I was just in the Gun Department of the Anchorage Cabela's.
I was just in the Gun Department, and I was ready to purchase a firearms if they had it in stock. I found the staff abysmal. They were not interested in the many customers standing around. They were not interested in me finding the gun that I wanted. They were generally rude with customers including me. Granted, some staff had customer, but there were several who were just "hanging out," and they could have answered my question instead of replying "just check on line." This will be my last visit to Cabela's Anchorage Gun, with whom I have bought three or so firearms, where I found the staff to be incredibly pleasant, knowledgeable, and very helpful.
Looking for Hey Dude boots and found…
Looking for Hey Dude boots and found them on Cabela's website a lot cheaper than other places. Placed my order, got immediate email. Got emails when the order shipped and when it would be delivered. Spot on, delivered just 2 days after I placed my order. Wonderful experience on their website as well as the product is perfect. Thanks Cabela!
BEWARE: CABELA'S PARTNERING WITH A SCAM TIMESHARE COMPANY!! HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!
I am deeply disappointed by Cabela's, a a brand I previously trusted for its integrity, due to its continued affiliation with Bluegreen Vacations, and allowing that scam timeshare company to operate inside their stores. They are also completely unresponsive to my 2 attempts to reach out to them regarding the fraud committed by Bluegreen that I was a victim of. I was approached by a Bluegreen representative inside a Cabela's store and, under false pretenses (a said 60-90 minute presentation that turned into a 6 hour high-pressure ordeal), was sold a timeshare ownership that was blatantly misrepresented. I was promised that my ownership points could be used in the Philippines, which was my primary reason for purchasing. After purchasing, I was told this was impossible unless I upgraded. So they just flat out lied to me! When I attempted to resolve this directly with Bluegreen, they were dismissive and unprofessional, even hanging up on me during the calls! That representatives name was Omari.
As a 90% disabled veteran on a fixed income, this has become a crushing financial and emotional burden, especially giving the undisclosed annual maintenance fee's significant increases. Despite reaching out to Cabela's for assistance to help rectify this fraudulent situation and reconsider their partnership with this sleazy company, I have received no meaningful support or responsiveness.Nothing at all. Cabelas's completely ignores my complaint and inquiry. Its disheartening that Cabelea's allows this company to operate within its stores, deceiving loyal customers. It makes me think twice before I do any business with Cabela's. If they continue to let Blue green be a part of their stores, Cabela's will start losing their loyal customers. I strongly urge Cabela's to take responsibility for their partnership, reevaluate their affiliation, and help me resolve this contract issue.
No "sameday pick-up" as advertise
No "sameday pick-up" as advertise. And whats makes the circunsctamce even more funny, the store have the item in hand, but they cant give it to you until the "online order" gets there.....
Very horrible service and staff
2 months aga
I am writing this review to warn others about the inconsistent and unreliable way this location handles FFL transfers.
Before arranging the transfer of a firearm to this store, I called in advance and fully explained my situation and documentation. I specifically asked whether they could complete the transfer and was clearly assured that there would be no problem.
After the firearm arrived at their store, they suddenly refused to process the transfer, claiming it violated a "corporate policy"—the exact opposite of what I had been told by their own staff before the shipment was sent.
The way I was treated left me feeling singled out and questioning whether prejudice played a role in how my case was handled. I cannot say for certain what motivated their decision, but the stark difference between what I was promised over the phone and how I was treated in person was deeply concerning.
As a result, I lost both time and money and now have to pay to have the firearm shipped back. Businesses that perform FFL transfers should provide accurate information and treat every customer fairly and consistently. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location.
It takes way too many times to contact for a simple refund on a return/cancellation
I have had to contact them 4 or 5 times now because of an order that was placed for a kayak online to ship to store and was going to take a long time. They wound up getting one in stock in a different color a couple days after the order, so I asked to cancel the one on order and buy the one that was in store. First, they said they can't refund until the order arrives at the store which is 5-10 business days. But then, they removed the order from my order history and never refunded me. They said they could see the order on their end, but I can't, and I don't get emails for the status. The last rep told me it was at the store 5 days ago and the refund request was already in. Then this rep today told me it wasn't at the store and I'd have to wait a minimum of another 5 days (it has been 2 weeks). I have talked to so many reps between this and another two related orders, though this particular order has been a topic of discussion during all. Regarding the other two orders, one was same day and shipped separate. That came in and the store didn't put the cancellation request through and so the website CSR had to, but I still don't have the refund on my card a week later. The other kayak was available same day, but I had to wait 2 hours at the store because they lost the seat, and the corporate website folks told them there was no seat even though it was in the listing.
