From start to finish I couldn't rate our experience higher on our first trip to Japan . We went on the holiday of a lifetime and the itinary and documentation and all the guides were great . Everything was thought of , our tickets , what train station we needed . All planned with precision . We needed to change one of our hotels prior to departure ....this wasn't a problem and easily handled and sorted . A big thanks to Will who did his absolute best to make sure we had a wonderful time . I can highly recommend inside Japan

We had Inside Japan recommended, we had not visited Japan before, normally we travel independently, as we were a little apprehensive travelling Japan, we had very little knowledge of the country, we felt happier with assistance.
After our first conversation with IJ we felt confident we had found a company we could work with.
The option of how much input / help we wanted suited our style of traveling, the balance of travelling independently with support of hotels and transport sorted suited us very well.
Our trip was discussed in detail and the agenda set, great recommendations for places to visit and things to do made the planning a great part of the trip.
The hotels were in the right places, central to where we needed to be, the rail travel was superbly organized.
We felt the whole trip was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend Inside Japan.

Everything from the planning to the actual trip was nearly flawless.

Our agent was very knowledgeable, listened to what we wanted and didn't want and created an itinerary that was perfect.
The accommodation was a mix of traditional and modern and,always clean and comfortable. All train journeys were prebooked and tickets provided. We received excellent cultural inside knowledge from Inside Japan which was very helpful. It gave us confidence to access more traditional experiences.

A perfect vacation, well organised from A to Z. Fully delivered on our wishes places to visit, local guides, transport pick ups & tour documentation not to mention hotels wifi device etc etc

There are a range of tours and our guide was well informed, fun and very caring in his response to the different needs of his group. We had a wonderful time on the tour and in a further two weeks self guided where we were also well supported by the company with portable wifi and all our travel tickets and related timetables provided. We had to do most of the planning for the self-guided part of our tour to Kyushu ourselves as the itinerary originally suggested by the UK office would have involved us in too much travel time but if you are going to veer off the beaten track then you expect to have to do your own research. The hotels we picked ourselves and those selected by Inside Japan for the tours were all excellent and good value.

Inside Japan helped us every step of the way and customised an amazing trip. It was so reassuring to have the in-country support and the insider days were the best!

Probably tried to see too many places in too little time x but thanks our fault as much as it yours. Everything else was great!

Our experience of Inside Japan was great from start to finish. They put together a great trip to Honshu based on the requirements of the four of us. We all enjoyed the culture, the food, the built and natural landscapes, the travel and the people, especially the guides Inside Japan had selected. A thoroughly amazing 3 weeks!

Well organised. Train tickets all sorted in advance which made travel easy.
It would have been helpful to have more information on the luggage forwarding service from each hotel. Overall an excellent experience

We got expert individual advice putting our itinerary together. IJ did all the accommodation and travel booking, which was quite complex and did an excellent job of it. The support whilst in Japan was superb. The just know Japan inside out

Everything was good- the choice of tours, the transportation, the food at every stop. We felt like we really saw Japan by getting involved. There were a few workshops plus meeting with a maiko. The tour guide Ed was wonderful. So all in all a great trip. Will definitely go with them again.

the bespoke tour was very well organised, with every element covered in terms of travel arrangements with everything journey time and pick ups etc so clear.
The hotels and experience hotels were all of a great standard. The personal guides in Tokyo and Kyoto made such a difference to our understanding as well as visually seeing. There was the right balance between organised guides and our own time to explore. highly recommend Inside Japan

Was a wonderful experience with accomodation options that helped our family appreciate local culture. Trip to a baseball game was something our kids will always remember. The local experience and ability to support in country was also invaluable.

great trip thanks to the fantastic organisation and help from Emma and the team both before and during our trip. I wouldn't use anyone else when arranging a trip to Japan. From the very first contact they were first class and came up with some fantastic ideas to make our trip truly memorable.

I stumbled across the website at an initial search and contacted the company! Sarah answered my queries and helped me think about what I really wanted out of the vacation patiently and still with real experience and enthusiasm.

In the end I did decide to go ahead with IJT and their “ Hidden Japan Tour”. I booked the tour and also got support with travel and accommodation booking post the tour ending as I stayed an extra week ish in Japan exploring on my own.

On to the tour itself my tour guide Sophia Drake was brilliant, flexible and super helpful! I did a few things independently in my free time during the tour but Sophia had me prepped for solo travel confidently outside of the tour. Sophia was knowledgeable and I loved the weaving story telling that weaved in and out the tour dependent on what we visited.

Tour itself “ Hidden Japan” is truly an experience I would not have planned but so grateful that I have been able to do it. From the traditional awa odori dance to the kendo experience in Jorge ( I was not expecting it)! Everything was organised brilliantly and tour guides organised for the places we visited were amazing! If u think this tour is worth trying but are wavering I would say just go for it!

The company truly believes in supporting the local community and it showed! I can say much more but will end here.. Amazing people and amazing company!

This was a very well organised trip. We received all the information we needed and more. All the tickets were there and our guides were all wonderful. Our accommodation was terrific, although the Green Hotel in Takayama would have been better if we'd had a regular room with a western bed. But that's small!. The luggage travel on was really good and overall we had a fantastic trip.
