Kaplan Westwood Los Angeles is not just an English school: it is a real community.

It is completely normal to feel nervous before leaving, especially if it is your first experience abroad on your own. But my advice is not to let fear stop you. Once you arrive, you realize there was nothing to be afraid of and, in the end, the real problem is that you will not want to leave.

I originally booked ten weeks, which might already sound like a long time to some people. However, it was not enough for me, so I decided to extend my experience and stay for a total of four months. Now that the end is getting closer, I wish I could stay even longer, just like many other people I met who even ended up staying for a whole year.

If you have the opportunity, I would definitely recommend doing this experience for a longer period of time rather than just a couple of weeks. Staying longer gives you the chance to really become part of the community, build stronger friendships and see a real improvement in your English. If possible, I would also recommend experiencing different periods of the year. Summer is definitely busier and full of energy, but I personally think that the months from September to May or June can be even better for studying. The school is less crowded, the classes are generally smaller and you have the opportunity to receive more attention and support from the teachers and staff.

At Kaplan Westwood Los Angeles, the staff are always there for you and ready to listen and help whenever you have a problem. The teachers help you improve your English in a fun and engaging way. There are many speaking activities during the lessons, which not only allow you to practise your English but also help you get to know your classmates and make new friends.

The most important advice I can give is: “Don’t be shy!”. You will hear this all the time at school, but it really does make a difference. Join conversations, ask people to go out and do not be afraid to suggest doing something together.

One of the things I loved most about Kaplan Westwood Los Angeles, besides the relationship I built with the teachers and the whole staff, was meeting people from all over the world and learning about cultures completely different from my own. I arrived at a time when there were not many Italian students and, honestly, I think that was lucky for me because it encouraged me to speak English every day.

I had the chance to build genuine and real friendships with French, German, Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese students, people I probably would never have met without this experience.

At the beginning, I found it difficult to have long conversations because I was afraid of making mistakes or embarrassing myself. But then I understood something very simple: we are all here to learn. Nobody will make fun of you if you make a mistake. If you meet someone whose English is better than yours, they will probably be happy to help and correct you.

So, don’t be shy, don’t be scared and get ready to start this amazing adventure. It could become one of the best experiences of your life and, just like me, you might reach the end wishing you did not have to go home yet.

Mi experiencia en KI Vancuver fue bastante agradable, los maestros son muy atentos, pacientes, divertidos, sus clases son muy diferentes y si necesitas otras cosas puedes pedir ayuda en recepción.
Lo único que no me gustó fue la residencia ya que la limpieza fue bastante deficiente y tuve que realizarla por mi cuenta

L inscription pour ma fille de 16 ans pour un stage de 3 semaines à NY a été facile et rapide. Chloé a su repondre a mes questions et me rassurer sur les points où J avai quelques inquiétudes. Le transfert aeroport-famille d accueil est un service pratique même si il est plus cher. La famille d accueil était impeccable et le quartier où résidait ma fille, très agréable. Le trajet était d environ 35-40 minutes en métro. La famille d accueil a accompagné notre fille chez kaplan a l aller et au retour les premiers jours, après elle y allait seul ou avec d autres étudiants. Les cours avaient lieu le matin, c est une option payante, mais bien pratique pour pouvoir visiter la ville.Les cours sont ludiques, les profs à l écoute. Un certificat est délivré en fin de séjour à condition d voir été suffisamment présent. Globalement, l experience a été très positive, notre fille est revenu épanouie, son anglais s est amélioré, elle a découvert un pays, une culture et s est Creer de nouvelles amitiés. Pour toutes ces raisons, je recommande kaplan .

My experience in Kaplan Bath was really great : it was a good place to learn English, the staff is lovely and helpfull. The city is perfect, not to big but lively and close to the countryside and my accommodation wasn’t bad. The school is reliable and very pleasant.

I absolutely loved attending Kaplan in Vancouver. I was only there for two weeks, but what a fantastic experience! My teacher was friendly and never let us get bored; he organised lots of fun activities to help us get to know our classmates and bond with one another. It's so beautiful share this experience with people from all over the world!

I make 6 weeks in Kaplan Vancouver. If you want improve your English that’s the good way. I don’t give a 5 stars beacause they have some small issue like I don’t receive my shedule the first day and I got one other expérience like that during my leçons

The worst accommodation experience of my life in Liverpool —simply indescribable. I am 41 years old and have traveled extensively, including trips abroad with Kaplan, but this place is just on another level. I tried for days to contact them and find a solution, but they gave me no support whatsoever. The room completely lacked ventilation, the window wouldn't open, and there was no air conditioning in the middle of August in Liverpool. Do not trust a single word they say, because they will treat you worse than dogs when it comes to where you sleep. Absolutely avoid. I have also photos as an evidence.

I met a lot of nice and friendly classmates and I learned to speak better englisch

Séjour linguistique 30+ réservé via Kaplan France pour Liverpool (août 2026). Grosse déception.
Le logement (résidence Vita Student) est déplorable et bien en dessous du niveau vendu : studio d'une catégorie inférieure à celle réservée et payée, pas de fenêtre ouvrable, climatiseur bruyant jour et nuit même à l'arrêt (nuits sans sommeil), vaisselle quasi inexistante, literie synthétique, salle de bains minuscule. Des conditions indignes... Réserver via Kaplan revient en plus bien plus cher que'un hotel 2-3*.
Côté école, les équipements sont réduits au strict minimum : les classes ne disposent pas de moyens pédagogiques modernes.
Malgré plusieurs relances écrites dès le premier jour, aucune solution ni relogement ne m'a été proposé, la « haute saison » étant systématiquement invoquée.J'ai le sentiment d'être piégée, sans possibilité de partir, car j'ai financé ce séjour avec mon CPF. Je déconseille fortement Kaplan, à quelque niveau que ce soit.
