Good car except the inside of the front windscreen was not cleaned. Had to wipe it down myself. Also no hand over instructions on how to start or put the car in gear.

Good Value and an easy process…
On line booking and pre-check in was easy and made the car collection process quick and simple. Car return was just as quick and easy. The car provided, a GWM Haval, was almost new, as have been all the cars I have rented from Bargain, but I didn't like it as much as other cars I have rented. Nothing mechanically wrong with it.
The Darwin city site that I collected the car from was a bit tired and might turn off prospective renters.

Lack of before and after hours return service!
The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout the rental process. The car was in excellent condition, and I had no issues with it at all.
The only downside was the lack of a before-hours or after-hours return service. I needed to return the car before 8:00 am, but this wasn’t possible, which was quite inconvenient. As someone who travels frequently, having flexible pick-up and drop-off options is something I really value, so offering these services would greatly improve the overall customer experience.

As a part of offering Bargain prices, there are some services that the dearer rental companies will offer that aren't available through us, because using those would affect the prices we can offer. We're sorry if that process didn't work for you.

Being able to speak to a real person that was able to give advice and be empowered to make changes. Excellent service and very good value for money. All staff we had contact with were polite and knowledgable.

Only issue, which was resolved well, was that we advised we would be dropping the car off ,one hour later to depot in Darwin. We were told this would be ok. However when we got there at 5pm (actually just before), it was closed. We contacted and they said that we should have been told that the facility would be closed when we arrived (although I think closing time was 5pm when we later checked). We were given instructions to leave the car there at the facility and to hide the key and send pics. We did all that. We were then able to fulfill the rest of our plans for the night without inconvenience.

One week after returning the car and…
One week after returning the car and the holding deposit of $500 still hasn’t been returned to my account. Asked for insurance to be taken out a second time despite paying for full comprehensive insurance at the time of booking. Said it was a different insurance.
I was grateful for the car provided it was better than expected, however the administration is not so good.

It's very unusual for your holding deposit not to have been returned by now, Angela. The deposits are held as a pending transaction, and when they're released, the bank deletes the pending transaction, releasing the funds. If that pending transaction is no longer in your transaction history, then you should have access to your funds.
According to our records, you booked a booking agent. The insurance you purchased during their booking process is a Third Party Policy, and works as a reimbursement for damage claims from your rental. This means that, while we understand the confusion, the Third Party Cover and our Direct Cover are distinct products.
We're glad to hear that the vehicle was a highlight, however!

We understand your disappointment regarding not accepting cash, but we do believe that the benefits of being cashless for both you and us outweigh the negatives, such as having a clear paper trail, being able to charge the card mid-rental for extensions or relocations, and a far simpler refund process if you can't return to a depot.