This has been an entire nightmare and I just want it to be done. I understand that change of mind because of slower shipping is my fault, but no store on the planet needs to wait for something to arrive at store to cancel an order. This is insane. I would at least feel more comfortable to wait if I had any access to the order history for this order. It was in my order history before, but they deleted it. Understandably, I'm nervous and have no trust with this after all this. They offered me a $20 coupon for online/phone use only, but I will never shop online here again. Store only.
Finally the last time after asking if I could talk to a supervisor even if they just told me the same thing, the supervisor was able to override for the refund.
I understand that the reps are not at fault for the terrible order refund and cancellation practice at Cabelas.com nor are they at fault for the website issues mysteriously deleting orders. And they are not responsible for corporate not even knowing what comes with their own listings. The only thing that was a CSR error was the one rep who mistakenly told me that it was already at the store, and then the other kayak where nobody in the store but one person knew that they remove and store the kayak seats elsewhere apparently? which lead to the 2 hour debacle there. It was just cumulatively a not great experience with the Cabelas online store.
To all the CSR's credit, they all did try to help. But in the end, it took a manager in both the site to store pickup and the site to store cancellation to get things fixed. Having to ask made me feel like a jerk even though they thanked me for being patient. I didn't go Karen or anything, but inside this whole thing left me feeling very frustrated and distrustful of the Cabela's online site to store system and that as kind as the CSRs are, they can't really fix a flawed system.
Bought a NXR grill from Cabela's
Bought a NXR grill from Cabela's. Got sent wrong parts. Called Cabela's and was told to contact NXR. Called many times with no call back. Had to fabricate so I could put grill together. Will never buy a grill from Cabela's or NXR again. Buyers beware.
Verdi
Verdi, Nevada Cabela's. Purchased Blackstone 36" Grill 2322 as a gift to husband for Father's Day on 6/13/26. Opened it yesterday to assemble. It is very damaged. Scuff marks all over. Worst part, the grill is slightly twisted. Does not sit flush on the base. The corners of the hood are crushed in. Very disappointed. Now I have to disassemble. Hope I find one in stock Father's day weekend. Thanks Cabela.

they don’t care what is happening after the sale, no support no costumer service
Cabelas and Bass Pro Shop has a real…
Cabelas and Bass Pro Shop has a real problem with correctly matching cargo short color with their pictures. The 8 pocket cargo shorts are really nice and fit well but eh color is mis-labeled. If you order "Bungee Cord" color their picture shows a light brown color but what they send you is dark grey and also marked "Bungee Cord" but if you check the pictures, it's actually "Cinder" marked as Bungee Cord. If you reorder the same color, it still ends up dark grey or Cinder color. It's not the laptop problem, multiple computers same issue, it's the mis-labeling problem.

Discrimination of Veterans
My husband is a veteran, former law enforcement officer, and an employee of Cabela's. He has a diagnosed case of PTSD and utilizes a trained service dog as part of his treatment and daily functioning.
Despite presenting themselves as a veteran-supportive company, Cabela’s corporate HR denied his request to bring his service dog to work. The reasoning given was related to “heavy equipment,” however his role is in a retail environment and does not involve working around such machinery.
This service dog directly supports his ability to engage with customers and perform his job safely and effectively. Rather than exploring reasonable accommodations, he was told he could either transfer to a lower-paying, stationary role or continue without the service dog.
Additionally, there have been concerning comments made by management regarding individuals who rely on PTSD service dogs, which raises further questions about workplace culture and understanding of invisible disabilities.
This experience does not reflect the level of support for veterans that the company promotes publicly. I hope this is addressed appropriately so that other veterans do not face similar barriers.
Through the checkout I was Hassled…
Through the checkout I was Hassled about getting credit card. When I told her NO she would not accept my response. She explained how would get discounts on my merchandise. I finally gave in(NEVER AGAIN) FILLED OUT THE STUPID ONLINE CREDIT APP) Needless to say I would have to wait for the credit card to be Mailed to me. By then I was pissed! Went back to the cashier, told her she wasted my time , bought my merchandise through my one and only credit card. She did give me 10% off. whoop te Do!
