Brookfield park - Burnham on Crouch - Essex!
We absolutely love our new home, this will now be our forever home and we couldn't be happier. Lin and Diane made the whole process enjoyable and it felt like chatting with friends when dealing with the whole process (even when our first buyers pulled out- they couldn't have been more kind and helpful). They did all the phone calls with solicitors and estate agents and kept us up to date. We even ended up exchanging whilst on holiday!
We do still have some snagging left to do, but in all honesty- didn't really have that much to begin with. Diane and lin have been so supportive with this and will help where they can and if not, send it on to the aftersales team.
We were originally looking at buying with another developer but so happy we chose here.

Starting from booking the house and by the time we were handed over the keys it was all good and rosey with Matthew homes in Earls Park Gloucester.
However since then it has become a nightmare for us as after sales is so poor that despite of sending repeated reminders with the snags list, to the after sales team, there hasn't been even the single visit from site manager. Even the site manager decided to skip 7 days site manager visit and never showed up. There has been leakage jn the kitchen, main door misaligned, garden in pathetic condition which site manager promised will be taken care at the time of key handover , all gone for a toss.
Now I am feeling as if it was a trap and I have made a mistake buying the property in Earls Park 🙄🙄

It has now been a year since we bought our new home in Burnham-on-Crouch. We are very happy with our property. It was a really tough sale process and people kept dropping out. The ladies in the sales office were amazing. Linda and Diane, they managed to keep the whole process going even when things looked like they were going to fall though. They made numerous phone calls to estate agents and solicitors! Chasing them forward. Thank you.
The build quality is very good. There is some snagging and this is being addressed, slowly. We are no strangers to new builds, so understand how the process works.

Matthew homes at Fleet Mill are replacing the windows on the first floor of Lorica and Infinion House because they are defective. The flats were sold as a new build but were just converted office buildings with dodgy windows that they thought they could get away with without replacing them.
Now they have decided to replace them with new ones.
We were promised 3 days maximum disruption.
They replaced the windows after much cutting and damage to the surrounding frame on the first day. The next day we were promised the frames would be made good and filled and on the third day they would be sanded down and painted. NO SUCH LUCK!!!
It seems there was no one to do the work on the last day, a Friday.
With the weekend ahead of us and no one to speak to and the flat in a dusty mess after all the work, we decided to do the cleaning up and redecorate the surrounding window frames ourselves.
The windows still need adjusting as they are rubbing when you close them and the outsides need sealing and cleaning as they still have the original manufacturing stickers on them and greasy fingerprints all over them.
It is now day seven and counting!!!!
Still no date set to finish the work.
If you see this review on here Matthew Homes don't fob me off with your usual "please email us at customer services" nonsense like you do to all the other dissatisfied customers on here, just get it sorted!!!

Still awaiting after months for our “snagging” list to be completed which should have been done before we received the keys. Nothing never seemed to get done or after sales get back to you. We speak to the site manager and just get fobbed off. I would avoid at all costs !!

Since purchasing our property we’ve had nothing but problems with MHs. This includes our public open space being a derelict wasteland a year on and the other opens spaces never being mowed or tended to. For example the front of our development is lined with dead trees, weeds and grass that goes above your knees. The roads and drains all have problems which we’ve identified and still MHs has not resolved. We’ve also problems with the management company and the fact we were told certain areas were being adopted by the Council. All I’ve had is constant stress for the past year and it has taken a toll on my health.
Well. We have brought a house in barnham from Matthew homes and overall we like it. We have had a few snags which were rectified prior to us moving in. Once we had moved in we quickly sorted the garden out to prevent it being a bog like the other 20+ houses on the estate.
A few snags were dealt with after moving in but one that is still an ongoing issue is the shower blocking up (it’s not hair). It needed remasticing as it was done poorly and caused a leak through to the bedroom below. This took 12 weeks to be done and rendered the en suite useless.
We have had multiple tiles fall from the roof and am still awaiting a tradesperson to fix it.
The public open space we look out upon is still a mud bath and since September Matthew homes have been trying to say the weather isn’t ideal. Well we’ve had all the seasons and continue to be lied to by Aftersales and even the owner mr wragg.
It is terrible Aftersales service and we quite frankly along with many other residents feel let down by the battle we have faced to get the work done that should have done already. By not doing the POS before we had moved in they have breached planning permission also. They are a disgrace. Very quick to take your money but they fade to the distance once they’ve got it. Avoid at all costs!

