I spent a week at the Sing Sondheim retreat with tuition guided by West End professionals Leigh, Pippa and CJ. The experience was fantastic, the Spanish villa and food from Zane and team were wonderful. Cat ran the whole operation diligently. A great concept and experience, would recommend.

I had such a great time with a talented bunch of individuals not to mention the sheer brilliance of the tutors who were so encouraging, invested as well as pushing us to bring greater skills out of us that we didn’t know we had! Thank you Zane and Cat for an extremely warm and professional week! I’ll be back for more!

Such an enjoyable retreat! Plenty of singing, guided by top notch tutors and industry professionals. Rounded off with a masterclass and show. Tasty food, comfortable accommodation. Superb host and staff. I'll be going again.

The Les Misérables week was absolutely incredible and exceeded all my expectations. A huge thank you to Cat and Zane for bringing this amazing experience to life and organising it with such care and attention to detail. From the moment we arrived, they made everyone feel welcome and at home. The teaching team - Nick, Zev and Steve - were phenomenal, bringing expertise, enthusiasm and fun to every session. The villa and the food were outstanding - it couldn’t have been better.

I can’t wait for the next SingEatRetreat week! I highly recommend it to anyone who loves musicals and wants to combine improving their singing and performance skills with an unforgettable holiday in Spain.

A fantastic week of singing guided by professionals, the calibre of which amateurs like us would not be able to experience otherwise.
The venue is a fantastic villa with views of the Straits of Gibralter to Morocco and the food is excellent, mainly freshly cooked, and plentiful, with each day being different. There was even variety at breakfast.

A wonderful experience to be a part of. I was invited to join as a professional tutor and had the loveliest experience. The villa was the perfect setting, the food (and drink) was delightful and the participants approached the week with a real joy that made for the best atmosphere. Everything about the ‘holiday’ was brilliantly organised, from the pick up to the accommodation. I have no doubt that ‘Sing, Eat, Retreat’ will go from strength to strength in the coming years and urge people to take the leap and experience it!

Just back from a fabulous week doing the Les Miserables retreat - a show I have never seen or heard anything of, other than the obvious songs. Added to which I don’t read music so starting from scratch and completely out of my comfort zone. Great food, company and excellent teaching from the pro’s ensured we all ended up better singers than when we started, even if I still haven’t overcome my horror of solo singing … next time. Cat and Zane, congratulations on a fantastic concept and execution, this will go from strength to strength and I will be back.

Honestly, the best thing I’ve ever made! Surrounded by wonderful people and great food, we shared heartwarming moments that I’ll never forget. The tutors were amazing, absolutely lovely, and felt like part of our team. What a privilege to work with them!

Absolutely brilliant week. A real privilege to work with a team of hugely talented coaches and the whole team are such lovely people. The accommodation and food was excellent and our group of participants were all great. The final performance at the end of the week was a real triumph.

Why can’t I give Sing Eat Retreat 6 stars? I have just enjoyed one of the best weeks of my life, and it’s been quite a long life already.

It started on a sunny Sunday afternoon in October when, as a group of complete strangers with a shared passion for singing, we met up in a villa outside Tarifa in Southern Spain, with its spectacular views across the Straits of Gibraltar to Morocco. And just five days later, after working intensively in groups and in 1-to-1 sessions, with two professional voice coaches, Ben Mann and Patrick d’Arcy, whose day jobs include working with current and future stars of the musical theatre scene in London’s West End and beyond, we presented a flash mob and concert of Queen songs at a local restaurant. The show featured group numbers and some sensational solos from people who, just five days earlier, would never have believed themselves capable of doing such a thing to such a high level. And all this thanks to the incredible skills, passion and patience of Ben and Patrick, with additional input from Danny Vaughn who joined us during the week. Danny is a rock musician with over 30 years’ experience of the music business, who gave us some invaluable mentoring and practical insights into stage craft and performance skills.

But this was only one element of our journey, albeit a core element. The clue is in the name!

The second highlight of our week was the delicious food prepared every day by our host and the founder of Sing Eat Retreat, Zane Rambaran, and his team. Zane has a lifetime of experience in the hospitality and music businesses, which was clear from the expertise and dedication that he showed every day, in and out of the kitchen. But he would be the first to admit that without the support and encouragement from his righthand woman Cat Grant, the event could never have run as smoothly and as seamlessly as it did. And all this was done with such kindness, good humour and just a sense of fun.

