Absolute ripoff and poor non existent customer service, book car online through Carjet then when you arrive to collect they charge you several hundred dollars more. Stay well clear. If I could give them zero I would. I wouldnt use Carjet or Redspot again.

Worst customer service. Didnt have a car ready. Didnt have a car set ready.
Took 40 minutes to get through the line and then waited another 20 minutes for a shuttle.

I got to Whitsundays Coast Airport only find good old redspot closed.
I paid a deposit but didn’t get a car as agreed because redspot were closed.
It really inconvenienced me as I had a strict appointment.
Neither me or workers will be using redspot ever again.

Fast and easy process

Good price and service at Newcastle Airport. Only problem was the car’s passenger seat couldn’t be raised and it was too low for the passenger. Otherwise everything was fine.

We rented a car from the Cairns CBD branch. May was super helpful and the process was simple and easy. It was our first experience driving a hybrid and we enjoyed that immensely. Thanks for the great service at an affordable price. From Joey and Bev

If nothing goes wrong with your rental car i'm sure this rental company would be fine, however if you have a problem there will not be any help offered and you may end up stranded.

I would warn against renting from Redspot. The car I rented got a flat tyre while I was far from home. The car was not equipped with a spare tyre. The roadside assistance towed the car and left me stranded far from home.

The manger refused to take my calls leaving me stranded around 3 hrs from home. There was almost 0 support offered and the office has been very difficult to get a hold of.

We hired a vehicle through CarJet, with the car supplied by Redspot at the airport. As part of our booking, we specifically requested and paid for one infant car seat and one child car seat, as we were travelling with two young children.

Based on the booking process and the information provided, we were under the impression that the child restraints would be installed in the vehicle or that assistance would at least be provided with their installation. However, when we arrived to collect the car, both car seats were simply left sitting next to the vehicle for us to install ourselves.

This was extremely disappointing, particularly after travelling with two young children and luggage. More importantly, correct installation of child restraints is a significant safety issue, and this responsibility should be made very clear to customers before they complete their booking.

We reviewed the terms and conditions, and we do not believe they make it sufficiently clear that customers are entirely responsible for installing the supplied child restraints themselves. Had this been clearly disclosed at the time of booking, we could have made an informed decision and made alternative arrangements.

If Redspot staff are unable to install child restraints due to company policy or liability reasons, then this needs to be clearly and prominently stated during the booking process. Customers should not be finding this out for the first time when they arrive at the airport with young children.

Overall, our experience with both CarJet and Redspot was disappointing and fell well below our expectations. Based on our experience, I would not recommend booking through either CarJet or Redspot, particularly for families requiring infant or child car seats. I would strongly suggest parents look elsewhere and choose a rental company that is completely transparent about its child-seat policies before taking payment.

Travelling with young children is already challenging enough. Families should not be faced with unexpected issues involving something as important as their children’s safety when collecting a rental vehicle.

Will always support an Australian owned and operated company who provides good service, competitive pricing and a sound product, all of which Redspot achieved. Best car rental company I have used, would highly recommend.

We were supplied with a Skoda (which we did not book) where the indicators and wipers were back-to-front.

The next challenge was that we were unable to locate the Navigation, which caused us a great deal of frustration getting around as we were not familiar with the area at all. Towards the end of our rental, due to no Navigation, we got lost on our way to the airport, running out of time to refuel the car and with a great deal of stress, almost missing our flight. We did ask the counter staff at Cairns Airport to please make allowance for the fact that we ran out of time to refuel and not charge us at the highest rate. We were, however, charged an exorbitant amount for fuel.

I called 3–4 times, and when they finally picked up, the staff were rude and hung up before I could even finish speaking.

I rented a car from Redspot at Sydney International Airport from 29 July to 7 August 2026.At collection I paid AUD 565.23, but I was not given a clear itemised invoice showing how this amount was calculated.After the rental, Redspot also claimed AUD 101.26 for tolls and administration fees. They later sent me a toll transaction table, but the figures in that table did not match the amount charged, and they did not clearly explain how the total was calculated.
I formally requested a complete itemised statement for all charges, but the matter is still under review.I have now lodged a complaint with NSW Fair Trading.
I will update this review if Redspot provides a complete explanation and resolves the issue.

Too many things to list. It was a longwinding painful experience. In Hindsight I wished I had booked Herz or Avis for a little extra.
First they downgraded us with no saving but promised free petrol. Then they charged us $200 for returning the tank half full. Got a refund for that after a battle. Then they charged us $2100 for a stone chip the size of a rice grain. Our Insurance only refunded us $1300 for the repair and the remaining $800 was claimed "loss of income". Zero communication. In all fairness, one staff we dealt with was nice but as a company I would absolutely stay away from them.

Desk staff friendly enough. But, complete deception and lack of communication and no option to gain the information required like ‘Invoices, payments taken, deposits not returned etc.
