exactly what I had done using the DVLA’s online process.
Throughout the process, communication was poor, I received conflicting information from different members of staff, and I was left unnecessarily stressed chasing payment for a vehicle that was no longer in my possession.
My experience was disappointing - the sales manager, Jordan, and dealer principal, Lucy, seemed to lack any understanding of basic customer service.
Delays and administrative errors can happen, but when a customer has fulfilled every requirement asked of them, they should not be left chasing payment or dealing with contradictory explanations after handing over their vehicle.

Electronic documents made things easy and I would definitely recommend Lookers. You are an important person to them as a customer and get individual care and lots of time recognising that buying a car is a massive deal to most people.
I have visited Lookers Nissan in Sunderland before for a software update on my Juke. Turned up on time and before I knew it the car had gone off to the workshop. All OK so far.
A few weeks ago I noticed that the near side rear speaker was buzzing on certain bass frequencies. So while at the dealership then I asked if this could be rectified also. Yes was the reply. Unable to book the car in due to work commitments they said just call when you can. Excellent. I drove home.
So week commencing 6th July 2026 I called to get the speaker fixed. "Appointment" done for Tuesday 14th July at 11.30. I arrived at 11.20. Had the car booked in. Then sat down and waited for car to be done. Nearly 2 hours later I noticed that my car wasn't in the workshop through glass in viewing area. Service receptionist was walking through so I asked "where is my car?"
Yes you've guessed it. Car was still where I parked it upon arrival. This was rather upsetting as I had taken time away from work to get this trip from Redcar where I live, and the work done at the time of appointment. I asked for the dealer principal. After a couple of minutes defending the workshop he admitted this was unacceptable. Now, according to Google AI. the whole job only takes 35 minutes. Yes I was unhappy that the garage/dealership hadn't updated me to the state of backlogged work at the appropriate time of maybe 9am. They obviously new then what the state of play was and roughly when my speaker could be fitted but they didn't think to tell the customer. On top of that when booking my car in I specifically explained that the problem speaker was nearside rear. They obviously didn't listen to a word I said as the workshop paperwork said drivers side rear. There's nothing wrong with that one. Good job I spotted that. Anyway with the lack of response I decided to get my keys back and go home to do some work.
The dealer principal Andrew Nelson did try to persuade me to stay and have the work done but unfortunately my trust in the company had gone. I mean..... If they got this wrong how am I expected to trust them with a service or repair?
I did ask for my petrol money to be reimbursed. Mr Nelson agreed to do this reluctantly via an email link which would be sent to me. However it's yet to materialise.
Altogether not a good experience. I guess I've learned my lesson...... I shouldn't have bought a Nissan.
So ladies and gentlemen, members of the general public and Nissan owners. Avoid this place (Nissan Sunderland) unless you enjoy sitting around twiddling your thumbs for the day wondering what's happening to your car when nothing what so ever is happening to your car as it's still potentially in the car park!
I mean in today's times when business is hard to come by you'd be right to think that a large company like Lookers has things organised and planned! Sadly NO!

Easy to book, easy to get a suitable time. Drop off is hassle free and staff friendly and helpful.
Only down side was the car was to be washed but hadn't been, so I had to wait.

Lookers BMW Stoke - Waited 2 weeks for a refund on a car we bought which had already been sold! What is that all about?
Having booked a test drive for two used cars we attended and were told ‘sorry one has previously been sold some weeks before’! How is that even possible?
We then test drove the second choice car, liked it, spent 2 hours negotiating and agreeing a purchase package, left a £500 deposit and went home content only to be told the following day that the second car we actually test drove had also been sold before we tested it! Absolute melts, is this the way to run a business? It’s now been 2 weeks since this escapade and we are still waiting for our refund! Disgraceful and shows exactly how sorry they are. Be very careful of using this atrocious dealership. Incident being referred for legal intervention.
This has cost them a new iX3 and an i5 which I would have gone to them to discuss. Absolutely no way now, their lack of empathy and commitment to make their wrongdoing right is non existent. Be careful with your money!

Contacted Lookers about a warning heard twice whilst driving last weekend and asked them to do a diagnostic. This was done on Tuesday, but they were unable to identify any problem. There was no report of a problem when the diagnostic was run, and I was advised to contact them again if the problem recurs. The appointment was booked and carried out quickly.

Sif Ahmed was excellent to deal with - friendly & not too pushy, explained everything concisely. Also very patient in explaining all the technical controls at handover of vehicle. I have purchased several vehicles from Lomond/Lookers over the years & Sif was easily the best Sales Executive to conduct negotiations.

This is the second year that I have booked a service and has it confirmed by email only to have it cancelled 2 hours later because 'they dont have a space for that day'
I can only do Saturdays for service and when they rang to tell me they couldn't accommodate the day I had booked, I was offered a date 1 month later in August.
Like most people in the UK we tend to holiday in that period, the next offer was September a full 2 months after my original request.
Why was I able to book that date if it wasn't available??
Sorry to say my car is due to be changed and I may have to look elsewhere for a dealer that can honour the requests made for services

Our vehicle needed some work so we took it to Lookers Darlington.
From the initial phone call for advice and booking, to the final out come of the repair work, we could not have been better looked after.
The staff did everything they could to help and in doing so, went above and beyond the norm.
