Completed test drive with Rooster- took bit over 2 weeks to get quote. As others have said app does use quite a bit of battery in background so something to be aware of. Quote received was very competitive- about same as cheapest quote on comparison sites and less the majority of other quotes on there- most of which were telematics (black box) quotes. In terms of Sales experience received quote and few days later went back to see higher price so message support who replied in less than 2 mins and were able to bring it back down. It was still a little more than originally quoted but to be fair I was only a few days from when I wanted policy to start so would have expected to go up. After purchasing noticed slight error in that wasn't covered for commuting, messaged support and they were able to immediately update at no extra cost. Overall been really impressed with speed and helpfulness of live chat and much better experience than other insurers. Thankfully haven't had to make any claims but I understand others have mentioned it's not great so something to consider. Overall had a good experience and app is good- makes it easy to make changes and the other features like MOT and Tax reminders and bookings for services are useful.
Quoted me £2.4k compared to the ~£800 I currently pay for insurance. (Even though they are running an advertisement campaign on how traditional insurance companies quote for £2k and they can save up to 40%)
I followed up with a representative, who then shared me a quote from someone else including all the personal information that person gave to Rooster to get their quote (name, DoB, address, employment, motoring convictions, etc.)

Very unfortunate I was involved in a RTA, which I’m at no fault. The current unsettled claim has increased my car insurance by 3 times. I previously spoke with a Rooster rep who informed me they are not willing to renew my insurance after seeking legal advice I found out I should not be denied insurance. I then contacted rooster and was told the new price.

I had to undergo a test drive that ended up taking longer than anticipated. When I reached out for a quote, I was informed that they couldn't provide one without any grounds as to why. It would have been preferable if this information had been communicated upfront instead of invading privacy by continuously tracking location during the test drive. Don’t waste your time on this and try to compare and negotiate with reputable names in the market for smoother claims and peace of mind.

It’s cheaper than other traditional insurance. However, when it comes to claim, renewal you won’t get any support. Very unprofessional and must be avoided.

If unlucky to have an accident don’t expect them to help you with anything . Someone hit my car while was parked I contacted Rooster car insurance they told me to sort out with the another’s person insurance. As a result I had to pay for my car repair out of my pocket.
Totally unhelpful car insurance to make the matters worse they doubled up my insurance premium before the accident.

The whole process was so easy, just bare in mind it takes time to monitor your driving so give up to 28 days before your insurance is due for renewal. You can access all your documents through the app as well as finding the cheapest fuel stations, easy to update your details.

Very user friendly app and so easy to purchase insurance from them. Decent price aswell
I have used Rooster for the past 3 years, and I know they're so far ahead of any other insurance company!
Their app is incredibly easy to use, and their customer service team are the best CS team I've ever had to deal with. They reply super fast and have always resolved any of my issues, and have always given me competitive prices that I cannot turn down.
I will continue using them and have some of my family and friends switching to them, they all agree that they're amazing!

Was made to do a test drive which was taking longer than expected. When I messaged I was told they were unable to quote due to postcode and the vehicle type. This should have been communicated upfront rather than invading privacy through constantly tracking location via the test drive

So I did the test drive like required, it took ages for the results to come back so I decided to contact Rooster who told me you had to have had a license for a year before they’d give you a quote. Unfortunately because I had upgraded to a manual license there was a bit of confusion. After sorting that out they asked about my employment status, I told them I’m unemployed and they refused to insure me. They advise they don’t discriminate and only quote you based on your driving, don’t listen to it, it’s a bunch of nonsense. They discriminate as much as every other insurance companies, useless waste of time!

The assistance and communication was very fast and extremely helpful when I was occurring some issues in the app but all got sorted it 👌
Was with rooster last year. The start experience was fab. When it came to renewal the whole service was disgusting. Renewal was more than the actual car! Then I rejoined and it was checking My driving. App kept saying no records shown. Follow all their advise still nothing and then they told me to go to a different provider.
Now I am trying to sort my NCB and nobody is helping because they damn intercom keeps failing when I try to send them my NCB from the previous year.
No customer loyalty shown or tried to retain me. Very bad experience

Great service, and quick response to inquiries through the app and very helpful...
Waste of time, don’t bother… Followed every step to a Tee, the driving tracker was taking way too long to monitor my driving (said 10-18 days for about 5 days in a row with no progress, despite driving close to 100 miles in those days) - when I reached out to query this, I was met with ‘how much are you being quoted elsewhere?’ - when I told them the figure, I was pretty much told ‘go with the traditional insurance provider then’. There was no quote, no incentive, no chance. I wasn’t even given a chance.
On top of this, I left an instagram comment on a post, to share my experience. Within an hour it was deleted. Just reeks of shady business practice to me.
