UPDATE to Square Reply:
As I have shared in detail, there has been no one "support" me. That is the reason for this post, unfortunately.
I wrote this to SQUARE LOAN SUPPORT:
I took out a 120 day loan with you on 9/3/26.
The terms showed a minimum payment of $649 every month by the 3rd of the month. That means before Oct 3, you will take the total out of sales between Sep 3rd to Oct 3, or the balance of $649 that is not paid by Oct 3 will be taken out of my business checking account.
Today is Sep 23.
You have already taken $906.36 out of my sales, and the due date is not even until Oct 3.
That is $257.36 OVER the minimum amount I owe on this loan, due to your terms.
I would like the $257.36 deposited back into my business checking account, ending in 4867, immediately please.
This is deceptive and not ethical, in my opinion.
You didn't give me any more money on the loan than was agreed, yet you are taking more back in repayment than you set the terms for.
Thank you for your prompt response and deposit into my business checking account.

"Thanks for contacting us! I'm Bryant and I am reaching out to you on behalf of the Square Loans Team.
One of the benefits of a Square Loan is flexible repayments – paying a fixed percentage of daily card sales allows you to pay more when your business is busy and less if things slow down.
Your repayment rate will continue to be applied to your daily card sales even if your minimum payment has been met and until the loan is paid in full. We are unable to lower or stop your repayment rate outlined in your loan agreement.
However, you do need to meet the following minimum repayment requirements:
Minimum payment: A minimum of $649.00 of your initial loan balance must be paid every month. The fixed percentage of daily card sales applies towards the minimum payment. If there is any amount remaining when at the minimum payment due date, it will be debited from your Square balance, or your linked bank account if there’s insufficient balance. If you meet your minimum payment requirement for a given 30-day period, additional payments will be applied to your next month’s minimum payment. This helps your business make consistent repayment progress.
Loan Maturity: The loan balance must be repaid in full within 4 month of your approval date. Your exact Loan Maturity Date is reflected in your Loan Agreement.
The Square Loans team regularly monitors accounts and may contact you if you are close to missing a repayment deadline. You are also able to track the current progress of your minimum payments on your Square Dashboard.

WARNING!!!!BUSINESS OWNERS...stay far away from using square!!!they don't defend there customers when it comes to card disputes and you will never win one I had 1 in 15 years and lost $3775.00 and square got all the documents to fight and prove our case

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. A tax form on Square was incorrect and reported thousands of dollars as MY income to the IRS. Need a correction to a tax form? Sure, they have a process for that TWO MONTHS AGO AND DESPITE CALLS TO SQUARE AND THE FACT THAT THEY KNOW THE IRS IS WAITING FOR THE AMENDMENTS, THEY HAVEN'T DONE A DAMN THING now the IRS IS THREATENING TO SEND THE 'TAX BILL' TO COLLECTION. I can't do a damn thing to fix this since the amended forms--which I've been told SQUARE can fix and resubmit--but it's been 7 weeks and not one word from Square and a runaround when I call.

Prompt service follow-up and communication. Fast resolution with a reasonable amount of work and information for me to provide (with no inconvenience). Although it was written, I felt heard, and the representative (Les) was diligent in resolving it with a more-than-satisfactory outcome. Back in business in no time!

A weebly domain setup issue, which was resolved quickly and with outstanding customer care

It’s so bad. They only care for their sorry ass and not for the loyal merchant trying to make money online. I don’t freaking scam people and yet they hold my funds as “verification check” when I actually fulfill my sh*t. I hope this company falls. I don’t care what relationship you have with the card networks but you all need to get better services for your merchant because this is stupid.

Stop holding my effing money

I had a very positive experience with the Square Online and Weebly support team. The advocate who assisted me was extremely kind, professional, patient, and efficient throughout the entire process. They quickly understood the issue and helped resolve a situation that could have resulted in our website being blocked and becoming unusable. I truly appreciated the support, clear communication, and helpful guidance I received. Excellent service and a great customer support experience.

worst payment processor ever. Will gladly take my money, but the moment I want to withdraw, they review, ask for a bunch of documents which I provide, and decide to close my account even though I haven't broken any rules. Then they hold my money for 180 days. How about you do that upfront assholes! Very unethical.