And the last element was the location itself, the beautiful Huerta Belinda. This stunning villa and the amazing accommodation that it provided, allowed us all to step out of our comfort zones and into somewhere that proved itself to be even more comfortable. A place to retreat from the everyday. A place to relax. A place to sing. And a place to make friendships and memories that will last with us all for a long time.

Sing Eat Retreat truly does what it says on the can.

And as Judy Garland sang all those years ago, “Who could ask for anything more?”

Everything about this break was fantastic. So well orchestrated from start to finish. Brilliant coaching throughout the week culminating in our performance at a local venue on the last night. A fantastic experience. I will definitely do it again

I entered this retreat so excited to learn new things about singing, about myself and to meet new people.
I really thought I couldn’t sing but left confident, that now I understand technique and MY own voice, I actually can.
I don’t read music ( still don’t) It doesn’t matter! I was a total novice in recognising types of voice, pitch, notes and harmonies- not now!
Ben Mann and Patrick D’Arcy,our top London, vocal coaches were so passionate about their craft and taught us in such a relatable way, explaining technique and demonstrating it every step of the way.
Danny Vaughan, front man, from an international rock band, also joined to mentor us. His expertise in singing live performing and musicality were invaluable. He played guitar for my live performance - which will always be so special to me🙏🏻
It’s true to say the weather was not good. There may have been rain outside but the sun was certainly shining in those rehearsal rooms. The villa and it’s grounds are stunning and so tranquil. The rooms luxurious and comfortable. The food, prepared and home cooked by Zane, Cat and the team was always so delicious and never ending!
Their care and dedication to giving everyone this Sing Eat Retreat experience was outstanding from planning to delivery.
The icing on this cake though, is that I met fantastic people and made life long friends.
It was fun, belly laughing, sometimes, emotional FUN. We were all dedicated but we laughed and laughed all week.
It really was wonderful and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat .

Never having been on a singing holiday before, the care and attention, let alone the professionalism of the tutors and staff, led to an inspirational break from my humdrum life

I have just finished coaching on the SingEat Retreat - Queen week. The venue is breathtaking - you won’t find a better setting. A very rewarding week coaching the guests, who now, I hope, will become friends. Special mention to Cat, who is outstanding - liaising between guests and tutors to ensure the week runs as smoothly as possible. Bravo Zane! Please can you plate me up some of that Paella and send it to the UK asap….. Gracias x

Superbly organised, great communication before and during the trip. Cat and Zane thought of everything even down to booking an optional (wonderful) massage during our week. Zane and his team produced delicious food from morning 'til night. Snacks and drinks were freely available all day. The villa is indescribably beautiful. The accommodation is perfect with gorgeous rooms, breathtaking views and so peaceful. Weather wasn't great during our stay but we did manage lunch outside a couple of times. This didn't impact our enjoyment because the business of singing kept us pleasantly busy but with plenty of time to socialise, rest or practise. There was a relaxed open mike session every evening which was entirely just for fun and always a good laugh.
Our tutors were out of this world. Ben and Patrick are West End pro's but were so supportive of us amateurs. They coached us tirelessly which was a totally inspiring and unique privilege for us! We also worked with Danny an international rock star who has an incredible voice, is a truly nice guy and gave us some invaluable feedback.
Our 6 days culminated in a flash mob and concert at a local restaurant. There was a huge sense of camaraderie, excitement and it was brilliant having an end goal after the efforts of the whole team.
So sad to leave as I have made some great friends in the space of just a few days. Highly recommend this trip if singing is something that makes you happy!

This second Sing, Eat and Retreat experience (this time, The Musicals of Andrew Lloyd Webber) even exceeded the experience of the first! The formula of bringing together a disparate group of singers of various ages, singing experience, and preferred/usual genres, with immensely talented West End coaches and stars is inspired! Learning and laughter went hand-in-hand as we sang and stumbled our way through a range of songs, including the syncopated 'Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats' - which were delivered to pretty surprised audiences at the Flash Mob and the short concert. Thanks to all who brought us expertly, wittily - and safely - through this fabulous week.

Genuinely one the best things I have ever done. I can't say enough good things about this retreat it surpassed all my expectations. The tutors were exceptional and supported everyone, regardless of singing ability, to achieve live performances by the end of the week.

And the food ! Just wow, restaurant quality every meal.

Thanks to the logistics team for an absolutely flawless experience, I will definitely be back!

Truly one of the best weeks of my life! Superb venue, fabulous food and professional expertise and encouragement that helped me do things I never thought Id do at my stage of life! Oh....and great fun! Do it you won't regret it.
