Cool!

I've always had very good luck in using Jetsetter. The hotels I've booked at have always delighted myself and my travel buddies. They always make me make our hotel reservations just to see what kind of cool place we're gonna stay at.

Flash sales are great

I've only done the flash sales, but have gotten really great rates. Smooth sailing so far. I do get a lot of emails though :/

Deceptive Marketing - Complete Rip-Off

On Tuesday night, I booked a hotel for a two night stay for my family. There are three of us. When making my reservation, I selected my dates and selected 1 Room and 3 Guests from the drop-down menu. I was given a list of available rooms for 3 guests. I selected my room and made my payment. After having paid, I was led to a page that provided details for the room, including the following message: "Maximum Occupancy: 3 (Rates quoted are for 2 people. There is a cost to add an additional guest to this room; see policies below.)"

Having selected "3 Guests" and been given various rooms and prices to choose from, I was under the impression that the prices would be for 3 guests. At no point in time before I paid for the room was I informed that the price was only for 2 people - usually if you select a room for 3 people, the price quoted is for 3. The payment page did not even contain a summary of the number of guests that my "subtotal" was for.

Within ten minutes of my booking, I sent an email to customer service explaining the situation and to see what we could work out, as Jetsetter reservations are not cancellable and are non-refundable. Two days later I have yet to receive a response from them, and yet they were happy to take my money and charge my credit card within 5 hours of my booking. I have just gotten off the phone with Jetsetter, and they continue to refuse to do anything about it, as they have a no-cancellation policy.

I now have to fork out an extra $46 + 17% tax per night. I understand the no-cancellation policy, but feel completely ripped off and deceived based on the number of people I booked the room for. Knowing that you are searching for a room for 3, there should at the very least be a warning before you book that you are paying only for two, and that the "grand total" quoted is not truly the grand total. This was my first time using Jetsetter and I really want to like the company, but based on the way I have been treated by them since my booking, it will certainly be my last time using it as well.

SCAM. CUSTOMER SERVICE is TERRIBLE. HOW is this a Gilt company? They should be ashamed.

Booked a night at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas for my birthday. 2 days before we flew out to Vegas, my mother became very sick and was hospitalized. I cancelled my flight, and tried canceling my hotel stay, but the hotel insisted that they were powerless to cancel it and refund my money since I booked it through Jetsetter (a third party). I then called Jetsetter twice, to which no one answered (during business hours). I sent them an email explaining the situation and needing to cancel; a woman named Nicole responded and said that they couldn't cancel without charging me the penalty, aka the entire price of one night's stay (uh, I'm only staying one night?).

The next morning I saw this email - called them THREE times this time - finally someone picked up, and a woman named Meg very ungraciously told me that there was nothing they could do, that it was up to the hotel to let us possibly rebook the night. It was very clear that she did not care about the customer experience aspect of her job, which struck me as terrible since Gilt makes such a big deal about valuing the customer experience.

Meg made a big deal about how she couldn't do anything; I eventually called the Cosmo hotel back myself, and they weren't any better. They told us the truth, which was that it was up to Jetsetter to refund me my money and eat the cost of the night, or not. I followed up with Meg and tried to politely explain that it would mean a lot to me and my customer loyalty to have her understand the anomalous situation (forget that I've canceled this entire trip due to a hospitalization). She continued to remain cold and uncaring and said she'd email me what she could do. 4 days later, she emailed to say that they're not refunding me my money, nor allowing me to rebook a night. I'm never booking through Jetsetter again. Also seriously reconsidering buying from Gilt.

Poor customer service; reneged on credit for a bad hotel experience.

Jetsetter advertised a bed and breakfast Inn in North Carolina and they were informed that we had an awful experience with that particular trip. While on that trip we encountered a sales pitch for a weight-loss program the entire time while we were supposed to be on vacation for rest and relaxation. Jetsetter gave us a credit for the trip and they are saying now the credit has expired and we cannot use. They never informed us that there was an expiration date. They make up their own rules as they go and are untrustworthy.

