- did not communicate for months about a preorder
- missed their preorder delivery window by weeks
- threatened to have posts on a forum removed
- lied about refunding me (they said they would and then pulled back the refund)
- tried to condition their refund on me stating specific, untrue things on a forum
- had to chargeback the purchase (I won the chargeback)
- complained to moderators on a forum and had my posts ultimately removed
Ordered a strap. Website said shipped from the U.S. In fact it came from Germany and I had to pay an import tax/duty. Ok, whatever. Ordered a second strap in 22mm and this time the order has sat for 7 days and has not been processed. In any case the wait time and shipping is a serious problem. More of a problem than misquoting the price, slow and painful shipping and false advertising, on two occasions they have not responded to my customer service request. They have no phone number that works and their website is broken, cannot create a new account. I guess just give them an unknown amount of money and wait and see what happens? It would be a zero if that was an option.
Synchron USA sold me a faulty Poseidon Black watch. I bought the watch during their 2024 Black Friday sale.
Issues with the watch: Lug holes drilled too large resulting in audible clicking of the spring bars as well as a bezel that fell off the watch on day 6 of owning it after turning it gently all of five of six times total.
The customer service experience detailed:
Their phone number "doesn't accept calls at this time" - the same phone number listed on their other brand websites for IsoFrane, Aquastar, and Aquadive. Their automated email system is also down, as I’ve been informed by customer service on two separate occasions, so don't expect an invoice after purchase.
Emails go unanswered sent through both their website forms and directly to their Paypal associated email address as well.
The chat agent/operator does not answer messages left and is only reachable intermittently throughout the work week. You must monitor and constantly refresh the website to see if "chat is available".
After several attempts via chat I was able to get a prepaid label for a return with the promise of a full refund. The delay was due to “moving to a new office space”.
After the return was delivered to the “new” East Coast USA office I followed up via chat where I was told they issued a refund. No refund was issued. I was then told that the "main European office" would need to transfer money from their bank account into Paypal to refund me. More time goes by and I'm then told (in writing) "he" is still working on it. "He" most likely refers to Rick Marei, the owner.
At this point I opened a case with Paypal to mediate and keep the refund on track.
After two more follow ups over another 7 days, I was told by Synchron that they were not able to refund me due to a Paypal hold. They were “waiting to hear from Paypal”.
So I called Paypal and was informed on the phone that this was not true and that a refund could have been issued at any time with a click of a button.
Around this time I noticed that Synchron USA had deleted or blocked my Synchron website account. Even though I never received an invoice for the watch I bought due to their broken email system, I of course had taken screenshots of my account and the transaction record before I was locked off from it.
After reviewing the chat transcripts and other pieces of evidence I provided to Paypal, they forced a refund and closed the case in my favor, thus concluding my business with Synchron.
Needless to say, I cannot recommend buying any product from Synchron or their other brands.
I've been scammed by this company. After multiple emails they agreed to make it up for their mistake. This was in January, months ago. Since then, they've ignored all of my follow ups.