We were really excited to buy our first home. We thought it will be the best option for our young family with a baby on the way to buy a new build home. Matthew Homes seemed to be a very good choice, nice show home, very friendly sales personnel and a lot of promises that if there was anything that goes wrong they will look after us.…we could not be more wrong!
Customer care is very poor. Lack of efficient communication, staff changes all the time and with that any pending queries will die. I just don’t understand it, you buy a mobile phone and if anything goes wrong you will get the best customer service and aftersales care you could ever wished for, but when you buy a house and you spent hundreds of thousands of pounds you just get brushed away and ignored all the time when things are not quite right and they just don’t want to have anything to do with you avoiding any accountability for obvious building mishaps.
Squeaky floors in a new home. Leaky extraction fans in bathrooms, which lead to mould on ceilings and stains in bedroom due to poor steam extraction system installation and build-up of water, completely detached from ground manhole cover on the property which are serious H&S hazard just to name a few issues…
The worst part about it is, once they eventually (after not turning up once without a phone call) send an Aftersales Manager (with the worst customer service skills, let me add) to the house to complete an inspection of the issues that you may have, he will have no interest in what you have to say, pass the blame on you, will not communicate what the next steps are going to be and then lie in the report with the most unprofessional opinion that he may have, just to avoid any further costs. That so called after sales manager will ignore your emails for weeks and then will not give you any reasonable explanation of the decisions that he/they are making.
Even their subcontractors would agree that they are completely unreasonable.
So we have ended up repairing stuff paying from our own pocket and it’s still ongoing.
Now when you are in the property for more than 2 years they wash their hands from any responsibility and send you off to NHBC.
Nearly two years after they have sold last house the common grounds still look like a building site.
It's a huge shame as it really does not have to be this way. Mistakes happen, just own up to them and make things right Matthew Homes.
Huge disappointment, hopelessness and the feeling of being conned.

Where to start!
Fantastic at sales who respond almost immediately when we were in the process of buying. Even the onsite maintenance is good enough to respond if you contact them directly. However, the aftersales is a complete shambles. No one even working in aftersales for the first few months of us buying our property. And almost 2 years on there might as well be no one working there.
First contact to them was June 2022 in regards to one of our windows letting in a draft. Here we are 9 months later 6/7 windows are letting in a draft 2 are being held on place by pieces of 4x4 holding it in and yet there is still no plan in place to get them replaced.
Numerous email chains from residence who get robotic rude repsonses that are just insulting. I've even contacted the directors twice asking for someone to make contact with me and they have done nothing.
Judging by her reviews this seems like the quickest way to get someone to respond

After a very stressful sale we are delighted to be in our new build and very happy that is now a home. There were a few issues with the purchase due to our sale and Alison was always there and extremely helpful to ensure it all went as smooth as possible. Even when I was getting stressed Alison was at the other end of the phone to reassure me. Thank you for getting us into our home
Unhappy with my property I purchased in 2022 at Fleet Mill, which, in my opinion, didn't meet my expectations unfortunately due to numerous leaks, which resulted in wall and carpet damage (although Matthew Homes did eventually fix the wall and replace bedroom carpet once leak fixed, albeit after a lot of stress and inconvenience). Faulty windows, misaligned radiator brackets, slow remedial works and shockingly terrible after sales service. Their replies to reviews state they want every customer to feel satisfied with their purchase, yet in my opinion their extremely poor after sales seems to contradict this as I certainly don't feel like a valued customer, which results in a loss of confidence in my opinion. Matthew Homes really need to improve in this area in my opinion. Unfortunately, I am already planning to sell so that I can put this nightmare of an experience behind me. Buying a new home should be a joyous and exciting time but my experience has been anything but joyous, albeit more stressful, time consuming and inconvenient. Consequently, I will not be buying a property from this developer ever again, and I'm not surprised Matthew Homes are currently rated 'poor' with TrustPilot.

I have found the quality of work in my new build very poor. The plaster work and painting is sub standard. The after sales service is poor, two months after moving in I am still waiting for faults to be rectified.
Matthew homes were excellent from the get go right from the sales team, Harriet and Linda were fantastic and very informative, they were professional and very proactive in supporting myself and my partner through out our purchase, also would like to say a massive thank you to the site management Andy and Guy for there 1st class customer service
DO NOT BUY A MATTHEW HOMES PROPERTY!!!!
I thought buying my first house would be a nice experience but I am utterly disgusted and disappointed by the state of sale and aftercare from Matthew homes… as soon as they have your money they want nothing to do with anything!! I have been in my new build for over a year and there is still no completed road. I feel embarrassed bringing friends and family into the estate!! Numerous cars have been damaged to the poor workmanship!!
