Extremely disappointing — particularly how a vulnerable long-term chronically unwell customer ,( who was moving due being a target of crime )was treated

I would not recommend Britannia Devereux based on my experience.

I booked them to pack and move my belongings into storage. I had made clear that I was a vulnerable customer and, because I had experienced a serious safety issue/crime at the property, I was unable to return there myself. A military friend I served with attended solely to provide access; detailed instructions had already been given to Britannia. Even the cubic metres that needed to be moved allowing for an additional hundred even though I knew having moved the year previous that size was being generous. They did not facilitate the number of movers needed or the boxes needed but still quoted based on the detail I gave paying over £900 to a one bedroom property 25 minutes.

Only two men attended despite the job having been discussed as requiring three. Afterwards, I discovered belongings had been left behind, fragile items had not been properly packed or protected, furniture and electronics were left inadequately protected, and the floor was not properly protected during the move. I have photographs, video and correspondence evidencing what happened.

What is worse is no attempt was made to cover the floor trampling thick mud through the property which exacerbated legal problems I was already having.

When I eventually raised this with Mike Bell, Removals Manager, his response was essentially that the service had been provided and there was nothing he could do. He also relied on the fact that damage had not been recorded on the job sheet.

That is particularly difficult to accept when I was not physically able to attend the property and had relied on a professional company to carry out the job properly.

I was simply asking Britannia to put right what had been left unresolved. Instead, my friend has had to spend his own time sorting out a mess left by a service I had already paid for.

The fact that I was a vulnerable customer, dealing with the aftermath of crime and unable to safely return to the property makes the lack of ownership and customer care particularly upsetting. I genuinely feel I was taken advantage of at an exceptionally difficult time.

I have now escalated the matter to Britannia’s Customer Relations team, who have confirmed that they are investigating.

Mistakes happen. What matters is how a company responds when something has gone wrong. In my experience, Mike Bell’s response was to reject responsibility rather than put it right. What’s worse as they knew I was a military Veteran.

The Britannia team quick, efficient and polite.

This is the second time I have used this company from their offices in Heckington, Lincolnshire. I wanted to just say every single aspect of my dealings with them was perfect, from ringing up to arrange a quote (Robyn/Katie remembered me!) to signing off the move as complete. The removal crew Mark adn Elliot were great, really efficient, professional and friendly as were the office team. I highly recommend and will be using them again. From start to finish, everything went smoothly

Contacted these guy's to move 26 packages about 500kg of goods to asia.
From John and Andy packing our goods in Staffordshire to those goods arriving with us in perfect condition i have to say the went above and beyond.
Matthew walked us through the whole process including insurance and showed great patience as we had no experience of such dealings.
Also lets add a war into the scenario and the world oceans in chaos..... but all our goods arrived in perfect condition.
Would recommend these guys to friends and family.

In what has been an horrendous experience regarding insurance repairs that have been ongoing through my insurance companies nominated companies.
My dealings with Brittannia Movers have been the only ones I would recommend.
They have kept me totally informed throughout and any queries or concerns I have had when I have spoken to Katie she has answered and dealt with them excellently.
Removal and return dates were on schedule on time and carried out excellently without any problems on the arranged dates by the staff on site

Kevin and Josh very good at the move. Unfortunately they could not get furniture into second bedroom because of the wardrobe needing a top srewed in place and I couldn't find screws. Have since found them and I will have to get someone here to do that so bed can be put down and the room sorted.

The company's people kept us informed during the whole process of what would happen and when it would happen. We could thus relax and know that the move was in good hands, and we experienced nothing that made us doubt this. Thank you!

Cheerfulness,politeness and efficiency of the packing team of two and the same goes for the loading and unloading of our kit. We were surprised at the speed and efficiency of all parts of the operation.

I was very impressed with the service I received from Britannia. They kept you informed right from the start to removal day. The 2 guys were pleasant and did a very good job with packing up.
I would recommend Britannia to anyone.

I am very happy with the effort put into making my move an easy and comfortable transition. Everything was done with care and consideration, and communication was excellent throughout. I would happily recommend the team anytime.

the men were careful, quick and polite.Nothing was broken or otherwise damaged on unpacking. No complaints at all. We'll never move again having moved to a retirement flat but if we were to we wouldn't hesitate to use Britannia Movers. Thoroughly satisfied with our experience.

I unfortunately was in hospital unexpectedly for the moving days. My Daughters have nothing but praise for all Britannia staff. They were professional,friendly,
and helpful.

We had a good move , weather on the hot side but the 6 men who did the work done an excellent job nothing was too much trouble put everything where we asked for it to go , I know most removal firms do a great job and we don’t move very often but if we ever move again Britannia movers will be our first choice and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone thank you regards Bob and Brenda capocci
