None of the docs, libraries, or drivers they sell work. I own many of their products, and I can never use anything they provide. 1000's of error, wont compile, and above all else half the boards you can't even upload to, even if you get this project to complie.

I purchased the Waveshare Entry Level Pico Sensor Kit from Pi Hut. The product contains not one single word of advice on how to use the product or even where to get information from. When I finally worked out that I had to go to their website to get the information, the downloadable information may as well have been written in Chinese for all the sense it makes, it is absolutely useless and I would advise anyone thinking of buying this product to think again. I would also advise Waveshare to look at how Freenove write tutorials, its an exemplar to the industry. Personally however, I will NEVER buy a Waveshare product again

I ordered an ESP32 10.1-inch panel from their Amazon storefront with no issues. I wanted to standardize a system around it, so I ordered 5 more directly from them. I paid their exorbitant 95 USD shipping fee. A few days later, I got an email saying they would prefer to send the items via DHL because FedEx was experiencing a high volume of packages. At this point, I'm getting suspicious but agree as long as I am refunded any difference in shipping. I received an email today asking for an additional 53 USD to ship the 5 small tablets to my address that regularly receives FedEx deliveries. They claim it's an additional fee from "DHL/FedEx/UPS".

I have been happy with their product. Their business practices can be described as nothing more than a bait-and-switch scam run by the worst kind of con artists. Avoid at all costs.

Ich habe bei Waveshare ein 5G-Modul (Quectel RM500U-CNV) sowie ein passendes HAT für den Raspberry Pi 5 gekauft. Beworben wird das Produkt mit Geschwindigkeiten von bis zu 2 Gbps. Tatsächlich erreiche ich nach wochenlanger Fehlersuche nur 3 Mbit/s, das sind weniger als 0,2% der beworbenen Leistung.
Ich habe systematisch alle externen Faktoren ausgeschlossen: Die gleiche SIM-Karte erreicht am gleichen Ort im Smartphone 100+ Mbit/s. Signal, Antennen, Stromversorgung, USB-Anschluss — alles überprüft und für gut befunden. Das Systemprotokoll zeigt zudem Hardwarefehler, die direkt vom Modul selbst stammen.
Der technische Support war eine Katastrophe. Über 5 Wochen hinweg wurde ich mit denselben widerlegten Argumenten hingehalten. Besonders absurd: Der Support forderte mich wiederholt auf, einen Befehl auszuführen (AT+QENG="servingcell"), der auf ihrem eigenen Produkt nicht unterstützt wird. Das sollte ein Hersteller wissen. In einer späteren Mail behauptete der Support, ich sei nicht im Netz registriert, obwohl ich das Gegenteil bereits mehrfach bewiesen hatte. Und als krönenden Abschluss empfahl mir Waveshare wörtlich: "selling your unwanted items in your local used market", also das defekte Produkt auf dem Gebrauchtmarkt weiterzuverkaufen.
Auf ihrer eigenen Website garantiert Waveshare: bei Qualitätsproblemen übernimmt der Verkäufer die Rücksendekosten. Das wurde mir trotz eindeutig nachgewiesenem Defekt verweigert. Stattdessen wurde ich mehrfach darauf hingewiesen, wie teuer der Versand nach China sei, als ob das mein Problem wäre.
Ich kann diesen Verkäufer nicht empfehlen. Wer ein Produkt kauft das nicht funktioniert, wird nicht unterstützt sondern hingehalten, bis man aufgibt.

Says examples provided. Sure, but they don't compile, and no amount of messing around with them and rewriting libraries for even the novice issues makes them go.

DO NOT BUY. I should have read the other reviews warning me of this first.

I purchased a UGV01 unit approximately two months ago. The unit exhibits a directional issue where it consistently veers to the left during operation.
Upon inspection, I identified a bent mechanical component that appears to be contributing to the issue. I documented this with photos and video evidence and submitted them to Waveshare support.
Since initiating contact, communication has been ongoing but has not resulted in a resolution. Responses have been delayed or attributed to holiday office closures, and the issue remains unresolved.
At this time, the unit is non-functional and cannot be used for its intended purpose. The situation has caused a delay in my planned project.

nice looking product but it's for Chinese citizens in China. There are no examples for VSCode or Arduino so it's a waste of money and mostly time for Americans to use it for anything in a timely fashion

+ Import tax + fee on under €100 order for WS goods that are available in stock from many EU resellers made my first order from WS directly to cost more than buying those goods from within an EU.
No point to keep an account active with them .