I signed up for square payroll - they said I am ready to process - and after submitting first payroll they send me an email saying I am not qualified for payroll - WTF - is wrong with this

I was not able to pay my employees on time due to the incompetence of square payroll

I had valid FEIN state EDD

Now square is contesting my review - asks for more detail - such as transaction id - which they don’t provide

Here is the email I got from square - isn’t it great that they won’t even tell you what is wrong? I went with sure payroll online and right after I submitted they called me and verified me - and I was abale to run payroll same day - Square payroll need to learn from them

Square is holding $7326 of my business revenue and refusing to release it.
They deactivated my account on Feb 26,2026, and promising in writing to release my funds on Aug 25,2026. That date has passed , and they still have not transferred my money.

Their customer support is completely useless and sends generic responses. Holding my funds past the promised date is illegal and predatory.

Do not trust Square!! they will habd out your money like a slot machine! anyone can say they didnt do business with your company and Square will hand over your money! I am a small business and I am out 8 thousand dollars because square gave my money back! 4 thousand for the tires was given back and I had to pay for the tires. And to top it off the lady who got the tires picked them up at my shop now wants a warranty claim on one of the tires she said she didnt buy. And Square is ok with this!! do not trust these ppl they will screw you over! They will not give me the name of the bank if there is really a bank because Square has to protect them. Not me not their customer they have no business being trusted with anyones money!! They stole my money and gave it back to the woman that came to my shop and picked up the tires! she lied and no one gives a crap.

Garbage. Allowed fraudulent credit cards to go through on a $500 gift card purchase on their platform, then charged me $25 charge back plus processing fee.

Awesome customer service. The representative was able to find the issue with my account and corrected it immediately. Thank you again for all the help when i was in definite need of assistance .

I . had a question that needed answering but it was on the personal side but the customer support was really understanding and compassionate and seem like he really cared and that means we bought this day and age.

I use square for my Business and decided to get their American Express Business Credit card. I payed my balance and for the past 10 days I can’t use it. The card declines and I contact customer service & not one person taking my call can help. I get the same song and dance with every agent saying that they’ll advance my ticket and escalate the issue. I call back every day for nine days straight and not one person can tell me why I cannot use my card and every time I talk to somebody, they tell me to wait an additional three days. This by far is the worst experience I ever have and as soon as this gets resolved, I will be closing my account with Square and going to another establishment. Clover is looking fantastic at this point in time. I’m so disappointed.

Other than hardware which is based on iOS nothing else is good. If you're looking this POS for your Liquor store then I would say don't even think of buying this crap. Its good for a coffee shop, small clothing store, any business which have 100-200 SKU's. Customer service was good until I informed the sales rep about my business needs about the liquor store is very specific and it has to be in macro details. This POS miss out on many things such as on startup it would not ask you who is logging in (if you have multiple employees) It will not ask you what's the cash drawer opening balance for today. Adding an item is a headache specially if you have 1 item which has multiple variations for example Modelo beer 30 pack, 24 pack, 12 pack, 6 pack or singles. upon adding an item it doesnt give you a Distributor Code which is very important for a liquor store to have. Theres no such thing where you can view the past invoices and add invoices upon receiving the delivery. The sales rep upon signing up showed a different transaction rates and later when i figured it out it was way above what he promised. This POS doesnt even have live push notifications on the app most of the other Liquor POS have this feature which gives the owner peace of mine. For example if the product was added to cart and the employee deletes it then why was it deleted what was the reason? this pos doesn't have any such thing. The main screen is kind of small since its actually an ipad and the customer facing screen is also the same too small. I would not recommend this POS until they reach their mark with other liquor POS have to offer. Good Luck to Square and its sales team.

They do payments, but the new AI tools that are coming out and the new changes, have made Square my personal operating system for my business. There are new features each week, and when I compared my processing rates, if I had to pay for all of the marketing and tools, I would be paying more to use someone like stripe. Very happy now since 2017.
