Prompt delivery of my walking boots. I was kept informed of delivery date. I did have to return an item to store, very helpful staff

Firstly, I don't normally leave reviews etc on Trustpilot, but after visiting Blacks in Newport hight street I felt I had too. The level of service I received from Annie & Michelle was nothing more than jaw dropping. Absolutely outstanding. I went in for a winter jacket, but didn't really know which one.
Annie and Michelle took me through all the different variations. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I ended up with a Rab waterproof jacket, and it's amazing. All thanks to the wonderful staff at Blacks (Newport Isle of Wight)

I was served by Shell in Newport and was really impressed with the way she dealt with my problem. I had bought a pair of boots that were defective. There was no hassle and I was able to exchange them for another pair in a short time. A big thank you Shell!

Annie at Blacks in Newport Isle of Wight is especially helpful and charming. A great salesperson who helped me get a great Berghaus waterproof Gore-Tex jacket, waterproof Gore-Tex over-trousers, Gore-Tex gloves and a lovely pair of cargo trousers that zip off at the knees. Annie made the process easy and was lovely to deal with.

Walking into the shop, I was excited to see what was on offer.
When this lady came bowling out from a rail of clothes. I thought she was in a rush so I stopped, she just stared at me, no apology. I could see she worked there from her uniform. She just went back to the desk to chat with her colleague about being sweaty.
I found a wonderful Peter storm fleece and was really excited to buy it. This same older lady served me. She was miserable and unresponsive.
I'm happy with my purchase & putting it in my bag, she's waving my change and receipt at me impatiently. I got to the doorway and the alarm embarrassing went off. The older lady started telling me it may have a security tag, she took the purple fleece & then slowly removed the tag, slowly rolled up my fleece & eventually gave it slowly back. She had an awful attitude with no manner to apologise for not doing her job properly 😕 very disappointing experience in short.

The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. Great experience.

Extremely helpful lady who went out of her way to successfully resolve a problem with a pair of shoes previously ordered on line. She deserves a gold medal for customer service.

The lady who served me today (8 August) was very helpful. She suggested the walking shoes that I bought and also found me some very comfortable socks to go with them.

Turned up to I.o.w festival with tent , but no tent poles ! Went into blacks the staff were friendly , matt helped us beyond any usual service looking up the tent poles, what a credit to your company, very knowledgeable, friendly total asset to you.

Shaun was very helpful in finding the items I needed for a weekend trip, and was more than patient when it came to choosing certain items (back and forth).
I would definitely recommend using this store and its team for your outdoor needs!

I went to Blacks this morning to look at gaz camping stoves. I prefer to look at real things in a shop & to speak to real people rather than buy online. Shaun was really helpful, knowledgeable & kind. He helped me make a decision between two different stoves & offered to carry it out to my car (it was pouring with rain) I am very happy with my purchase- thanks to Shaun.

A good selection of outdoor clothing, reasonably priced.I am disabled and require advice about clothing, and was ably assisted by Annie and Clare to get the correct fit.
All round a good shopping experience.