Feeling pretty scammed

I placed a hold for a trip the other day on jetsetter which is supposed to only charge you 10% and then you have a few days to decide if you want to book it. I wanted to figure out flights etc...seemed very reasonable to me. If you chose not to book it you sacrifice the 10% which turns into a jetsetter credit, I was fine with that. Except they charged me for the hold and the entire booking, and now they are giving me the run around to get my money back saying that they are waiting for their contact at the resort to get back to them so they can refund my money...still no call back

Avoid them!

I booked a room in Radisson Manchester through their web-site 2 months before I traveled, they charged me right away for the stay.
In the hotel check -out I was charged again as Jetsetter never sent them my payment!
The hotel is still trying to contact them- no reply.
They never answer the phone or my emails neither.
I wonder if I can get my money back!
DO NOT USE THEM!!!

Deal Breaker

Our friends booked a special Abruzzo cooking trip and asked us to join them. We enrolled in Jetsetter and signed up for the same Abruzzo trip as our friends, but we were told it was full. However, Jetsetter informed us that we could choose "Standby" status, which we did. In two days, we received word that our trip had been confirmed and that we were DEFINITELY part of the trip we had chosen--the cost of the trip immediately showed up on our credit card, so we happily set about "adjusting" our current schedule to accommodate the upcoming Italy trip: (1) We canceled an excursion we had planned on taking to the Finger Lakes district in New York; (2) We canceled concert tickets we had bought; (3) We set up petsitting dates for the time of the Abruzzo trip; (4) We rearranged schedules and appointments for our elderly parents because we are the ones who transport them to and from such appointments. HERE IS THE PUNCH LINE: Several days after adjusting our schedules to accommodate the Abruzzo trip, we received a call from Jetsetter saying someone had erroneously confirmed our acceptance in the trip, and we would NOT be able to go on the dates we had wanted. The person dealing with us during this "correction/rejection" call was rather cavalier and indifferent to the complexities and disappointment we experienced as a result of a Jetsetter employee's most unfortunate error. (I notice, by the way, that one of the reviews below also mentioned dealing with a confirmation error--perhaps this is a nagging problem that Jetsetter needs to deal with!) For me, the bottom line is that Jetsetter needs to use a system that more accurately indicates the enrollment status of its customers, and that once errors occur, every effort should be made to inform the unlucky travelers expeditiously (before they have re-designed their lives to fit a supposedly definite future excursion); they need to try everything in their power to right their wrong; and they need to do all of this with a modicum of courtesy and concern.

This was our first Jetsetter experience, and I intend for it to be our LAST.

Not Good

I reserved a room at the Oxford Hotel in Denver using their service. When I arrived at the hotel I was turned away because my reservation did not exist!!!! It was extremely embarrassing. I even had a confirmation from Jetsetter.

I cannot trust this service in the future and will never use them again.

Cannot professionally process inquiries

So, they had this competition - it was a booking of a Malta cruise for $100, and you had to be the first one to get the deal. There I was, with my browser ready at 3:59 pm..and VOILA! The option to book was available!! I quickly selected it and got an error message that said, please contact customer support and reference error #701. I called, someone picked up and said, Oops, you didn't call Jetsetter! Let me transfer you. 20 minutes later someone finally answered and said, "Oh, right..yea there's nothing we can do about that, it was a site error."

I emailed them a screenshot of the window that showed that I was, in fact, able to book the room! It was showing up as "available" but just would not let me check out. He said, "I understand, but the error message you saw just means the inventory is sold out." Obviously, I was not the only one that received that message, and the only reason I was on hold for 20 minutes listening to their annoying music was so that someone could manually help me process my request.

Overall, poor, poor experience, and the only thing I was told was to go on Standby. Yea. Right. Thanks.