Its been a hour since I left the Cabela's in La Vista and I 'm still upset! If someone tells you NO respect that decision!!!! Like my mom use to say NO Means NO! The cashier doesn't have any idea's about the customer financial situation. Get through the purchases and move on to the next customers. Piece of advice teach your employees better selling etique.
Totally incompetent, no customer service, won't communicate.
I responded to an ad on a gun listings site and called on the phone. They claimed they could see the ad themselves but had no such gun. Later that day they sent me an email saying they DID have it and to call back. Then they wanted to charge a higher price than was advertised. They backed down on that, took my info, then charged my card 2 days later. Then sent the gun to the wrong FFL, a place very far from me, despite the fact I gave them the FFL info in writing via email. The people they sent it to communicated or I wouldn't even know what happened. Repeated emails to both the addresses I'd dealt with earlier and to the parent company (Basspro) customer service were simply ignored. I called on the phone during normal business hours and was told somebody would get back to me the next day. That was a lie. Finally, after 2 weeks of this, I gave up and reversed the charges. I'll never deal with them - or any other Basspro owned business - again.
I went to Cabela’s to get a cover for…
I went to Cabela’s to get a cover for my bbq. They were on sale and of course they didn’t have it in stock. So I pre ordered it and had it shipped to the store. While I was there I stopped by the used gun department. I like seeing the old historical ones. Well this visit one stood out like crazy and it pulled on my heart strings. It was a SAA commemorative colt. My dad was 6th fastest draw in the US and this gun was similar to his including the white grips. It was in the same caliber and specs. They had it for 3500. I went home and researched the heck out of this gun. BUT I screwed up and didn’t get the model number. I also let my heart get in the way of sanity. So I went back and asked 1000 questions. Why was it in the wrong box? Why did it have white grips? Is this part of the combo with the Winchester rifle set. Where did you come up with this price? They had an answer to it all. But my heart was listening not my brain. I let them lie to me. The white grips were not original. This model came with walnut grips. They told me the grips were ivory, they’re resin. That this gun wasn’t the commemorative model that was supposed to come with a Winchester rifle. That the box it was in was given to Cabela’s with the gun so they displayed it in an incorrect box. They said they had a gun historian they call for guns like this and he set the price. They gave me a first responders discount. Plus another discount that brought it down to 3100.
I sat on a gun like this before. I didn’t buy it because I wanted to research and someone else bought it while I was researching. I was worried the same would happen again. My heart was completely in the way.
I contacted customer service and they had the store contact me. All used gun sales are final. They don’t care that they lied. They got lied to by the original owner so they lied to me. They wanted to argue and not accept the fact the grips were cheap resin. They told me the grips were ivory which was fraud. They also argued it was not the set. That this one was sold separately. (Lie) had it been the set the price would have been perfect. But alone the gun is valued at 1200 with the correct grips. I will NEVER shop at Cabela’s again. I don’t do business with liars .
Common item
Common item, out of stock again. Can't use my Cabela's cash again. Good thing there is a Fleet Farm nearby that is as good or better.
Greed over responsibility
First: don’t buy bows for target at Cabela. Cabela sends stuff for margin and they don’t care what is happening after the sale. Between Cabela and the parent who buys a compound bow that draws 50-70 lbs for a 14-year old with 0 experience in archery, the responsibility falls on the coach. Cabela doesn’t care if that child breaks a muscle or a joint because of their indifference. Shame!
very poor customer service!
very poor customer service!! store manager was horrible to complete a simple task! Columbus, Ohio store. Find elsewise to shop for your wants! horrible customer service at its finest! Gun counter manager is not what they call a manager, he's so uneducated at this position> False advertisement of item, then gun manager wanted to argue, he canceled my order and refunded! Beware consumer's!!! This Columbus, Ohio store is FAKE AS THEY CAN BE!!!! Will never shop there again! I was so kind to contact the Gun department manager for all the WONDERFUL SERVICE!!! He was so pleased to hear the feedback! KEEP UP THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

The worst experience ever! We returned a coat that was to be a warm winter coat as per the sales person their name brand coat. costs $150 on sale. We went home and this coat was any thing but warm! We returned the coat 11/20/25 and still have not receive our refund. We have called and emailed several times and they keep saying they are working on it. We told them they got the coat back 11/20/25 at 6:35AM. Still no refund as of 12/28/25.. If you purchase from them you better think twice about their lack of help in getting you money back. As of I, NO way will I ever go back to the store and buy anything...
