eSim didn't work but refunded swiftly
I had issues making the esim work, even after installing, activating and setting data roaming on and turning the day-to-day sim off. I tried self-troubleshooting using the guides to no avail. I'd no issues with a different esim provider, so these issues weren't due to my technical capabilities or lack thereof.
I left a message for support via the chatbot and was advised to wait for a reply once support was back online. However, I never received said support so esim was no use for the trip.
However, Amigo swiftly refunded my purchase after I contacted them, so I applaud them on this.

You did everything correctly: installed, activated, data roaming on, day-to-day SIM off. That should have worked, and the fact that it didn't is something we're taking seriously. Missing your support follow-up on top of that made a frustrating situation worse, and that's not the standard we hold ourselves to.
We're pleased the refund reached you quickly, but we know connectivity during a trip isn't something a refund fully fixes. We're using feedback like yours to drive real improvements to both our eSIM performance and support response times.
If you're ever willing to give us another shot, reach out directly and we'll make sure the experience is a very different one.

I made a mistake in purchasing my plan. My Amigo contact was completely understanding and offered a new plan gratis, which I had already arranged. In the end we cancelled with a refund. Thank you, Amigo, this will keep me coming back.

I had an excellent experience with Amigo eSIM from start to finish. The setup process was quick and seamless, making it easy to get connected right away without any hassle.
The coverage is outstanding—reliable, fast, and consistent no matter where I traveled to in Costa Rica.

With a little help from the support team I was finally able to install my eSIM card. The process is a little more complicated than with other companies but the support is very helpful and quick to respond. Now everything works smoothly. Value for price is the excellent.

As someone who first used eSim, I came across a very good service. I wasn't very good at loading, but I was able to get help from customer service immediately. Uninterrupted service, accessible customer service, and a hassle-free journey, miles away. Thanks.

All good with some info diffult to find
All good, but what I miss.is clear info on the networks supporter per country, info on when the activation of a plan takes place and info on the APN settings.

A learning experience for me and Amigo
Pretty much everything that could go wrong went wrong. I contacted Amigo before travelling to the US and they assured me that the eSIM would enable me to make local calls in US. No - My wife and I both got a message to the effect that we did not have any credit. We therefore had to use our normal UK SIM with inevitable charges. To be fair, data did work, but when the SIM time expired, the new one would not install and Amigo help was no use. Since returning home Amigo has steadfastly ignored my customer complaint
Update - After posting this review, I received a good communication from a director of Amigo, acknowledging that things had gone wrong and explaining the actions they are taking to address the issues. I have increased the rating from a 1 to a 3 in the light of the response

Great customer service
Great customer service, very responsive and solved my problem quickly. Helpful, understood the problem quickly, and put it right quickly. Sounds simple, doesn't it? But much better than you'd expect from a typical online/tech/telecoms firm!
Oh, and the e-SIM worked well too. Seemed good value and we'd definitely use them again.

Non-working esim
Unfortunately I'm another person who had the "rare case" of an esim failing to provision correctly and then had to leave a negative review here because I'm unable to get through to support (initially a chatbot that can't help, then a person who went silent when I mentioned both the QR and the activation code don't appear valid for my SIM).
I can't recommend based on this experience.
Update after chasing via support I was supplied another SIM, the QR code for this one also failed to scan but it came with the longer reference number which worked when adding manually (after removing spaces). Not very seamless and only got a response after posting this review.