Bought a 7 inch screen for a Raspberry Pi 5. Crappy instructions but I did figure it out only to have a connector for the touch screen bend without any pressure from a cable tug and now the board connector is also damaged. I have gone back and forth with their customer service who keep stringing me along with onerous requests trying to frustrate me into submission and they have won. I give up now but will make sure i leave negative reviews for the crappy quality and poor customer support.

I paid for DHL shipping but the seller changed the courier to UPS without any notification.

Order date: February 17, 2026
UPS label created on March 2, then received the package only on March 5, almost 2 weeks later from order date.

The package finally arrived in Indonesia but delivery was delayed again because UPS considers my area a "remote area" and does not deliver daily.

UPS has very limited infrastructure in Indonesia compared to DHL, which results in unnecessary delays.

Changing the courier after the customer has already paid for DHL shipping is very unprofessional.

I’ve used a lot of different boards over the years, and Waveshare Electronics is one of those brands that feels consistently reliable. Their hardware has a solid build — clean PCBs, good soldering, and connectors that don’t feel flimsy.
Their ESP32-C5 boards are easy to work with and stable, and the Raspberry Pi CM5 carrier boards are really well thought out, especially when it comes to power, I/O access, and expandability. What stands out most is the amount of external I/O and expansion options they offer — displays, GPIO expanders, interfaces, and add-ons that actually make prototyping easier instead of more complicated. they have also good customer service , in the philippines you can use lazada for direct shipping

Bought RP2350A hours later realized I didn't actually need the item so I sent an email to request a refund not even 3 minutes later they respond and ask me to confirm if i wanted to refund since a 2.1 USD fee would be able to be refunded and I confirmed it and 2 minutes after that they said they'll arrange a refund just like that customer support was a 10/10 super fast response times!

Absolutely horrible. I placed a large order with premium shipping with fedex, they promised shipping in 4-5 working days and here I am 3 weeks later and still the product has not been dispatched and they keep making one excuses after the other. Even taking forever to cancel the order and refund. I know it is a legit company since they have several product in market but it seems they are scamming new customers

Ordered package from them registered mail. They refused to deliver to my post office box for supposedly "security reasons". Instead they wanted to switch to UPS and have it dropped off on a porch.

I declined that change and asked for my money back. They're keeping $25 for "handling".

I purchased a 7"touchscreen for my raspberry pi. Put the codes in to make it work and still got the same "black screen" result. Emailed them to try and get it programed or at least exchange it for a working one. They were no help at all, got to the point they stopped responding to my email. Did some research and I'm not the only one with this issue, seems like its a frequent thing and they don't do anything to try to fix it! Don't buy from them.

Order some items (27. sep. 2025) from them and selected UPS shipping, which I expected to have the same delivery time as from USA (3-4 days).

It is now 22. okt. 2025 and the tracking info says:
"Shipper created a label, UPS has not received the package yet."

Why the heck should I pay 40US$ for a 160$ order that would arrive at the same time as cheapest shipping price .. 6$ ?

BTW .. the same day I order from USA also using UPS . This package arrived 3 day later in Denmark.

The support helped me with my electronics issue quite quickly and when asking for an extra cable in the order, I got a mail asking whether they included the corrent one which i thought was really nice.
The product documentations are often very outdated or sometimes wrong, meaning you have to try things or hope someone else has already done so, they also havent been updated after I told the support about one mistake.

Ordered the Solar Power Manager (B), a Raspberry Pi Zero, and the Thermal Camera Hat from them on a weekend. Shipped to Germany in just over a week with consistent tracking updates by Yanwen and last-mile delivery by DHL (originally had picked UBI shipping method). Since it's directly from China it needs to pass customs and you are responsible for any fees. Despite the negative experiences others have had, I'd order from them again without thinking twice.
